My thoughts:

Ok I might be a little biased as I love Mary she was on my radio show and you can’t help but fall in love with her and her books.  Below this review is a link to the show if you would like to listen in about this book and the next one.

I have read all of this series so far and love it.  You don’t have to read the others to understand this book.  It can be read alone, but trust me you will want to grab the others.  Martha rose is 55 not your average quilter.  Her friend from high school has passed and she was named executor of her state.  It turns into a fill time job for Martha it seems. She learns Harriet was murdered so you know what she has to do now.

As Martha digs into the past the more her life is in jeopardy.  With her friends Lucy and Birdie they will find out the truth as to what happened.

The author does a great job with her scenes and the story line you will be pulled into the story right away and feel like you are helping Martha in her search for results.  Get your copy now.

As mentioned below is the radio show.

Sale Blitz for THE TROUBLE WITH LOVE by Lauren Layne

THE TROUBLE WITH LOVE
Sex, Love & Stiletto’s #4
Lauren Layne
Loveswept

As Lauren Layne’s salacious Sex, Love

& Stiletto series returns, a jaded columnist discovers a steamy way to get

over an old flame: falling for him all over again.

As

Stiletto magazine’s authority on all things breakup-and-heartache, Emma

Sinclair writes from personal experience. Five years ago, Emma was Charlotte,

North Carolina’s darling debutante and a blushing bride-to-be. Now she’s the

ice queen of the Manhattan dating scene. Emma left her sultry Southern drawl

behind, but not even her closest friends know that with it she left her heart.

Now Emma’s latest article forces her to face her demons—namely, the devilishly

sexy guy who ditched her at the altar.

After

giving up everything for a pro-soccer career, Alex Cassidy watches his dreams

crumble as a knee injury sidelines him for good. Now he’s hanging up his cleats

and giving journalism a shot. It’s just a coincidence that he happens to pick a

job in the same field, and the same city, as his former fiancée . . . right?

But when Emma moves in next door, it’s no accident. It’s research. And Alex

can’t help wondering what might have been. Unlike the innocent girl he

remembers, this Emma is chic, sophisticated, and assertive—and she wants

absolutely nothing to do with him. The trouble is, Alex has never wanted her

more.

Booked for Trouble by Eva Gates Review

Lighthouse Library Mystery #2

The author of By Book or By Crook returns to the Outer Banks and the Lighthouse Library, where Lucy Richardson must shed light on a shocking murder…

Lucy has finally found her bliss as a librarian and resident of the Bodie Island Lighthouse. She loves walking on the beach, passing her evenings with the local book club, bonding with the library cat, Charles, and enjoying the attention of not one, but TWO eligible men. But then her socialite mother, Suzanne, unexpectedly drops in, determined to move Lucy back to Boston—and reunite her with her ex-fiancé.

To make matters worse, Suzanne picks a very public fight at the local hotel with her former classmate Karen Kivas. So, when Karen turns up dead outside the library the next morning, Suzanne is immediately at the top of the suspect list. Now Lucy must hunt down a dangerous killer—before the authorities throw the book at her poor mother.

Series: A Lighthouse Library Mystery (Book 2)
Mass Market Paperback: 304 pages
Publisher: NAL (September 1, 2015)
Language: English
ISBN-10: 045147094X
ISBN-13: 978-0451470942

My thoughts:

This book is the second in the Lighthouse Library series by Eva Gates.  I have not read the first one but I had no problem following along. I love Lucy Richardson and her friends at the Library.  She has left her ex fiancee back in Boston and has moved the Outer Banks NC.  She is really lucky to be living at the top of the lighthouse. Suzanne her mother is a bit over the top and comes to visit Lucy to convince her to move back to Boston.  Lucy also has 2 very interesting gentleman buying for her attention.

When an old Classmate of Suzanne’s is found dead she is the prime suspect after having an argument earlier.  Lucy has to help her mom and prove her innocence but also the reputation of the library.

The author does a wonderful job with all the characters in the book.  The cat is too cute.  There is also a local legend of a lighthouse ghost called The Lady and lets not forget the politician who is trying to gain from this murder.

You are left guessing up until the end of who the real murder is.  I can say there are no spoilers in this book if you have not read the first one.  This can be read as a stand alone.  I will be checking out this authors other books.

She does so well with her writing you can actually picture yourself in the story right along with Lucy.

Well done.

I received this book by the author for an honest review.
