Walrus was pretty cool, though my copy got stolen, it is awesome seeing artist make what ever pops into their head. Besides Katsuya Terada, I can't think of another comic artist publishing a book of just their art with in the last few years. Do know of any

Thanks and sorry planet earth is jerks.

Terada is kind of the king of published sketchbooks.”His alias is Rakugakingu(ラクガキング "Doodle King" as far as other sketchbook books Kim Jung-Gi is amazing .  I think my pal Farel’s delusional is like his version of Walrus.

I feel like I have a lot of books that fit into the same type of thing but most of my favorites are zines I got from conventions.Check out the stuff from the Peow guys.

My intention was to write briefly about how good Brandon Grahams art-book, walrus, was and illustrate it with lots of his incredibly cool art, but it turned into something else… I’m not sure what, but if you want to read it, it’s here.

'The reason I love Graham's art, or drawing style is because it is so  broadly recognisable as an amalgamation of the ligne claire tradition, married with elements dominantly associated with Japanese comics: the clarity, lines, and colour palette European, the sfx, fonts, nuances, and stylisations Japanese. Even in material like King City and Warheads, the sci-fi leans European in landscape and design, where the humour and lightness/quirk and energy is more manga-like in tone.  His people are a mix of both- the sketchier illustrations of women here evoke Manara but he can switch from that sensuality to the squeaky-bubble 'fun' sexy cartoon characters just as easily. there is such a quality of clean-ness , of clarity to Graham's art, the lines fine yet assured, never appearing tight or overly controlled or precise; there's still a sense of fluidity, but not really a looseness.'

artandcetera:

Anna Pan is an animation student at Queensland College of Art in Brisbane, Australia. The blend of daily life with surrealism creates contemplative, enigmatic pieces that easily draw the eye.

A lot of the time I find myself drawing or reusing a lot of my older characters — especially the ones from a couple of years ago, where their stories are so convoluted and have been changed so many times I can’t really remember what happen[s] to them anymore. They still stay in the back of my mind, and I use a lot of them as guinea pigs or vessels for my own emotions and experiences. I think I’ve been through so much with them that I’m too fond of them to let them go…

Check out the interview i did for artandcetera! Thanks so much to Alex for asking me to do the interview!

why is the pin-up of the Parabalani Jons drawn so sexy? aren't they slaves...?

They aren’t slaves, they’re clones that serves the soldier elite in the baths (along side alien slaves)

They’re grown for sexy stuff and they’re drawn so damn sexy in the Strikefile because I got Onta to draw them.

One of the things we try with Prophet is trying to think about how things might work far removed from our modern ideas. So cannibalism is a norm, and generally thought of as the respectible thing to do when a friend dies. and gender is seen differently. All Prophets are brothers even the female prophets —

Here’s more Onta.

malachiward:

Some of the prints I’ll have this weekend at Alternative Press Expo in San Francisco.
I’ll also have all my comics, of course, and a big pile of original drawings.

Matt Sheean will be sharing the table with me. He has a new comic called Fugue, as well as prints and originals.

Here’s a page I did for the Prophet Strikefile #2 that I’m getting together this weekend.

This is for the race that a member of showed up in Prophet #21 to sex our hero and deliver a message. Handsome devils. They also helped build the cyclops rails,

That thing he/she is watching is a creature’s cloaca opening that changes colors in soooothing ways.
