New Firey Name Reveal Video Style
I have created a new firey style name reveal video. The fire is not that novel, but the way the text gets revealed, I feel, makes for an interesting motion graphics style. The best thing is, I can replicate this style with any stroke – not just text.
So if I am able to draw beautiful shapes or objects in After Effects, I can do this type of reveal animation with it. Cool, isn’t it?

#1. Coleman 495.3-in x 6.5-in x 29.21-in 2-Watt Portable Solar Panel
Let’s first do our bit to the environment, shall we? This little portable solar panel charger offers an excellent way to charge my mobile phones and tablets while I am out on a long trip or even at home.
I know there are power banks but even they get exhausted or I forget to take them. Even when I am out trekking, I can hang it on my bag in a way that the solar surface faces the sun. So I can charge my power banks or mobile devices by directly connecting to the panel. Solar charging is slow but makes power available during remote emergency situations.
#2. Frigidaire 3.3-cu ft Freestanding Mini Fridge (Silver Mist)
Oh, this little fridge is such a cutie pie. You’ll fall in love with it the moment you see it

Our Discussion with Celebrity Chef Saransh Goila @ WOAP Weekender, Chennai
Last Sunday (Nov. 10) we were invited for a Blogger Interaction session with Celebrity Chef, Restaurateur, TV Show Host & Author Saransh Goila. This was arranged on the backstage of WOAP Weekender, India’s largest multi-city Gourmet festival currently being organized at VR Mall, Chennai.
Saransh is the winner of Food Food Maha Challenge, a guest judge at MasterChef Australia, owner of Goila Butter Chicken restaurant in Mumbai, SadakChef TV host and author of food travelogue book, ‘India on my platter’ – to mention just a few of his accomplishments.
Around six bloggers from Chennai got a chance to interact with this celebrity chef who was also an actor earlier. He has successfully managed to combine his passion for traveling with his other passions to develop out-of-the-box recipes which may sometimes be a fusion of local and international cuisines.
Here is the edited video of our interaction along with a few pics taken at the WOAP Weekender event at VR Mall, Chennai –
In this interaction, he speaks about his favourite South Indian dishes, trends in the food/restaurant industry, how travel inspires him to select and experiment with new recipes, and much more.
Thanks to Philips who made this interaction possible. Philips Airfryer can air fry, bake, roast of grill your meal. It reduces the usage of oil drastically and the consequent odor it produces. You can make french fries, cakes, roasted nuts & veggies, and even pizza with it – all without oil. Check it out.

Japanese Film Festival 2019 Schedule for Chennai [PVR, VR Mall]
The Japanese Film Festival is being organized by Japan Foundation. They’ve partnered with PVR Cinemas to screen 25 Japanese movies (with English sub-titles) across 7 cities in India.
All these films are free of cost for the public. You just need to be at the venue one hour prior to the screening to collect your free passes.
At Chennai, the movies are being screened at PVR ICON, VR Mall, Annanagar from 8th Nov. to 17th Nov. 2019. Here is the full JFF Film schedule for Chennai-

Here is the video trailer made by Japan Foundation that gives glimpses into the movies that are being screened –
Today we got the opportunity to watch a Japanese movie named ‘Kingdom’. This is set in 3rd-4th Century B.C. where two young men pursue their ambition of Unifying China which was reeling under a 500-year war between its various territories.
This movie is an excellent historical war thriller. We loved it. It was a full house today at PVR ICON for the inaugural screening. They are hoping people of Chennai will show up in great numbers for the remaining shows too.
The JFF Film fest is playing movies across multiple genres like thriller, romance, comedy, animation, etc. Most of these movies are recent releases.
You can watch the individual movie trailers for most of the films being screened during this film festival from this Youtube Playlist.
As you can see in the above schedule some movies are repeated, so if you miss it once you can catch up the next time it is being screened.
Have a look at the Japanese Film Festival – India’s Facebook page for continuous updates and schedules for your city.

