New Day, New Mercy - INSPIRATION

All I have to do is look at one single day of my life to realize how much I don't deserve God's mercy, and all I have to do is wake up the next morning to be astounded once more at how merciful our God is. That His mercy is new every morning, that His mercy endures forever, that He would continue to have mercy upon me no matter how many times I fall and no matter what kind of mess I make, that in itself is enough for me to praise Him forever. Is there any other god in this universe with mercy...

THANK YOU BILLY GRAHAM - BOOK PREVIEW

So I’ve just jumped in with both feet – and an eager heart – to read the soon-to-be-released, somewhat one-of-a-kind book called “ Thank You, Billy Graham: A Tribute to the Life and Ministry of Billy Graham, ” published by Barbour Publishing, Inc. and Shiloh Run Press and co-authored by Jerushah Armfield, Aram Tchividjian, Basyle Tchividjian. And I can honestly say I’ve jumped in deep enough to be able to give it a solid preview, if not review. The book is not only somewhat unique, but it is al...

BORN TO CLING - INSPIRATION

I am a clinger by nature. I have always clung. The trouble is I clung onto stuff and people. Tenaciously, passionately, relentlessly, and dangerously and sometimes deadly, I clung. I clung on for dear life, somehow convincing myself I needed some thing or some person to breathe – as though my very life depended on whatever thing or whatever person to which or to whom I clung. I was a clinger, alright. I still am.                I didn’t need to sto...

POCKETS-FULL OF SEED - Inspiration

Do you know what the Lord told me this morning? He told me to take the seed out of my pockets. What good will it do to have pockets full of seed? Then He reminded me how a beloved friend sent me a card just days ago with a whole bunch of seeds. No, not seeds for carrots and squash and such. God seeds! And sure, her generous donation to Walk by Faith Ministry was abundant seed. But the most beautiful seed in her card were all the encouraging words she sowed into my heart. She even wrote about...

Waiting on the Lord - DAILY INSPIRATION

God sandwiched me tonight in between two phenomenally precious sisters in the Lord with a strong command and confirmation through both of them in two separate long-distance telephone calls that He is calling me into a period of waiting on Him - of resting physically, emotionally, and spiritually, and of waiting. The word "waiting" in the Bible in the context of the scripture below does not merely mean to wait. It also means among other things to bind together with, and to expect. So I enter i...

I COULD USE SOME HELP......

Anyone who knows me knows that I don't ask very often, but I could sure use some help with this.
The ministry's mission to share the Gospel while ministering the Lord's love to a world in need includes preaching, teaching, praying, writing & publishing, one-on-one discipleship, streets ministry, distributing the Lord's provisions to people in need, and providing sanctuary-style care to 18 mostly special needs & senior dogs.

PARALYZED Mr. Simeon with DISABLED Little Miss Mira...

BROKEN AND FORGOTTEN - DAILY INSPIRATION

I have a heart for the broken and forgotten. It would be easy to assume that's because of my long history of brokenness and because I was lost, abused, neglected, rejected, abandoned and forgotten in so many ways. But that wouldn't be entirely true; that wouldn't be the only reason. For my heart for people and dogs that have experienced the same, or similar, and even more, is not merely because I can identify with the hurt and the heartache. It's because the Lord refused to leave me there; He...

She Cried My Tears - DAILY INSPIRATION

"Let's go sit in your car," I told my friend. She knew I had a confession to make. I wasn't about to bear my heart in the middle of the bookstore cafe. It was too quiet there. It would have been hard not to be heard by people at nearby tables, even with a whisper. Or, so my mind told me. It was enough I was willing to tell my friend at all what I felt I needed to say. I'm an incredibly open person, but some things are just so hard to say - especially when it comes to old wounds and how I find...

Micro Managed by God - DAILY INSPIRATION

"You don't need God to micro manage you," someone told me some time ago. "You don't need to go to him for absolutely everything," he essentially advised. Little did the person know. It's not about needing God to micro manage me, which I most assuredly do given my track record. It's that I want God to micro manage me.

For someone with a history of thinking I needed to be in control - a direct result, no doubt, of being totally out of control as a child in an ongoing traumatic circumstance - isn...

What's Going On with Me.......

Hey everyone, just wanted to let you know I'm taking a baby break - maybe just a few days, maybe a tiny bit longer - from my usual almost daily inspirational writing. Okay, since you asked, it's for two reasons. First, my life is extraordinarily intense & chock full of ministry opportunities that sometimes, believe it or not, cause me to need to get some REST! Second, I'm walking through a tiny, but significant, "rough patch" in which I am quite sure the Lord as always will bring more glo...
