Interview with Rachel Brimble
Babs….When did you know you wanted to write?
I was very young…as in nine or ten…but I didn’t start a serious intent toward publication until 2005 when I was thirty-one. School, getting a ‘real job’ and two babies came first, but once the youngest started school full-time, I had my ‘now or never’ moment!
Babs…..What would you like your readers to get out of Christmas At The Cove?
Pure festive enjoyment and a sense of contentment – the book is set in my fictional UK seaside town of Templeton Cove and is the fourth in my Harlequin Superromance series (although the books can be read stand-alone), so I wanted to explore the Cove around the holidays. The story is full of emotion, family, children and fighting for true love against the odds.
Babs…..Do you have a current project in the works?
Always! I am currently working on the first draft of my fourth Victorian romance with eKensington. This is Jane’s and Matthew’s story who were secondary characters in book three, What A Woman Desires, coming in Jan 2015. The writing is going well so far…long may it last!
Babs…..Do you have a ritual when you are writing? ie coffee, music, food etc
Not a ritual as such but I do start each working day with my much needed cup of coffee – I treat my writing as full time work so it’s a case of keeping my butt in the chair from 8.30-5.30, five days a week.
Babs…..Hobbies outside of writing?
I love to knit, walk the English countryside with my family and dog, or watch far too much TV. My favorite shows are US drama series, British period dramas or documentaries on the British monarchy.
Babs….What book or books are you currently reading?
I am currently reading The Yard by Alex Grecian which is a fabulous, if sometimes gory, crime novel set in Victorian London, a year after the notorious Ripper murders. SO good! I have already bought Grecian’s backlist (don’t tell Mr. B!). On my kindle, I have just started Mary Mark’s Forget Me Knot – a cozy mystery. I love Mary’s style and characters already, brilliant! As you can see I am on a ‘crime’ reading mission right now, but sproadically flit from ‘romance’ to ‘history’ missions too.
Babs….If you could be one character from one of your books who would it be?
I would love to be Cat Forrester/Garrett from my Templeton Cove series – she is the Detective Inspector of the town and features in almost all the books. She is feisty, sexy and can quietly bring down any offender. Love her!
Babs…Favorite drink?
Day – coffee or water
Evening – chilled white wine
Babs…..What is your favorite ice cream?
Mint choc-chip or coconut
Babs….What is your favorite food?
Chicken Satay
Babs…Anything else you would like to add?
More family for Christmas?
Scott Walker doesn’t have time for a relationship. The sexy mechanic has career
ambitions, not to mention a mother and three sisters to take care of. The last thing he
needs is Carrie Jameson, the beauty he never forgot, arriving in Templeton Cove over
the holidays with some unexpected news.
Scott still finds Carrie irresistible, and he’s not one to shirk responsibility. Scott’s
issues with his own dad make the prospect of parenthood a minefield. But if he and
Carrie can overcome their fears, this Christmas could bring them the best gift of all.

