Weekly Notes, February 16, 2015
Straight from the desk of Alice Brown & Lady V:
We have been busy writing this week, and are fast approaching those famous two words, "the end" for Rubinmire, Dragons of Dragonose 5! We are hoping to be done with it by the end of this week! What's next? Well, we are almost at the half way point in both My Ballerina, and Adorellan, Dragons of Dragonose 6, so we will be working to get those completed next. After that....who knows! We'll just have to see what characters start yelling after that.
Hope everyone had a great Valentine's Day. Hubby is getting me a new Kindle Fire since my old kindle is close to dying completely. I can't wait to get ahold of it and try it out!

We have especially enjoyed watching King Thoran run around chasing his tail as he attempts to figure out the best way to woo his mate, it has been quite entertaining! Hopefully, our writers will be able to announce soon the completion of the book, and then we'll be able to give you all a release date!

Hi everyone! I think I like this holiday that just passed called Valentine's Day. My humans made me some homemade dog treats and I had planned to share them with my girl, but unfortunately, she hasn't been down to see me in several days. She injured one of her legs, and her humans are making her stay on bed rest at her house until she heals. I'm saving some of my goodies to share with her when she does make it back down to see me.
I watched my human daddy give the ladies in the house a big heart shaped box of candy each, which I thought was really sweet. What I didn't think was sweet though, is that they won't share any with me! They keep saying something about chocolate not being good for me...hmph!

We are happy to report that health issues are finally starting to recede and life is slowly getting back to normal in the Brown household. We made some good progress on several books. Leading the pack right now is Rubinmire, Dragons of Dragonose 5, but progress was also made in Adorellan, Dragons of Dragonose 6, My Ballerina, and My Beloved She Wolf. Want to take a quick moment to thank everyone for your well wishs, ecards, and gifts while we were down. We are truly blessed to have the best fans in the world!
Hope to be able to deliver some news soon on release dates! Hope everyone has a wonderful Valentine's Day!

Hi everyone! Is everyone ready for Valentine's Day? I am! I've got the perfect date with my girl planned, thanks to a very helpful fan. I had been pondering on how to set up the perfect doggie date, and someone evidently knew I could use some help. A fan sent in an email with a recipe for homemade dog treats that look delicious! I printed it off and left it on the kitchen counter for my humans to find. My human mommy has promised to get the ingredients she needs when she goes to the store Tuesday and make them for me at the end of the week. Then, I'm going to have a few put aside on a pretty plate so when my girl comes down to see me Valentine's morning, I'll surprise her with them! Pretty cool, hey? I'll be sure to fill you in next week on how our day went. Happy Valentine's Day!

We are beating back the winter blues, crud, aches and pain with everything we have. That being said, we are also working on several stories. Both King Thoran and Adorellan's stories have been started, as well as Their Ballerina and our secret new series. No, we haven't had an snow, we live a bit too far to the south and east of NC for that. Instead we are dealing with a lot of cloudy, cold, and rain. Ugh, can't wait for spring to get here.
So, how are all of our Northern friends fairing? Hope nobody had problems with the blizzard that hit the NE part of the US several days ago. And who else out there is ready for spring? Here's a little something to help tide us over until warm weather and pretty flowers can be found.
Now, one last thing, we need your help! We have been nominated for two different awards, but we need your vote to make it to the next level. It wasn't us this time! Nope, it wasn't us that kept Alice from getting a lot accomplished in her new wolf shifter book! We had nothing to do with her back giving out on her, so we are off the hook this week! Yay! Still, we got a sneak peak into some of the work she did manage to get done and it does look good! Hope everyone is well. Blain bought a new big TV for us dragons to watch the Super Bowl on. It may have happened that someone (um...ur, me) might have accidently scorched the old one.
We are also getting ready for Valentine's Day! Oh yes, we dragons were excited to find out there was actually a holiday set aside just for showing your sweetheart you care about them! So, while arguing over what size TV we dragons need, we are also discussing plans for the upcoming holiday!-Sapphamire

Hi everyone! So, I am hearing about this upcoming holiday, Valentine's Day? And I am being told that it is a day to tell your sweetheart you love them. Now, I don't understand why there has to be one certain day for this. I go outside every morning first thing and howl a "good morning" and "I love you sweetheart" to my honey. She lives next door, but there is a large field between the two houses. She always yips back a greeting to me, and then we have a lovely conversation.
So now I am trying to figure out what special thing I can do for her for Valentine's. Anyone have any suggestions for a good looking dog like me? A nice bone? A big stick?

