In and Out of the Homestead

So next time you are faced with a big decision, choose to make decisions for your self that are in alignment with your JOY. When you are happy and filled with joy your high vibrational frequency radiates out to everyone else. This is what being LOVE really means - it means to be your own generator of LOVE, from within, so you can be the example for everyone else to be their own generator of LOVE as well. For we can not truly give to someone else what we have not already cultivated for our self. Sabrine Ruer

I love coming to Trinidad, my soul feels at peace, when I drive out of the airport and see the Trinity Hills I know that I am in the right space and place. I got back home today for one week and I intend to make the most of my time here, soak in the hills and see my family.
I say this to remind myself that there is always something here to bring me back in line
I was so angry with myself for dropping the ball and I was literally cussing myself and everybody around me about the "Trinidad way" and then I decided to took a breath and focus on being safely in a place that makes me feel safe.
Do you have a "space and place" you go to?
It does not have to be physical, it can be mental
Go back to it and breathe.
It takes you there
One week in Super Island T&T
Give thanks

Find me in the midst of the maelstrom

Find me in the midst of the maelstrom.Sometimes events whirl around you so quickly that they become a blur. Whisper my name in recognition that I am still with you. Without skipping a beat in the activities that occupy you, you find the strength and peace through praying my name. Later, when the happenings have run their course you can talk to me more fully. Accept each day just as it comes to you. Do not waste your time and energy wishing for a different set of circumstances. Instead trust me enough to yield to my design and purposes.Remember that nothing can separate you from my loving presence Philippians 2:9

Houston, I thank you, each time I pray for the events to be that which I can be my highest self, share the lessons as authentically as possible and learn from it and leave all other expectations my prayers are always answered in unexpected ways that usually blow my mind. It's call surrender, being open, flexibility.
Are you willing to do what is required to get what you say you want?
That may involve doing things differently and outside of your comfort zone
It may also involve new people, new situations and being scared.
The results are always worth it
Peace!!

Houston Book Tour Day 5 - A Break in the Norm

Burn the draft, the plan, the strategy that you thought was everything - Danielle La Porte

Today I am taking a break in the touring to participate in a meeting focused on the effect of climate change on small farmers in small and developing nations, following on from that I will go out and see Houston a bit. I have the privilege to work with small farmers and community businesses in my country through CANARI and UNDP to look at the climate change effects on their businesses. I will be paying attention as this is part of the lessons on the journey
It is evident to me that I cannot live in a vacuum as I am connected to everyone, as Neale Donald Walsh says, all of us are one, even in A Course of Miracles they talk about that the only thing that needs to be healed in the world is our sense of separation.
When I think and believe that I am connected to my brothers and sisters my behavior changes.
And even more key is that when my actions impact me, in a way that causes me stress or is unhealthy or harmful, I know it will impact others.
What I do to you I do to me
Catch that
Peace

Flap it out

The funks, blues, I feel weird moments or series of moments have all kinds of life nuggets to show you. You’re learning. You’re expanding. Look for the light Maxie McCoy

Nature teaches me so much, I sometimes forget that I can turn to nature to learn lessons as well
Everything is for a season - look at the the change of seasons, they never last forever, as much as sometimes we moan that the winter is dragging on it shifts just at the right time and cannot be rushed
It cannot rain forever, at some point the rain stops and the sun comes out again and it cannot be rushed
Grass can grow anywhere even in pitch and concrete
The sun and moon comes out silently but the effect is oh so awesome
The sky is there all the time, look up and see somethings that blow your mind
So with that reminder I got outside in the nature of Houston for a run after the rain and storm stopped andbumped into a lake with some ducks and turtles
The ducks, looking oh so grateful on the watr, swimming away I shouted at them "look at you not a care in the world, no bills and no money stories" They must have heard me two ducks started fighting and to see it was something else
The ducks fought, battled it out, then flapped their wings like they were so mad for a minute and joined the crew again like "hey I dealt with it, flapped it out, let's go" I looked at that and said hmm why don't I just flap out my issues and go, get back into the fold, I decided then yea that's my action from today
Flap out and go!
Thank you duckies