Cranberries & Spice Thanksgiving #Bloghop ~ Erotic Romance
Welcome to my stop of the blog hop.
For my stop I have the pleasure of having a few erotica authors from Musa Publishing offering up their ebooks for giveaways. I have also asked Brita Addams for a quick post.
Giveaway is at the bottom
Erotica vs Porn
All too often, erotica is mistakenly described in reviews as porn. There are vast differences. Since I wrote my first book, I’ve explored the subject.
In my reader experience, erotica comes in different stripes, while a common theme is explicit and abundant sex. Some are centered around the sexual experience for the characters, while other stories are both character or story driven, supported by how the sexual activity impacts their lives.
Porn, however, is strictly about the sex and any story that might be present loosely connects the sex scenes.
While all have their audiences, Musa Publishing’s Eros line focuses on bringing readers high quality erotica.
As a reader, I love well-written, character-driven erotic romance and erotica. I’ve read more than my share of historical erotic romance, which is my particular reading of choice. I love plot, characters, and an engrossing story, along with hot sex.
I don’t, however, read books that simply detail a jumble of body parts finding their counterparts and humping, sucking or well, you get the idea. There is no story, no plot, no characters, save the handsome, well-hung, long-haired, tattooed guy and the eager-to-please, not the least bit surprised when he’s climbs through her kitchen window – chippy, who seems to understand the look in his eyes the moment she sees him.
She opens her mouth, the scene goes to black, and the next thing you know, they’re hanging from the foyer chandelier, banging away for a time well past human endurance. Fast forward, because frankly, all that banging away looks the same after awhile, and low and behold, the next vignette is exactly the same, save for a different well-hung, long-haired tattooed guy and yet another eager-to-please, not the least bit surprised that he’s climbed through her kitchen window, chippy.
I’m proud that my historical erotica Sapphire Club series has found a home in the Musa Eros line. I join wonderful authors who pour their hearts and souls into the stories they write.
I invite everyone to study the offerings in the Eros line on the Musa website. If you love erotica, you will want to scoop up every book in this line. Get to know all the authors’ work and I guarantee you’ll be glad you did.
Musa’s Eros Line produces wonderful stories for every reading taste. Down and gritty or full stories, Eros has it all.
About Brita Addams:
Born in a small town in upstate New York, Brita Addams has made her home in the sultry south for many years. In the Frog Capital of the World, Brita shares her home with her real-life hero—her husband, and a fat cat named Stormee. All their children are grown.
Given her love of history, Brita writes both het and gay historical romance. Many of her historicals have appeared on category bestseller lists at various online retailers.
Musa Publishing publishes Brita’s heterosexual historical romances, including the rewritten and expanded, best-selling Sapphire Club series, each with new titles. Again, each of the titles have again hit the best-selling lists at various online vendors.
Tarnished Gold, the first in her gay romance Tarnished series for Dreamspinner Press, was a winner in the 2013 Rainbow Awards, Historical Romance category. The book also received nominations for Best Historical and Best Book of 2013 from the readers of the Goodreads M/M Romance Group.
A bit of trivia—Brita pronounces her name, Bree-ta, and not Brit-a, like the famous water filter. Brita Addams is a mash-up of her real middle name and her husband’s middle name, with an additional d and s.

Cranberry Bluff book Blitz/tour
Cranberry Bluff by Deborah Garner
Molly Elliott’s quiet life in Tallahassee, Florida, is disrupted when routine errands land her in the wrong place at the wrong time: the middle of a bank robbery. Accused and cleared of the crime, she flees both media attention and mysterious, threatening notes, to move across the country to Cranberry Cove, where she has inherited her Aunt Maggie’s bed and breakfast on the Northern California coast. Her new beginning is peaceful – that is, until five guests show up at the inn for a weekend, each with a hidden agenda.
Mix together one blushing honeymoon couple, one flamboyant boutique owner, a deadpan traveling salesman, and a charmingly handsome novelist, and there’s more than scones cooking at Cranberry Cottage Bed and Breakfast. As true motives become apparent, will Molly’s past come back to haunt her or will she finally be able to leave it behind?
Author Deborah Garner
Deborah Garner is an accomplished travel writer with a passion for back roads and secret hideaways. Born and raised in California, she studied in France before returning to the U.S. to attend UCLA. After stints in graduate school and teaching, she attempted to clone herself for decades by founding and running a dance and performing arts center, designing and manufacturing clothing and accessories, and tackling both spreadsheets and display racks for corporate retail management. Her passions include photography, hiking and animal rescue. She speaks five languages, some substantially better than others. She now divides her time between California and Wyoming, dragging one human and two canines along whenever possible.

About the Author:
Fay Lee followed the adage that “the best science fiction writers are engineers”. Now, after two decades of developing technical understanding, honing research skills and learning to write on demand, the need to create fiction is asserting itself with the insistence of a slowly blossoming bomb.
She pines for a cat and to travel more but recognizes that these are mutually incompatible without serious advances in genetic engineering, teleportation or the responsibility levels of her neighbors’ children.

