Be Real – Need Help?

 I am feeling anxious, a young woman told me.

Oh, how she loves the Lord. She is so devoted to Him personally. And in ministry.

Shouldnt she act like she has it all together? Put on an appearance of perfection? Pretend like everything is always okay? After all, she is a Christian! And she is involved in ministry work!

No! She should not! Nor should I! Nor should you!

Fear of what others think of us and pride are sins that can keep us from humbling ourselves before God and others and admitting...

God’s Marketplace?

I was scanning through my emails when I noticed one I had overlooked. I opened it briefly just out of curiosity and concern. Sure enough, pretty much what I had thought. An advertisement inviting people in ministry to an expo focused on facilities and help for houses of worship for the market. Yes, for the market.

I cant speak for the Lord, but I wonder this. What must He think when we turn Christianity and church and worship into a business and market and try to make money helping people...

Down on My Face

The Lord compelled me to get on my knees before I left my motel room to sit in the sunshine and write. I resisted. Then I relented as I should have in the first place without resistance and went one step further. I got on my knees. Then on my face. I leaned my face down to the floor. I repented. For my bad attitude, impatience, and temper. He forgave me. Cleaned me. And gave me a fresh start for the day and for the rest of my life. He washed away my despicable sin.