Weekly Notes, January 26, 2015
Straight from the desk of Alice Brown & Lady V:
What a week! Not only have we been plagued with colds, and working hard on Their Ballerina, The Wolf Childs Pack 1; but the dragons have thrown such a fit, these characters refused to be put on hold another minute, let alone a day. So, Rubinmire, Dragons of Dragonose 5, which is King Thoran's story, has been started.
Now, you are probably wondering on the timing. You and me both. It is going to be interesting at this point to see which story gets done first, Their Ballerina, or Rubinmire! I know everyone is waiting patiently on both, and they will be be coming shortly, I promise. This is the first time I've had two complete sets of characters in my mind at the same time. Nerve wracking? Yes!
Also, as if all that were not enough, Lady V and I came up with another brand new series that is going to remain a big secret for now. This will be far different than our usual paranormal romance that we are known for, but I know you all are going to love it when it is finished! First book in this series we are looking to have out early summer. Lady V is doing some research for this new series and will be starting the book some time this coming week.
So hold onto your seats! We promised a busy, fulfilling 2015, and we aim to make that statement into reality!~Alice

Woot-woot!!! We finally made enough noise, we gave them no choice but to listen! Did you read the above? The part where King Thoran's story, Rubinmire, Dragons of Dragonose 5 has been started? Yay! We've been bugging the authors, like....day and night ever since Remathyst was finished, and Alice for one, has been ignoring us.
But not anymore! Nope, she finally gave up pretending we aren't around and gave in to start writing the story. Should we feel sorry that she was in the middle of another story? Ehh, probably, but hey, we are dragons, hear us roar and feel our breath of fire licking down your spine! We knew our writers couldn't ignore us very much longer.
Now that the story has been started, hopefully we can keep their (our writers) attention on us and get the book to you soon!--Your favorite dragons

Hi everyone! It feels like forever since I last chatted with everyone. Hope you all are doing good. Well, since the last time we talked, I got to celebrate my mommy's birthday, help her open her presents (although I didn't understand why none of the gifts weren't for me), eat birthday cake and ice cream, oh, and I got to go mudding!
Mudding, you ask. Yes, mudding, and I don't mean in a big truck. No, it rained so hard and so much that our back yard was a swamp for a few days, and so every time I went outside, I went mudding. Or at least that's what the humans called it as they went through rag towels like crazy trying to get the mud off my feet before they would let me back in. They kept going on about something that had to do with tan carpet and black paws not mixing. Not sure exactly what all that meant, I just know I was forced to stand still and have them dry me off and then wipe my paws good before they would let me back in the house!

What a week! Not only have we been plagued with colds, and working hard on Their Ballerina, The Wolf Childs Pack 1; but the dragons have thrown such a fit, these characters refused to be put on hold another minute, let alone a day. So, Rubinmire, Dragons of Dragonose 5, which is King Thoran's story, has been started.
Now, you are probably wondering on the timing. You and me both. It is going to be interesting at this point to see which story gets done first, Their Ballerina, or Rubinmire! I know everyone is waiting patiently on both, and they will be be coming shortly, I promise. This is the first time I've had two complete sets of characters in my mind at the same time. Nerve wracking? Yes!
Also, as if all that were not enough, Lady V and I came up with another brand new series that is going to remain a big secret for now. This will be far different than our usual paranormal romance that we are known for, but I know you all are going to love it when it is finished! First book in this series we are looking to have out early summer. Lady V is doing some research for this new series and will be starting the book some time this coming week.
So hold onto your seats! We promised a busy, fulfilling 2015, and we aim to make that statement into reality!~Alice
From the land of Dragonose!Woot-woot!!! We finally made enough noise, we gave them no choice but to listen! Did you read the above? The part where King Thoran's story, Rubinmire, Dragons of Dragonose 5 has been started? Yay! We've been bugging the authors, like....day and night ever since Remathyst was finished, and Alice for one, has been ignoring us.
But not anymore! Nope, she finally gave up pretending we aren't around and gave in to start writing the story. Should we feel sorry that she was in the middle of another story? Ehh, probably, but hey, we are dragons, hear us roar and feel our breath of fire licking down your spine! We knew our writers couldn't ignore us very much longer.

