Hi Kelley! Since you've been writing mostly adult books before, how did you manage to move to YA successfully?

I have no idea. Luck? Timing? A combination of the two? LOL I had the luck to decide I wanted to write a paranormal YA for my daughter soon after Twilight came out, and then the timing meant that by the time my first YA was published, the Twilight series had just wrapped up, which left a huge audience looking for more paranormal YA. But beyond that, I did discover that I truly enjoy writing YA (or I’d have quit after the first trilogy) So even if the market is not nearly as big as it was, I keep writing it.

ok so what are the possibilities of darkest powers/darkness rising series being a movie i need to know for science

The rights to both have been sold. However, that doesn’t mean a movie or show is coming. In fact, it almost certainly won’t—about 95% of books optioned never go to film. That’s why I don’t mention options on my other works unless I’m asked point-blank. Otherwise, if I say something has been optioned, readers expect to see a film/show next year :)

Do you know when season two of bitten air's in america? My internet searches keep coming up cold on when SyFy plans to air it...

I honestly have no idea. I’d heard back in the spring that Syfy did renew, but my latest issue of EW doesn’t even include it in the winter TV schedule. Maybe something’s changed?

Your best bet would be to contact someone involved in the show. I’m not. At all :) I know there was some confusion last season because I was listed as a co-executive producer, but that was just an honorary credit. I’ve asked for that credit to be removed to season two to clarify the situation and give full credit to the creative team behind the show!

Which isn’t to say that I have another story planned right now, but I’m careful to keep my plot options open!
