This Book Will Change Your Life - The Road by Cormac McCarthy.

We know that it is merely coincidental that there was a bomb scare and a police lock down in our neighborhood this morning that we had to wade through to get one of the kids to camp just hours after finishing The Road. We also know that you can't compare the father-son journey in the post-Apocalyptic world of The Road to our walk this morning, and yet that doesn't mean this morning's journey wasn't scary, and it doesn't mean you can feel all that safe dropping your kid off anywhere near...

Third Face.

There is new literary happening at the Third Face and there are many TBWCYL, Inc. favorites contributing, including, but not limited to Barry Graham, Peter Schwartz, Mary Hamilton and the Jacob Knabb, three of whom we are proud to say that we have podcasted with and the other of whom we are proud to have interviewed, here, here, here and here respectively. Enjoy. All of it. And Godspeed.

This Book Will Change Your Life - Hush Up and Listen Stinky Poo Butt by Ken Sparling.

We have been trying to think about how best to describe not just our great love for Hush Up and Listen Stinky Poo Butt by Ken Sparling, but the emotional impact it had on us as we read it. At first we thought about other things we read this year that crushed us, for example, the short stories Brains for Bengo from Jim Ruland's collection Big Lonesome or An Optimist is the Human Personification of spring from Caleb J. Ross' collection Charactered Pieces, but we realized there was a...

Holy Folded Bosworth.

Seriously, we can only hope to contain the Bosworth, because there is new book, Freight, which is due out in May 2011, from the quite awesome Folded Word, who is also holding a literary/art contest in support of the release. More below on that and big props to Mel who is on a most sweet roll indeed.

"In preparation for Freight's launch in May 2011, Folded Word will be holding a literary/art contest. Everyone is encouraged to submit work in any category listed below–work that answers the...

The prosecution rests.

"I (expletive) busted my ass and pissed people off and gave your grandmother a free (expletive) ride on a bus. OK? I gave your (expletive) baby a chance to have health care. And what do I get for that? Only 13 percent of you all out there think I'm doing a good job. So (expletive) all of you."

- Rod Blagojevich on the voters who elected him, from a government wiretap recorded on Election Day 2008.

This Podcast Will Change Your Life, Episode Twenty-Eight - Poetry in Your Toes.

It was so overdue. And what is it that was so overdue you ask? A podcast with long-time TBWCYL, Inc. favorite Jacob Knabb of course. We are calling this episode Poetry in Your Toes, though we were tempted to call it Flaccid, and Jacob not only brought along some friends, including the Barry Graham, Robyn Pennacchia and Kari Freitag, the first two of which starred with Jacob in the now award winning Fire Sale video, but he even takes some time to call out fellow West Virginian and TBWCYL...

A David Masciotra Working on a Dream Ryan Bradley Big Other Springsteen bucket of love.

Always fun to see various TBWCYL, Inc. favorites come together, and in this case the David Masciotra guest blogging on Big Other via the Ryan Bradley. It is very nice indeed and includes a play list of Masciotra's favorite Springsteen songs from the current decade. Please do take a look and please enjoy the below excerpt as well, it not only tackles one of our favorite Springsteen songs from the current decade, but it is quite Masciotra at that and sure to change your life.

"My City of...
