When God Tells You to Get Rid of It

When God used to tell me to get rid of something or to let someone go, I hung on for dear life – to the thing or person. I was totally wrong. I had it all backwards. I called Jesus Lord but lived for me not for Him. I held on to the stuff and the people of this world not Jesus. But God has turned me around. He has taught me to live facing the right direction. Not facing the world but facing Him. Not holding onto the world for dear life but holding onto Him for dear life. The world is no longer m...

Don’t Forget to Love!

God’s greatest commands are to love Him with all our hearts and to love each other. He reminds us over and again in the Bible to love. We are to love continually in our thoughts, words, and actions – and to repent when are not. I believe we all need this reminder. DON’T FORGET TO LOVE!

Whatever we do in life, wherever we are in life, whomever we are with in life, no matter our circumstances, absolutely no matter what, we are to LOVE, LOVE, LOVE with the love God gives us by His Holy Spirit. Simp...

Don’t Be Lured Away!

“The enemy [devil]  is trying to lure you away from me,” the Holy Spirit spoke to my heart.

He was warning me because I just couldn’t see it. The devil was very slyly, subtly, tantalizingly trying to lure me away from God and what God wanted me doing with little distractions.

Now let me be ultra clear. The devil does not always come at us with really big and obvious temptations like getting drunk, doing drugs, overeating, adultery, losing our temper, stealing, lying, cheating, bitterness, refusi...

Don’t Stop Rejoicing!

God wants us to love, praise, honor, serve, obey, worship, sing to, give thanks to, glorify, and rejoice in and about Him now and forever. God deserves this, He is worthy of this, this blesses Him, and it feels absolutely amazing to do this. But while rejoicing in the Lord may come naturally when life is easy, comfortable, and going well, we may be prone to stop rejoicing when our life’s circumstances are hard and we are struggling.

We are told in the Bible to rejoice ALWAYS, but how can we rejo...

Inspired by How a Friend Prayed

When I asked three dear sisters in the Lord to pray about a possible beautiful blessing in my life and ministry, one responded this way:

“Praying and trusting God for the rest; all for His honor and glory. Amen,” she wrote me.

Interestingly, I could not tell if she meant to write “rest” or if she accidentally wrote “rest” instead of “best.” But both words were a perfect fit, and herein is how her prayer inspired me and now hopefully you.

God wants us to pray and to go forth resting and trusting ...

The true story of a homeless dog, a homeless man, and a broken woman. I was the broken woman. The homeless dog Red became one of the greatest blessings of my life and the co-founder of my ministry. Losing Red was one of the greatest tragedies of my life. But his amazing story lives on. I believe if you watch this video, your life will never be the same. Bring Kleenex….

Rejoice, Pray, & Give Thanks!

I read a Bible verse about rejoicing, praying, and giving thanks FOR YEARS before the Holy Spirit opened wide my eyes and heart and illuminated something vital I had somehow missed.

Please note in this verse how often God tells us to rejoice, pray, and give thanks.

“Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.” 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 NKJV

ALWAYS, yes, on an ONGOING BASIS, in other words CONTINUALLY, we are to REJOICE, PRAY...

Feeling Un-Thankful

Thanksgiving according to God and the Bible is not a once-a-year holiday but is to be our very way of life! But at times because of our life’s challenging circumstances and the world’s woes it may seem hard if not impossible to be thankful to the Lord.

Ever felt un-thankful? Feeling un-thankful now?

God desires and is deserving of our love, praise, honor, worship, and thanksgiving daily for Him, His love, and His endless goodness and blessings! Most of all for a forever relationship with Him and...

Don’t Let Grief Stop You!

The devil comes to steal, kill, and destroy (John 10:10), and time and again I have seen the devil try to use grief to stop myself as well as other people from going forward in the lives God has given us and in fulfilling His calling and purpose for us. I have learned three powerful truths when it comes to all this.

First, Jesus offers us an abundant life (John 10:10), and the Bible makes clear we can do all God calls us to do through Jesus who gives us strength (Phil. 4:13) and through the powe...

Goodbye Umbrella, Hello Joy!

I am thankful for umbrellas, particularly my hot pink umbrella that says New York City a zillion times all over it, but I would much prefer to never have a need for an umbrella. I am not a rainy day kind of woman. I love, love, love warm weather and sunshine!

The world is in dire straits now considering how many have their backs turned to God and are living in rebellion against Him. This coupled with our own personal trials and tribulations can make it seem like we need to keep our “umbrellas” o...
