She is a Human Being!

I was at an appointment communicating with a professional and feeling pretty miserable about how poorly I felt I was being treated and quite disappointed given how excited I had been about the prospect of finally finding some help I needed when the Holy Spirit moved strongly on my heart. As I looked at her face in the midst of my misery, God reminded me I was speaking to a  HUMAN BEING. Now you probably think that should have been perfectly obvious. Let me explain.

A beloved friend called me and started crying when she asked me for counsel and to pray about a certain situation that made her sad and I believe somewhat afraid. We talked. I prayed. The next day, we spoke again. I gave her some encouragement. We prayed again best I recall. Love. Honor. Praise. Glory. We tend to want this for ourselves, don’t we? The world teaches us to live for self. To seek, pursue, and obtain what brings us happiness, contentment, satisfaction, pleasure, etc. So when it comes to love, honor, praise, and glory, by nature we tend to want it for ourselves. To be loved. To be honored. To be praised. And to get  glory for what we do in life and for good things that happen.

Have You Really Let Go?

Have you really let go of what or whom God told you to let go? Or are you still holding on? Or did you let go for a season then go running back? If you look at me, I am quite sure you would say this body I have is Lara Love’s body. But I have finally discovered the truth. It is NOT my body. Nor is your body your body. Even if we act like our bodies are our bodies, truly they are not. They belong to God, and we should treat them as they do. In a manner that is honoring, pleasing, and glorifying to God.
