Series showcase…Grimwood
Ahh, my twisted fairy tales. The Grimms pretty much sprang fully formed from my head. At least Zel and Geneva did. Zel’s story came out in a furious burst of writing over a two weeks period. By the time I’d finished Cursed Blood, I had the entire series loosely plotted. Some of the details have changed as the story evolved, but the core idea of a family who’d been cursed and the woods that were tied to them remains the same.
Book 3, Cursed Bones, tells the story of Isobel Grimm and will be coming in September. Book 4 is tentatively scheduled for October, but it all depends on how quickly I finish writing Adria and Micah’s book. Books 5 and 6 are (again, tentatively) scheduled for 2017, but I’m playing that by ear since I want to get the ending just right.

Series showcase…The Demonkind Chronicles
Demon Restrained was my first published book and it holds a very special place in my heart. Bas and Evie opened up a whole new world for me and I genuinely adore my dirty demon and the woman who found the strength to defy her father for him. While only books 1 and 2 are out now, book 3 is completed and it gives Bas and Evie the happily ever after they’ve been waiting for. (And while it’s not written yet, the 4th book is rattling around in my head waiting for its chance to break free.)

Series showcase…Anderson High Wolves
For the next few weeks, I’m going to be highlighting some of my older releases. Why? Because I genuinely love revisiting my characters and I’m hoping to share the love with y’all.
First up, the Anderson High Wolves series.
This series originally started as a standalone story about Jenny and Evan. The opening scene was in my head for weeks before I committed to writing it down. From there, Jenny and Evan took shape and before I was at the halfway point on their story I knew Matty’s story was going to be told. Soon Mason was demanding his piece of the pie and suddenly I had a trilogy written.
That said…we haven’t quite heard the last from the wolves and their mates. Jenny and Evan certainly have a few more hurdles to get over. There are repercussions after you kill a man, after all. Even if it isn’t premeditated.
Buried Bodies is under a buck, btw, at all retailers.

Looking back on July…
These months seem to be going by freakishly quickly, don’t they? Huh. Maybe it’s just me.
July was a Camp NaNo month (which always end up being good in terms of writing) and the plan was to work on book 4 in the Grimwood series, Cursed Touch (it’s past the halfway point, my friends!). Because I can never work on just one project at once, I also played around with a growly werewolf living in an underwater habitat. BECAUSE WHY NOT, RIGHT?
Somewhere in the middle of the month, I realized I didn’t coordinate with my editor and she was about to head out on vacation. Soooo… I had to fiddle around with release dates because there was no way I was going to be able to get Cursed Bones (Grimwood #3) through edits and up for preorder before the original date I had planned. The downside of being an indie author is that when things like this happen it’s REALLY your own fault. I dropped the ball. I’m owning it. *nods*
So, the plan for now is to have Grimwood 3 and 4 coming at you in September and October, respectively. August is going to see the release of Monstrous Matchmaker: The Complete Series, which will contain (surprise!) books 1-8. I’ve spent the weekend playing with covers for that, so expect it shortly. Speaking of which, the final Monstrous Matchmaker book, Operation Date Night, came out July 6th.
August is here! Let’s see what we can do!

First Line Friday – Cursed Bones
We’re seeing a lot of Isobel for these posts. She’s interesting and a little crazy and her secrets are run deep…
Later, Isobel could never say what kept her in the kitchen as the sun was setting. The wolves hadn’t yet started howling and the air felt cooler than was comfortable. She should have locked the kitchen door and retreated up to her tower to settle in for the night.
Instead, she crept to the cracked window looking out over the back garden and pressed her cheek against the glass.
There was change in the air. The weather would turn soon and she’d have to put extra layers on to stay warm.
Isobel blinked. Or had that already happened?
No. There was no snow on the ground yet. She’d spent the afternoon dragging wood in for her fire. Desperate to burn off some of her restless energy, she’d brought in everything she could find. The once-great entrance hall was stacked high with piles of wood and kindling.
Her mother would hate the mess she’d made.
Cursed BonesRelease Date: September 2016
Genre: Paranormal Romance, Twisted Fairytale
Once upon a time, Isobel Grimm had been the favored daughter of one of the oldest families in Grimwood. Prideful, arrogant, and vain, she found out the hard way that not all those she saw as beneath her are weak. Fleeing to her family manor hidden in the depths of the great forest seemed her only option when a powerful curse stole her looks and made her a monster in the eyes of most.
When an intruder invades her sanctuary, Isobel is forced to face some painful truths—she’s lived in solitude far longer than she realized and her problems are only the precursor for something far more deadly. For the trees in the forest are dying, stricken by a mysterious disease rotting them slowly from the inside.
In the manor hidden away from prying eyes, a pact has fallen and the entire forest is paying the price. As a Grimm, it’s Isobel’s duty to right this wrong and reverse the curse spreading across the land.
If she can’t, all of Grimwood may fall.
Until next week!

Tag Line Tuesday – The Hero
Our hero, Cade, sort of stumbles onto Isobel and, well, things go from there. But who is Cade? At his core, he’s just a man who’s trying to help his village and his path leads to the old Grimm manor tucked away in the heart of Grimwood…
A man who can see beyond the surface is the one you want at your side.

First Line Friday – Cursed Bones
Isobel is a sad, strange creature. She’s also half lost in her madness and has a rather wicked temper.
Strange dreams plagued Isobel’s sleep, making her restless and short tempered during the day. The house withstood her fits of pique, the screams she let loose echoing off the arched ceilings to taunt her as they faded into nothing.
Once her anger had passed, she made her way to the library to curl up on the wide window seat. Hugging her knees to her chest, she pushed aside the chiding voice telling her the display of temper she’d indulged in was a ridiculous waste of time and energy. As if she wasn’t fully aware of that. She felt drained, the world painted in shades of grey around her.

First Line Friday – Cursed Bones
Ladies and Gentlemen… May I present Isobel Grimm…
Even on the best of days, the old house was chilly.
It hadn’t always been like that. Once upon a time, fires had burned in the great hearths and the sounds of servants had filled the halls.
Once upon a time there had been others here to keep Isobel company.
They’d fled or died, one by one, until it was only her.
Isobel didn’t blame them for their abandonment. When the dark lines had first appeared on her skin, she’d been horrified. As they spread, she’d seen the looks the servants gave her. She’d noticed how they went out of their way to keep from touching her.
She’d done nothing as they slipped away one after another in the dark of the night. The old housekeeper had suggested going to the closest village and finding some to fill the empty spots, but the thought of the pitying looks she’d have to endure with a new batch of servants had struck Isobel like a knife through the heart and she’d gruffly told the old woman they’d make do with who was left.