Hope everyone is staying warm! Here in North Carolina, we have just experienced some of the coldest temperatures this winter. Unfortunately, we live a bit too far south and east to have seen any snow.
So, while it has been too cold to get outside, Lady V and I have been busy working on our writing! We have started the first book in a new series, Their Ballerina, The Wolf Child's Pack Series, 1. Yes, we have many surprises for you lined up for this new year! This is just the first of many more to come! We have two other new series we are anticipating getting off the ground this year, as well as continue in your favorites: Dragons of Draognose, Texas Vampire Rangers, and My Beloved Series! So, it will be a very busy year for us, but one that we are looking forward to. Be sure to check below for a sneak peak into Their Ballerina, The Wolf Child's Pack Series 1 under the book quote section.

We dragons have been busy but we do have a bit of news to share with you.
Although our creators are currently working on a new series, we overheard them
discussing things and have learned that King Thoran's story will be next in line of
Dragons of Dragonose series! They are planning on starting it just as soon as they
finish the current work in progress! Yay!
We know many of you have asked when our wonderful King's story was coming, so
we wanted to keep you updated. We will be sure to keep you updated as to the latest
developments once the authors start writing the story. We are also hoping to to sneak a
few peaks at the work in progress so we can share with you!

Gabriel Child's looked down at the fragile human female in front of him. Beaten and left for dead. On his property. And that sat about as well with him as the eggs he had eaten for breakfast turning in his stomach. “What do you want to do with her?” His beta, and younger brother by one year, inquired. “You want me to take her to the human hospital, and hope and pray she doesn’t die on the way?”
Gabriel continued starring down at the tiny thing at his feet. His brother was kneeling down beside her, checking her pulse, putting his hands on her, and his wolf was snapping and snarling inside of him. What was it about this female that was calling to his wolf, and why was it suddenly so possessive over this tiny human female? Did it just want retribution over the injustice done to her? Gabriel didn’t think so. He’d been around for many years and had seen his share of violence. Never before had his wolf reacted this way.
“Alpha?” Matthew’s voice brought him out of his musings. He would have to figure out what this tiny scrap of a human meant to his wolf later. For now, if they didn’t get her medical help, she wouldn’t make it much longer out in the cold.
“Take her to doc’s. We don’t need the police and every other Tom, Dick, and Harry crime-solver-wanna-be on pack lands. Hopefully he can get her fixed back up enough so that she can tell us who did this to her.
“You thinking what I’m thinking?”

A Message from the Paws: Shadow
Hi everyone! As my humans have been complaining about the cold weather, I am loving it! I especially love it first thing in the morning when they let me out. My girlfriend next door usually comes over to say good morning to me, and we have fun running and playing together. The only problem is when it has been raining a lot, the back yard gets mud puddles in it, which I love to trample through. Then the humans won't let me back inside until they've wiped my paws off, which I don't much care for.
So, how is everyone? I hope you are all doing well! i am hearing whispers about a birthday coming up in our house soon. I believe my mommy's (Lady V) is coming up in about a week. She whispered to me that we are having cake and ice cream and that I would get my own plate when we did. Yay! I love living with these humans!

Straight from the desk of Alice Brown & Lady V:
Hope everyone had a wonderful New Year! We have taken the last two weeks to catch a breath, re-organize, relax, recharge our batteries, and make plans for this new year. Now that the office has been cleaned, files have been put away, receipts sorted, etc., we are ready to get back to work! A much needed break after the busy year of 2014, and we have much planned for this year also!
Along with the Dragonose and Texas Vampire Rangers series continued, Lady V is working on book two of My Beloved Werewolf, and we have several new series that we are currently bouncing ideas off of each other in order to start putting the books together. So, keep your eyes open, there will be more news coming down the pipeline as we get going on a few of these new ideas!
A big thank you to everyone who attended the release party for Remathyst, Dragons of Dragonose, 4 last Tuesday. We had an awesome turnout and had a lot of fun! Hope everyone that attending had a great time as well.

Straight from the desk of Alice Brown & Lady V:
As this is our final blog before the new year, we thought we'd go through and reflect on all the wonderful events of 2014. It started off in February with bringing Lady V into the publishing world and bringing the Dragons of Dragonose to life. Then in March, we had the opportunity to go out to Las Vegas for a JK writers get-together, and the birth of the Texas Vampire Rangers. Spring quickly turned into summer, and we kept right on writing, bringing you Fire & Ice, and Ivormantis, Dragonose 2 & 3. Fall was here before we knew it, and with it came Up in Smoke, Texas Vampire Rangers 2 and My Beloved Werewolf. We then got up with a group of great authors to put out a Christmas Anthology, Bite Me Baby. And to finish the year.....yes, it's almost here, Remathyst, Dragons of Dragonose 4 will be released Tuesday, Dec. 30. What a great way to end the year!

