popjellyfish:

Here’s a comic I drew that will be published in Prophet at some point in the future. It’s written by Sean Witzke, and colored by Sloane Leong(the best company I could ask to collaborate with, follow them already).

This was so fun to make. Prophet is my all out favorite monthly comic, and I’m honored and excited to be printed alongside such inspiring work.

EDIT: Much thanks to Jared Lewis who did color-flatting for it. Flatters go unsung way too often. It’s capital w WORK, and besides Jared is somebody you should definitely be looking into.

I drew a Deunan from Appleseed as part of the inkstuds kickstarter sketches. I think she’s got on like bad dude buzzknucks on her left hand.

Could you talk a bit about how you decide on cover art for Prophet? Obviously it's done by a whole slew of artists, but most issues' covers tend to focus on environments, rather than characters or spaceships like you'd expect.

I have a folder of sci fi magazine covers I show people sometimes when they’re going to do Prophet covers.

The idea is to build the Prophet universe by showing old alien landscapes and creatures or scenes not shown in the comic. But if people want to draw the characters that’s cool too. I’m pretty casual I just want to get the ideas across to people who I trust to do good work and then leave them to it.

Hello, I really like your art but have never read a thing you have drawn. Where would you recommend I start? Side question: have you ever drawn a thing with gay people? I like having gay people in my comics.

Thanks.  My book King city might be a good place to start.it’s self contained and easy enough to find.

There’s some gay characters in my Multiple Warheads book but they’ll be more in the new stuff that comes out then they were in book#1.. Here’s a page.—

anyway I hope you like the stuff. I’ve come to think that what I do isn’t for everyone but I guess nuthing is.
