Looking back on February…

Dammit, February, why you gotta be so short? 28 days isn’t enough for me. I need more. MOAR!

Enough with the craziness, right? Let’s see what February handed us. Or me. What it handed me. Or, I guess, what I did with it. Because I did stuff. WRITING STUFF. (I’ve had a lot of coffee today. You probably can’t tell.)

So. February saw me finish the first draft of Cursed Lives, the 5th Grimwood book, and start Cursed Heart, the 6th and FINAL Grimwood tale. Between those, I also finished a short story about soul collecting and got a BIG jump on the 2nd book in the sci-fi series I started back in January. For the record, once I finish the as-yet-untitled sci-fi book, I’ll jump back to Cursed Heart to get that knocked out.

I can’t seem to help myself from working on multiple projects at once.

Deep, Forgotten Monsters #2, came out at the end of the month, and Dream, Forgotten Monsters #3, is up for preorder. As per my usual MO, the preorder price is .99, so now’s the best time to put that order in for some monster lovin’.

Now it’s back to the writing cave for me. These abandoned space stations don’t write themselves, you know.

It’s ALIVE! Deep is here!

Deep, the second in the Forgotten Monsters series, is live and kicking!

Ehh, well, live, at least.

The point is, Mikka and Lars are ready to heat up your ereader. The price goes up at the end of the week, so grab ’em now and roll around with a Kraken and the dude her makes her all mushy.

Release Date: February 22, 2017

Pages: 43

Genre: Monster Erotica

As the world grows more technologically advanced, keeping herself hidden from the humans has become harder and harder for Mikka, one of the last krakens left in the great oceans. Weary of fighting and clearly seeing the writing on the wall, she’s ready to reveal herself and let the humans do as they will.

Amateur oceanologist Lars Lund is certain there’s a secret hidden in the saltwater cove near his isolated home. If he can figure out what it is, he can find a way to keep it protected. And maybe the lonely song he hears night after night will finally stop haunting him.

Mikka and Lars are on a collision path that will rock both their worlds. She’s a monster out of legend and he’s a man who doesn’t quite fit into the human world. Together, they might just find a happily ever after.

Warning: This book contains a monster of epic proportions and a man who sees more than he lets on. No tentacles were harmed in the writing of this book.

Endings, beginnings, and other oddities

I finished the first draft of the 5th book in the Grimwood series this past weekend. Now it’s been put aside for a few weeks so I can look at it with fresh eyes to see if everything makes sense and all that fun stuff.

Now, NORMALLY, I would dive into a different project altogether after finishing a longer book. Something quick and dirty to clear my mind and give me a little break before I head into the next chapter of the overall arc of a longer series.

That DID NOT happen this time around. I finished Cursed Lives and started Cursed Heart the following day. Saying this is out of the ordinary can’t be stressed enough. Guys, I usually have to work myself up to writing the final book in a series. For real. Like, I have to psych myself up and remind myself that just because this series is ending it doesn’t mean I an never revisit it again.

But Cursed Heart called to me too loudly for me to ignore it.

So I’m writing. And I’m reminding myself that you have to take a first step in order to start on a journey. (That’s actually something our heroine is going to have to be pushed into, too, come to think of it.) I’m also reminding myself that endings aren’t always endings. Sometimes they’re the start to the next step of an even longer journey.

I guess in some ways, I still am psyching myself up to write this book. No matter, it’s being written. And that’s what counts.

Looking back on January…

Yoooouuuuu guys. Where did January go? It felt both RIDICULOUSLY unending and like it blew by in the blink of an eye. As my little niece would say “NO LIKE!”

Whatever, right? We made it through another month. More words. Another series started. It’s all good.

Anyway. January saw the release of the first Forgotten Monsters book. Wisp begins a new series revolving around those monsters that I didn’t get to explore in the Monstrous series. No, Ari and her green hunk of burning love aren’t in this series, but there are a few new faces you might like. Book 2, Deep, is already up for preorder. So, you know, if you like Will, snap up Mikka.