Now, what do we have planned for 2015? Glad you asked! As I type this, Lady V and I are pulling the last chapter together of Remathyst, Dragons of Dragonose 4. Most of the book has already been turned in for editing, but due to a few health issues, the end of the book was delayed. Hey everybody! We have a lot going on! Our creators are putting the finishing touches on Remathyst, Dragons of Dragonose 4, and we have heard rumors that they will be revealing the cover next week!
We can't wait for you to meet Remathyst, Dr. Quinn's dragon and Paulina, their mate! We know you will fall in love with these two quickly!
Now, as we wait for the story to be finished, we have been busy taking the twins on rides through the night sky to see Christmas lights. Uncle Sapphamire is going to get himself in trouble if he doesn't stop loading them down with sugar so they won't sleep afterwards, but other than that, the girls are having a blast.
Ivormantis and Sapphamire have been having a playful war on who could find the biggest stocking. Sapphmire crowed and was sure to show his off as his was delivered first, but in the end, Ivormantis truly found the largest stocking!
The dragons have also been going through holiday cookbooks and finding new recipes to try. Ever try baking cookies with dragons in the kitchen? Not an easy feat!

Hi everyone! I am so excited about this "Christmas" everyone keeps talking about! The mailman, and another truck that has the letters "UPS" on it keep stopping and dropping off boxes, but my humans won't let me see inside! They keep telling me it's a surprise, and I have to wait for this "Christmas" to arrive. When is it going to get here anyways???
Oh, and my humans keep promising me baked goodies. So far they've only made pumpkin bread, which was good, but I am hoping there is more to come!

Straight from the desk of Alice Brown & Lady V:
What a week! First migraines and then the crud, our household hasn't been up to par very much this week. Needless to say, with Alice down most of the week, we have gotten tremendously behind on writing, and are desperately trying to finish up with Remathyst, Dragons of Dragonose 4. Hope to have the book ready for editor by tomorrow evening! Keep fingers crossed as we near the finish line that we can do this!
Also, don't forget that Bite Me Baby will be released this Tuesday, Dec. 9. For a full write up of all the stories, check out the front page of our website (http://AuthorAliceBrown.com). By the way, have you seen the website since we decorated it for Christmas? We have snow coming down, pictures sprinkled throughout the home page, and even Christmas music! If music doesn't start automatically, go to the very bottom of the home page and click on the arrow down in the music section.
So, has everyone finished shopping and ready for the holidays? How about baking? Have you started? We did almost all of ours on line this year, since we have been under the weather and under a deadline for the book. Found any good sales? We did on Black Friday as we let our fingers do the walking!

Hi everyone, Ivormantis here. Sapphamire and I have been searching on line to find the biggest stocking that we can for this year. I think he has me beat, as I hear he has found a ginormous stocking! It hasn't been delivered yet, I'm thinking they are having problems finding a box to put it in if it is as big as Sapphamire claims it to be!
Anyways, our good friend Ms. Mary Boehm suggested to us that we take all of our extra decorations and go decorate some of the trees outside. What a wonderful idea! Now, both Sapphamire and I each have our own tree decorated out in the woods! Thank you Ms. Mary for such a wonderful suggestion!
For such a wonderful idea, and because Alice is thankful that we are not burning her tree down in the house, we are sneaking an advanced copy of Bite Me Baby to Ms. Mary! Thanks again Mary!

Hi everyone! Well, once again I have slipped up and allowed my super strength to come through. I was talking to my new girl down, who lives on the other side of an empty field next to my house, and she was being a tease. I wanted to get to her, and pulled a little too hard. This time I pulled the anchor that was bolted into the tree clean out!
Dad just came out shaking his head mumbling, "Boy, I don't know what we are going to do about you." Mom has nicknamed me "Mighty dog". I really don't do this stuff on purpose, I just forget sometimes that I'm not supposed to show the humans exactly how much strength I do have.
BTW, is everyone ready for Christmas? I've heard my humans whispering about something being hidden in the closets, and the mailman has been bringing packages almost everyday, but they keep telling me it's not for me. This patience stuff is for the birds! When is Christmas anyways?
