Gratitude for Gumshoes - The Rap Sheet

Panzer was tootling around in the Catosphere, when suddenly the Panzermobile was shaken by clapping and cheering outside. Following all the jocularity, took our adventuresome kitty boy to The Rap Sheet site. There he discovered the Shamus Awards nominees.
J. Kingston Pierce lists all the nominees for the Private Eye Writers of America (PWA) Shamus Awards. There are four awards available. The winners will be announced in September.
Panzer says, "I don't see my name on there. So, once again, they skipped my cute catness."
Note: This is a short-medium length post. Bring a cup of tea for your reading.

European Publishers Welcome Parliment's 'AI Act' Draft Approval - Publishers Perspectives

On his way home Panzer made a quick stop at the Publishing Perspectives site. With no digging at all he found a post about AI.
According to Porter Anderson's post, the European Parliament has approved a draft with rules to standardize the use of artificial intelligence (AI). The post is divided into two sections. The first section deals with AI's use of copyrighted material and the transparency of that use. The second section deals with other known uses of AI. This is a draft and not a final proposal.
Panzer says, "There's a lot to read and understand in the post."
Note: This is a long post. Bring a cup of tea and a large muffin for your reading.

Remembering Cormac McCarthy - Literary Hub

At the Literary Hub site Panzer learned Pulitzer Prize winning author Cormac McCarthy has died.
Mr. McCarthy died yesterday (June 13) in Santa Fe, NM. The post is broken into sections of photos. As you scroll down the page clicking a photo's title will take you to a new post about him.
Panzer says, "Mom read me one of his books and I really liked it."
Note: Because each photo title is a new post this is very long. You'll need to decide what to bring to snack on while you read today's selection.