Interview with Author Lisa Olech

Author photo courtesy of Jenny Sinclair Photography
Today I have the pleasure of having a wonderful author on the blog today.
Lisa Olech
When did you know you wanted to write?
I’d love to tell you I’d been born with a silver pen in my mouth, but alas, no. I started about ten years ago writing humorous shorts and memoire. I decided to try National Novel Writers Month a couple of years later, and fell in love with novel length…and here we are!
What would you like your readers to get out of your books?
I would love for my readers to have a good time, to escape the hectic bustle of their lives for an hour or two and let me tell them a story. I’d be thrilled if I could make them laugh. I’ve heard I’ve made a few cry. Maybe fall in love with falling in love again. Feel that first glance, remember that first kiss. That’s why I write romance.
Do you have a current project in the works?
Always!! Writing two series, in two sub-genres, with two separate publishers means the ultimate in juggling. But I think it works with my personality. It sure keeps things interesting around here! Right now, I’m writing book #3 in the Stoddard Art Series.
Do you have a ritual when you are writing?
I’m a morning writer, so I get up before the sun most days. Coffee is not only essential, it is mandatory!! My ‘writer’s cave’ is in the bay window of my bedroom. What I discovered is that if I went downstairs into the kitchen each morning to get my nectar of the gods; aka coffee, I would end up empting the dishwasher, starting the laundry, taking care of the cats, etc. Before I knew it, half the morning would be gone, and I’d never get back upstairs to write. SO, being the brilliant woman that I am, I moved a small, one-cup coffee maker up into the bedroom!! Most amazing thing I’ve done in a long time!! Get out of bed, push a button, angels sing!!
What are your favorite characters to write?
I do love writing tenacious female characters. If they can make me laugh, even better.
Hobbies outside writing?
Being a working artist as well as a writer doesn’t leave a whole lot of time for hobbies, but I think reading and writing go hand in hand. I also enjoy my gardens. I’m a knitter and a baker of bread.
If you could be one character from one of your books, who would it be?
Oh, unfair. Isn’t this like asking which child is my favorite? If I was held down and tortured, I’d have to confess that there is one character I really love. I had the best time writing her story. She appears in all the books of my Captains of the Scarlet Night series. Her name is Alice and she’s awesome. I love her strength, her bravery, her loyalty. Every challenge and conflict I threw at her she rose above with a sense of steely grace. And she loves rum!
Favorite drink?
Have I mentioned coffee? Hot, strong, with a splash of cream. Now on a steamy July evening, I do enjoy a tall, cold gin and tonic! One. I’m not a professional drinker. However, if I’m visiting a bar, I order a Cosmopolitan. Something sophisticated about drinking a martini… Plus I can tie the cherry stem in a knot with my tongue…classy!
What is your favorite ice cream?
When my family and I lived in northern Virginia, there was this little place called Pack’s. They made the best frozen custard on the planet. My favorite was their vanilla….with rainbow sprinkles!
What is your favorite food?
Anything I personally don’t have to cook!

Tess In Boots Blog tour & guest post
Anaiah Press proudly presents
TESS IN BOOTS by Courtney Rice Gager,
Guest post
How did you come up with the idea for Tess in Boots and why did you choose contemporary romance?
Some ideas come to me out of nowhere, but Tess in Boots was different. When I set out to write this story, I wanted to be intentional about creating a high-stakes love story that would keep readers turning the pages to find out what happens next. I knew I wanted to bring my main character to an uncomfortable place, because I believe people are given the opportunity to be the most genuine when they step out of their comfort zone. That is to say, sometimes we can become committed to playing a given role in our daily lives, and before long we’re locked into certain expectations. Perhaps they come in the form of social pressures, financial obligations, or time commitments. Plucking my character out of what she knew allowed her to take a hard look at herself and her priorities, which makes for good internal conflict. And lastly, I knew I wanted to set the story on a vineyard. I grew up with grapevines in my backyard, and my family went through a homemade winemaking phase at one point. So I wanted to incorporate this part of my background into the book. And besides, a vineyard makes for a beautiful setting! Perfect for a love story. From there, it all came together and the characters took on lives of their own. There were times while writing when even I was surprised by where the story turned, and that was a really cool experience.
If I’m being honest, I didn’t focus on a genre when I was writing Tess in Boots. I just wrote the story, and it ended up being a contemporary romance. I hesitate to admit that, because it’s probably not the best way to go about things, but it’s the truth. A lot of the genre fitting happened during the editing process. For the initial write-through, I gave myself the freedom to fall in love with the story without forcing it to fit into a certain mold. I hope readers will pick up on the fact that this story was a pleasure to write, because it truly was!

