The Musings of a New Writer
Thanks for stopping by. If someone had told me three years ago I would be sitting here designing my webpage and anxiously awaiting my first book being published; I would have laughed and said, “Yeah right!” Funny how fast things change.
I started my original writing about three years ago, with no plans of ever getting published. Truth be told, I did it to shut my daughter up. I had been trying to get her to write down those feelings that she just couldn’t seem to express forever, and one day she threw it back in my face.
“Hey mom, you are no better at controlling your emotions than I am. Why don’t you write? You could write your life story; all about your crappy childhood and subsequent marriage failure; and then how you and daddy met and fell happily in love ever-after.” If only it worked that way. But, since she was taking a stab at writing, I figured I might as well join her. Before you knew it, I had a complete book. Mind you, it was a very rough around the edges book, but it was a book nonetheless! I had so much fun writing it I decided to start on the second book.
Somewhere around the twenty-something revision, I totally overhauled the book to erotic. After all, it was what I read, and the more I wrote, the more I felt drawn to write the same. So I did. Since then, I’ve overhauled the first two books of the Vampires Among Us series, written one other, The Music Box (currently being considered by Siren), and I am currently working on overhauling book three of the Vampire series, as well as starting on a new Were series.
And my daughter, well I graduated her last spring from homeschool high school; and she has plans to start classes in the fall to pursue her dreams of writing. In the meantime, while writing is her passion, she has also ventured out to explore the world of modeling. We just finished her first photo shoot last week and have hopes that her face will appear on a book cover or two! So if you see a few photos on this website of a beautiful young lady, trust me, they are not me! They would be of my beautiful baby girl!