Oh, these MLM Meets!
On weekends, I attend meetups and events across the city. Mostly these are about marketing, business processes, social causes, or even creative skills.
That’s why, when I accidentally ended up going to an MLM meet – due to a misleading title and description given by the organizer, I didn’t have a clue about what to do!
MLM means Multi-Level Marketing. Basically, in the guise of making you a business owner – even a part-time one at that – they make you buy a lot of over-priced products and expect you to sell them through the ‘power of your network’.
If you are unable to do that, they encourage you to identify other ‘potential business owners’, again through the power of your network and expect you to sell the entire lot of products to those ‘business investors’ as well.
I have never been a fan of this business model so I don’t generally go to MLM Meets. However this time I was ‘accidentally’ in one.
First off, the venue was great. I took a few good photos and selfies. Thanks to the organizer for that

Golu at Vadapalani Murugan Temple
View this post on InstagramA post shared by Rajesh K (@wowsuper_net) on Oct 14, 2019 at 7:01am PDT
A few days back we went to the Vadapalani Murugan Temple, Chennai. We go to Temples for prasadam and stuff like that, but this time we went because of a whatsapp status that showed a video of the Golu dolls kept there for navarathri. Ya, we don’t allow such (photographic) opportunities to pass.
Since it was the last day of navarathri, there was a huge crowd – not at the golu section, but to see the main deity. Unfazed, we went straight to the small queue standing to see the golu dolls.
What luck, the idol of God Muruga was brought around the Temple and it passed by us

Iru Dhuruvam Tamil Web Series Launch by Sony Liv
View this post on InstagramA post shared by Rajesh K (@wowsuper_net) on Sep 30, 2019 at 6:52pm PDT
Sometimes we just want to relax by quickly watching something interesting or exciting, but can’t fugure out what or where. There is so much free stuff on TV and Youtube but they are not always good or engaging. That’s why Sony Liv is coming up with a series of original web-series that are available in short episodes and catch your attention right from the first minute.
Sony Liv is the premium mobile app that has a lot of regional and international entertainment content including movies, sports, cartoons, dubbed TV serials and original web series in multiple languages like Hindi, Tamil, etc.
Yesterday we were invited to the press meet at Taj Coromandel for the launch of Sony Liv‘s exclusive new Tamil web-series called “Iru Dhuruvam“.
Here is the gist of Iru Dhuruvam’s story –
“The show begins with a series of horrific murders that put the city in a state of shock and chaos overnight. Inspector David Viktor, a hawk-eyed cop is assigned to hunt down the killer. But what happens when the hunter himself becomes a prey? While investigating the brutal murders, he himself is under the scanner for his wife’s mysterious disappearance. Is there a connection between these two events?“
Here is the Video Trailer –
Running over 9 episodes of 20-30 minutes each – all available for streaming now, Iru Dhuruvam features actors Nandha Durairaj – one of the first popular Tamil movie actors venturing into the OTT space, Abhirami Iyer – former Miss Tamil Nadu and Big Boss participant, the young YouTube sensation Abdool, and popular theatre and film artist Sebastin.
Here is what the cast and crew that made Iru Dhuruvam had to say about this web-series during the launch event yesterday –
We were shown the first episode (20-minutes approx) of the show on the big screen. It was gripping. Unlike serials and movies, since there is not much room for slow and steady progress, in web-series the audience expects action right from the word go. So these are apt for binge-watching.

Veg. South Indian Restaurant @ Royapettah: Maamis Samayal, Regenta Central Deccan
Recently we got an opportunity to visit Maami Samayal restaurant @ Regenta Central Deccan Hotel, Royapettah, Chennai. (Google Maps link) The above-embedded video gives a few glimpses into the restaurant and the food offered there. The video also features a short interview with the main chef – Ms. Padma.
If you are in Chennai or if you are visiting Chennai on a business/personal trip, it’s a good idea to taste authentic South Indian dishes made by South Indians at this restaurant.
Currently, they offer traditional Brahmin-style lunch with rice, sambar, rasam, sweet, poriyal (vegetables), papad, dosa, side-dishes, and other items. It seems they also offer many types of South Indian traditional tiffin items in the late evenings.
The cook is a very friendly person as you can see in the video and she interacts with most customers and takes their feedback. Some customers even call her to find out what’s cooking for lunch or dinner as she changes the menu every day.
So please do visit and let know your experience in the comments below. Don’t forget to watch the video embedded above.