Now for the interiew:
Babs….When did you know you wanted to write?
Diane: I have been a writer for as long as I can remember. I’ve always loved to create
stories, even if I haven’t always written them on paper. When people ask what I want to do
when I retire, my first answer is write!
Babs…..What would you like your readers to get out of Death of a Jaded Samurai?
Diane: That you can always start over and do the things you think you cannot. In my novel,
my heroine Gilda has started over after a long term relationship and is learning karate. She
is struggling to have faith in herself and her abilities.
Babs…..Do you have a current project in the works?
Diane: Eternally! I am currently working on Book 2 in my Yin-Yang Series then Book 4 in
my Wild Blue Mysteries series. Thanks to an anthology I am participating in this
December (Cozy Christmas Capers from Gemma Halliday Publishing) I’m developing yet
a third series! You never know where and when the muse will strike!
Babs…..Do you have a ritual when you are writing? ie coffee, music, food etc
Diane: In the warmer seasons, I love to sit on my back deck with a cup of coffee and a
notebook. Come winter, I curl up on my couch or at my desk. I find instrumental music
easier to work to. I stop thinking about being critical or anything else and can focus.
Babs…..Hobbies outside of writing?
Diane: I practice gojy-ryu karate and am currently a blue belt. I also love hiking, traveling,
and cooking with my kids.
Babs….What book or books are you currently reading?
Diane: Knot in My Backyard by Mary Marks & Deadline by Maggie K. Black, a fellow
Canadian. I also have a large stack of books to read by my fellow authors at Gemma
Halliday publishing!
Babs….If you could be one character from one of your books who would it be?
Diane: I think all of my characters carry bits of me, but if I could be one of my characters,
I’d be a younger version of Mimsy Lexington from my Wild Blue Mysteries. Mimsy is
eccentric, could care less what everyone thinks of her and wears ball gowns and tiaras
while she treks around town on her walker! She is the 80 year old I aspire to be!
Babs…Favorite drink?
Diane: White wine or Rooibos tea.
Babs…..What is your favorite ice cream?
Diane: I have two favs Raspberry Cheesecake and Key Lime Pie
Babs….What is your favorite food?
Diane: Pumpkin Soup from a local Thai place. Best comfort food ever! And pumpkin pie

Until Danny Walker shows up to visit family and figures out who she is.

Interview with Author Tony Lee
What is the book about?
Playing Mrs Kingston is a suspense thriller and murder mystery that follows Catriona Kingston, a struggling actress in New York City, who receives an incredible part to play a rich man’s wife. But things go awry when he is murdered and Catriona finds herself with the title of Mrs. Kingston and the target of the murderer. The story is full of glamorous characters you would like to meet at a party, with colorful dialogue, costumes and settings, set against the backdrop of 1950s America.
What inspired you to write the book?
I’ve always been inspired by people pretending to be someone they are not. To some degree we all put on a front to others in life and at work. I was inspired by the writing of Patricia Highsmith, particularly Strangers on a Train and The Talented Mr. Ripley, both books feature characters who assume other identities. I also love irony and coincidence and was greatly inspired by Thomas Hardy as a teenager.
How has Alfred Hitchcock influenced your work?
I’ve written three books on Alfred Hitchcock and he was a master storyteller and a great entertainer. He followed several principles when constructing a screenplay, including the sudden shifting of locations, giving the audience information to create suspense, using both locations and props to advance your plot and writing dialogue with subtext. I followed these rules when writing my novel, and discuss them in more detail in my book Alfred Hitchcock’s Movie Making Masterclass published by Michael Wiese Books.
Tell us about you as a writer?
I’m a television producer and documentary filmmaker and have been fortunate to travel the world with my work, which has brought me into contact with many different kinds of people and situations. I’m storing half a dozen novel ideas from these experiences, which I plan to write in the next few years. I love New York, where I worked for six months, and have written two books set in the city. New York is such a vibrant cosmopolitan city of different cultures and that is reflected in my novel which is populated by Italians, Polish, Swiss, German and South African immigrants.
Who do you think will enjoy your book?
I think anyone who enjoys a good yarn will like this book. Definitely one for mystery and suspense lovers, those who are interested in the 1950s period settings and anyone who would like to follow the protagonist through the glamorous settings of Manhattan
Book Synopsis
Tony Lee Moral’s murder mystery/love story Playing Mrs. Kingston, is now available. Published by Porfirio Press, and imprint of Zharmae Publishing Press!
