Denmark Drops Its 25-Percent Vat on Books - Publishing Perspectives

25 percent VAT on books?Panzer's stop today was at the Publishing Perspectives site. There he found a post about Denmark's book VAT. According to Porter Anderson's post, Denmark has dropped it's 25-percent VAT on books to zero. The post examines the elimination on reading in the  country and elsewhere. Panzer says, "This little kitty thinks this is a smart move." Note: This is a very long post. Authors Guild Urges Members to Register Titles in Anthropic Lawsuit - Publishers Weekly

This is a major lawsuit.Panzer made a quick trip to the Publishers Weekly site today. Our speedy little kitty boy found a post about the Anthropic copyright lawsuit. Panzer linked to a post in June about some of Anthropic's authors' books use to train Claude. According to Jim Milliot's post, the Authors Guild is getting their membership involved in the class action lawsuit. The post includes links to the Authors Guild's notice to members and links to other information about the case. Panzer says, "If you're thinking about joining the class action lawsuit, be sure to read all the qualification requirements to join." Note: This is a medium length post. Diamond Bankruptcy Hearing Heats Up - Publishers Weekly

It's an interesting court case.Today, Panzer made a stop at the Publishers Weekly site. There he found a post about Diamond Comic Distributor's bankruptcy.
According to Jim Milliot's post, the publishers and vendors are still fighting Diamond's plans to sell their products without their permission. The post explains the bankruptcy case, the company's sale and the court decisions so far. The post contains links to other information about the bankruptcy. Panzer says, "This little kitty would never agree to consignment sales without a lot of company investigation first." Note: This is a short-medium length post. WorldCon was about 30 mile from us.On the Publishers Weekly site Panzer found a news release about the Hugo Awards. According to the news release, Robert Jackson Bennett won the Best Novel Award and Rebecca Roanhorse won the Best Series Award.