January saw me working on Cursed Lives, the 5th Grimwood book, and a little story about an AI who falls in love with a human. There’s the whole end of civilization thing going on. There might be a spaceship. And shenanigans. IT WAS GREAT! Well, at least I think so, but I’m so in love with sci-fi romance it’s ridiculous.

I hope to complete Cursed Lives in February (and I will…if I don’t get distracted by forbidden love on space ships) so I can let it marinate for a while before hitting the edits on it. Totally doable. I can feel it.

Now, back to the writing cave!

Wisp is HERE!

YES! Book 1 in the Forgotten Monsters series is live and kicking! Or glowing. Because, you know, wisp.

Anywho. Do you see him over there? That’s Will. He’s surly and just wants to be left alone. Alas, it isn’t to be.

In a good way, my friends. Because glowy, supernatural dudes need love just as much as the non-glowy supernaturals. AMIRITE or AMIRITE?

The point is Will and his glowy ways are out now for under a buck. The price goes up at the end of the week, so now’s your chance to snatch up this hunk of burning love and watch him get ALL INTRIGUED by a special lady who has her own ties to the supernatural world.

*ahem*

Release Date: January 25, 2017

Pages: 40

Genre: Monster Erotica

Living on the outskirts of society suits Will Quinn just fine. He’s one of the last of his kind and he’s grown weary of being the boogie man to the humans who dare each other to check out his presumably haunted cabin.

When a small group of humans from the local college show up to interrupt his solitude, Will is determined to run them off. He never expects a pretty coed to see right through his glamour to the heart of the man beneath.

With tensions rising in the monstrous community and the danger of being revealed an ever-present threat, Will must make a choice: Guard the secret of what he is or let the spark that is smoldering between him and Kaitlin become a full-fledged burn.

Warning: This book contains a man who’s much more than a Wisp. Not all monsters are created equal and Kaitlin’s about to get the type of education she never dreamed of.

Book 2, Deep, is already up for preorder. I think you’ll like Mikka. She’s interesting. And tentacle-y.

A new series is coming at you in 2017!

Okay. Story time. I’ve had this idea for the final part of the Monstrous series where the monsters are revealed and THINGS HAPPEN for a while. But I wasn’t quite ready to start writing it at the end of 2016. I had just finished the Monstrous Matchmaker series and I wasn’t ready to dive into a set of new adventures that would effectively close out the storyline I started waaaaay back with The Wicked Woods.

Soooo…I was messing around online with my BFF one day and I said I was going to write a book about a Wisp named Will and the book was going to be called Wisp. Oh, and the second book in the series was going to be called Deep and it would star a Kraken. And the third book would be about a Nightmare that had some performance issues. And somehow all these books would tie into the Monstrous world without being part of the Monstrous Tales/Matchmaker storyline.

So back at the end of October/beginning of November, I wrote Wisp, Deep, Dream, and Echo and I’m GIDDY over having an entire series finished before the first book has even come out.

That said… Wisp and Deep are both up for preorder. Wisp will be hitting the virtual shelves next week on the 25th and Deep will be heading your way toward the end of February. Dream and Echo will be the March and April releases for this year. They’re at the low, low price of ninety-nine pennies through release week, so you should totally grab them now.

Totally.

Come on over and meet Will Quinn, the surly Wisp who likes going it alone. Until he doesn’t.

Looking back on 2016

What a year it’s been!

Seriously. What a year. I released 11 books and wrote a metric fuckton more. Seriously. I wrote a lot of books this year and now I have to figure out where and when those will be seeing the light of day.