Peace

Day 4 National Black Book Festival

Stop Asking “Why?”: You don’t need to know why you do or don’t do this or that thing. You simply need to behave differently. Asking “why” is really just an attempt to go back in life to where you “dropped the stitch on happiness” and reverse-engineer your mistakes. In other words, “why” is generally a focus on the past but the key to happiness today is to focus on TODAY’S right actions. Jen

So Texas was under storm threat! the rain and wind was relentless, the event was cancelled! I was disappointed, I started counting - well counting lost cash and all other forms of what if's! And then, I remembered the lessons, make friends with reality and move on.
I t rained all day.......
The opportunity arose for me to spend time with my cousins who I grew up with who came to the book festival to see me, to support me, to relax, to stay inside and eat my favourite foods, bake and saltfish! And so my smile reappeared as I could not put a price on this
Had so much fun with my peeps, I cannot count or measure that! I ate my favourite foods, laughed and talked and had fun
Yes indeed, rest is productive and today I am up and recharged, ready to go
Houston, there is no problem.....
Peace

Day 3 National Black Book Festival

Do not become anxious, excited, or emotionally upset if affairs do not immediately begin producing the results you desire. Do not try to force or hurry your mental image into fulfillment. Anxious, excited, emotional, hurried, forced states of mind produce violent results that are seldom satisfactory, and they can be most discouraging and destructive.
Day 3 in Texas, yesterday was a long one, met quite a few awesome authors, spent too much cash on books and learned quite a bit about marketing and promoting and of course ate wayyy to much! Today is shaping up to be nice as well! Giving thanks for the opportunity! Peace

Houston - we have no problem...

There is meaning in everyday experiences - Byron Katie (I love her!)

Day 2 in Houston Texas, I have family living in the area and it is always so good to see them, they took the opportunity to meet me yesterday and it is always so funny that I always ignore that they have very strong opinions on how I ought to look! So as soon as they saw me we they commented that I need a spa, too many bags under the eyes, no manicure, no pedicure, to me I really wasn't bothered and I just got off a flight. But what I have learnt is that relinquishing all concern about a gift given is all that matters and to now be open to receiving as giving is also part of receiving and being able to receive is part of me signalling to the Universe that I am worthy, I am enough
So we drove to the salon, I took the pampering and it felt super duper good!

Today is a packed day at the National Black Book Festival, the sessions start at 8am with a breakfast seminar and I am now fully pampered!
Peace!

Supposed....

Take a hit for the team. You don’t think you’re learning lessons just for your own good, do you?
Risk being disliked (actually, it’s not a risk, it’s inevitable.)
Risk being very very misunderstood (and you don’t know how much that hurts until it happens.)
Say what you feel — in every possible way.
Burn the draft, the plan, the strategy that you thought was everything.
Pray. On your knees. (When’s the last time you did that?)
Cut people out of your life.
Humbly make amends. Danielle La Porte

My friend Stacey told me to stop living a "supposed to" lifeI asked her what she meantShe told me that I say " I am supposed to....." quite a bit and many times its bull shit and fear talkingI am supposed to stay calm, supposed to be making better decisions, supposed to know what to do and when even when I never came up with that situation yada yada yadaMiss supposed womanAll I am supposed to do is to be myself!
So many lessons learnt over this past month about myself and I can only say that I am grateful for it! Im supposed to be! LOL!Peace

95% is an A

Just in case I’m not making myself clear: It’s typical in this being human that we don’t ever want to be seen as the one who is unprepared. That we have to have everything lined up, so that we aren’t seen to slip up.
95% is ready enough . Dawn Moxie

I do, I am not a big talker, thinker or one that waits! I want to do something and I do it
It sometimes gets me in big big trouble, however I have decided and accepted  that I prefer the trouble than the procrastination and fear in waiting, I have stopped beating myself up about it as well
Perfection is not a requirement to start anything, willingness and courage is!
According to Dawn Moxie 95% in an exam is an A so when I am 95% ready I go!
I go and I learn as I move
So ask yourself are you genuinely not ready or are you just scared?
Peace!
