Action! Suspense! Danger! Prizes! - The Rap Sheet

Panzer was shaken from his kitty bed by clapping and cheering coming from the Catosphere. Hopping in the Panzermobile, he followed all the jocularity to The Rap Sheet site.   Panzer says, Now, back to my nap. Now. Back to my nap.
There with hardly any digging at all, he discovered J. Kingston Pierce's post lists the winners of the International Thriller Writers (ITW) awards which were announced Saturday.
Note: Since the list of winners also includes all the nominees in each of the categories, it's very long. Rather than list everyone here, you can follow the link below.

Termination Fees in Publishing Contracts: Not Just Bad for Authors - Writer Beware (R)

Today, Panzer made a stop at the Writer Beware (R) site. With a little digging in the posts, he found one about publishing contracts.
Panzer says, Read every detail carefully. Read every detail carefully.
Victoria Strauss' post begins with some examples of early termination fees clauses in publishing contracts. She also includes some of the possible complications the termination fees can cause an author. As the title suggests the termination fees might also impact the publisher in an unfavorable way too.
Panzer says, "Contracts can be really complicated."
Note:This is a long post. Bring a cup of tea, a large muffin and two chocolate chip cookies for today's reading experience.