But let’s talk about what’s available to y’all:

Dead Sexy (Pinnacle Point #2) – January 13
Future Perfect (Pinnacle Point #3) – February 10
Hard Wired (Pinnacle Point #4) – March 16
Operation Minotaur (Monstrous Matchmaker #5) – April 13
Operation Gargoyle (Monstrous Matchmaker #6) – May 11
Operation Sasquatch (Monstrous Matchmaker #7) – June 8
Operation Date Night (Monstrous Matchmaker #8) – July 6
Monstrous Matchmaker: The Complete Series – August 7
Cursed Bones (Grimwood #3) – September 21
Pinnacle Point: The Harker Collection – October 19
Cursed Touch (Grimwood #4) – December 27

I’m currently working on Cursed Lives (Grimwood #5) and an as-yet-untitled short story set aboard a space ship. Because I like space ships.

Early 2017 will have the Forgotten Monsters series going live. This is a standalone a 4 book series set in the Monstrous Tales/Matchmaker world. So, monsters. Monsters getting their sexy on. BOOM.

As a reminder, the price on Cursed Touch goes up sooooon (like, tomorrow). So if you’re looking to grab it at the low, low price of ninety-nine pennies, do it now!

Here’s to hoping 2017 rocks your socks off!

Cursed Touch now available!

It’s here! It’s here! The 4th book in the Grimwood series is now live. Come meet Adria and Micah and watch them work through a few issues. Oh, and do their part in lifting the curse on Grimwood. *fist pump*

It’s under a buck until the end of the year, btw. I highly suggest grabbing it before the price goes up.

Release Date: December 27, 2016

Genre: Paranormal Romance, Twisted Fairytale

Adria Grimm lives at the highest point in Grimwood. The stories of what would befall her if she ever ventured down the mountain to the forest’s edge are cautionary tales she’s always lived by. Becoming a slave to the curse that hides in her blood isn’t the fate she dreams of for herself.

When an injured man collapses on her doorstep, Adria reluctantly nurses him back to health. The man is aggravating and demanding and Adria can’t wait until he’s well enough to be on his way.

Waking with little memory of what brought him to the mountains, Micah Redfield has to piece his past together before he can complete the quest that drove him to this remote location. As it turns out, Adria has the answers he’s been looking for, but deciphering the clues she’s been left is only the beginning of their journey.

Working together, they will have to find a way to unlock the ancient magic hidden in the heart of the mountain before Grimwood itself falls.

Cursed Touch is coming soon!

Hello, everybody! After a whirlwind writing month in November, I’ve been taking it easy in December. Which isn’t to say I’m not writing, just not writing as much. Sometimes you need to slow down and recharge, amirite?!?!

Just because I’m not scribbling fiendishly doesn’t mean I don’t have things happening. The fourth Grimwood book comes out next week–on the 27th, in fact! The preorder price is .99 and it’s available at a multitude of online stores. That price will be good through the end of the year, so snap it up while it’s a steal.

November 30, 2016

Looking back on November…

lookingbacknovemberNovember, man. November. I’m a little confused as to how we’ve reached the end of it already. I mean, wasn’t it just June or something?

WHAT DID I DO IN NOVEMBER? you ask. Good question. I wrote. A lot. A lot lot. No releases this month, but I finished a series that will be coming out in early 2017 (Forgotten Monsters! WHEEEEE!) and wrote a bunch of Day in the Life stories. OH! And I might have written a completely unplanned story about a possessed house and the woman who loves it. Or at least likes spending PLENTY of quality alone time with it. Heeee! Plus, I’m currently working on a spiffy little story that’s a bit of a departure from what I normally write. Maybe. It feels more sword and sorcery-esque, but it’s still in early stages.

Things to look forward to: I’m hoping to have the 4th Grimwood book come out in December. It kinda depends on how much work it needs, though. *crosses fingers and toes that everything goes smoothly on that end* By the by, I have a rough idea of what my 2017 schedule will look like. Well, the first half of it. The Forgotten Monsters quadrilogy is most certainly on the table in the first few months of the year.

I’m writing this late on the 29th and I’m still determined to hit 70K words for the month. That’s about double what I normally write, so this feels big and exciting. To me, at least.

Here’s to fantastically productive months. May we all have a few of those in our futures.
