Returning Stronger

The way in which we do this is becoming aware of our current choices, what choices feel good in our body and what do not. This takes a level of honesty and non-judgement that is non-negotiable within this process. Looking at our less than favourable habits, thoughts, and emotions will almost always bring up discomfort, and force us to take a look at where we’ve been hiding from or lying to ourselves, but let me tell you from personal experience  That moment of pause, without judgement, is a game change r.Lee Ann Rimes

Today I have  and am grateful the opportunity to speak at an event called Wellness Wednesday's at the The Arts Cafe TT.
The owner's vision is to share empowering stories to women in particular on how to be well, on how to keep well. She believes that loving one's self plays a significant role in remaining well. I applaud her vision and also share in the view. The conditions of my speaking today is not perfect and I was tempted to say no -  I have very few books left to sell for one however, My gut told me to do it and I am so happy that I did.

I am returning to San Fernando, the place where it all began
My home town
I am returning stronger
I am returning with less baggage to unpack
Just an overall happy, excited yet nervous feeling
But I am ready
perfect or not

How about you? Are you feeling ready to make any leaps, even it the conditions are not perfect?

Peace

We need never fear to look within

We need never fear to look within . ACIM

I have learnt that ignoring either my intuition or a situation that must be dealt with which requires me tapping within my inner self spells trouble.
Intuition does not shout, it does not force, intuition is peaceful and many time illogical by the world's standards.  Wanting to prove others wrong, or prove you are right, having the last word and the "I told you so's is not intuition speaking to you, that is plain ole ego tripping. Many of us say it is our gut speaking when in fact it is the ego screaming at you.

Looking within can be scary, because looking within with honesty exposes us to things we don't want to deal with, things we have denied and things we have ignored.

It makes us anxious that once we face them, call them out, look them directly in the eye that we have to take responsibility and do something about them.

I have learnt that doing something about it right away is not always necessary or even a requirement in moving forward, acknowledgement is a huge part of the process.

I have learnt that sometimes we limit ourselves when we refuse to look within, we dream  too small.

When we face some of the things lurking around inside we get an opportunity for feedback. you cannot lie to yourself, your life will always show you where you are and where there is space for growth.

Can you be more patient, more kind, set more boundaries, be more responsible, dream  a bigger dream, more forgiving, less angry, gossip less?

Whatever it is, a huge part of the process is looking courageously within and accepting that whatever is there is for your own growth and development.
Peace

You are the Messenger

People do not have to hear your message. That is not their responsibility. When you are given a message, an insight, a revelation, your only responsibility is to deliver what you have been given. What happens once the message is delivered is not, IS NOT, your responsibility. If you judge the correctness, accuracy or power of your message based on how it is received, you will miss the point. Once you, the messenger, miss the point, the message is lost. - Iyanla Vanzant

The Universe is always right on time! This morning as part of my daily readings, what would pop up is a message about delivering messages that comes from within. It could not have come at a more opportune time
Over the past days I have been having a mental battle about whether I am doing the right thing, doing enough, not doing what I ought to be doing. and all the other tricks of the ego. The girls programme in particular. What am I missing because of the fact that two of the ladies were involved in an altercation at the home which has made national attention.
I focused on what I was not doing, what I could do more, and of course, there is always room for improvement. In this case, the mutterings were filled with fear and worry.
The Universe uses people to spread its messages, people come into our lives to teach us, to show us where we must love more, forgive more, let go more, set more boundaries. People and relationships are usually our best teachers and classrooms, out best containers for learning and growth.

It is important for us to remember that we are also part of the teachers of the Universe, whether or not we acknowledge it, we come into other people's lives as teachers. Sometimes we may not even know the message that we have been tasked by the Universe to give.

When we deliver the message, many times the relationship is over, it is changed, it is altered- do not force to hold on
When we deliver the message it is not our business to judge it or alter it -  you are a channel
When we show up in other people's lives sometimes unexpectedly without logic remember that we are messengers, teachers and learners - remain open, remain flexible, lose the judgement, feel the feelings.
I know that I have to continue to spread the message of loving ourselves through it, of showing up real, of trusting the process and of giving back. Once I have done that I have to know in my knower that The Universe will do the rest.
Peace

New Perspectives

You see what you expect, and you expect what you invite. Your perception is the result of your invitation, coming to you as you sent for it.
Remember always that you see what you seek, for what you seek you will find . ACIM

Presently I am focusing on looking at a situation with a different perspective, that is not to say that I am denying the reality of it, I am totally present in seeing that the situation has happened and it is what it is. I am now choosing to change the perspective in which I view it.Two young ladies from the NiNa Programme have been involved in fights at the home under care and have been subjected to punishment through the court and penal system. Both 15 years old, I was going down the road of anger, despair and how it should be. This course of action had be feeling quite bummy, my neck started paining me, I felt plain ole helpless. A perspective shift was required as none of this helped the girls nor did it help me or the young ladies. I decided to look at what can I learn from this, what can I do differently with the one's who are still around me. what can I do differently with the management of the facility. My neck is still hurting but it  feels better already! That is about all for now!
Peace

Good Morning God

Good Morning God!
I acknowledge You in all forms through which You manifest, and by all names by which You are known and called.
Thank you for a good rising. Thank you for another day. Thank you for allowing me to be among those who have yet another opportunity to be in alignment with You as a demonstration of Your omnipotent, loving presence. Thank you for the miraculous working of the minds and bodies of those of us who have been given the privilege of this day. Thank you for the awareness that no matter what it looks like, no matter what happens, no matter how resistant, defiant, hesitant or disobedient human beings appear to be, You continue to provide us with the gift of life, the opportunity to heal and the power of free will that we know as choice.
Today, I ask for and open myself to receive healing, correction and freedom from fear, in all manifestations and ways it operates within me and in the world. I claim healing for myself and for the world from the thoughts, words and experiences that are motivated by fear. I declare healing in my mind, and in the world from all the illusions and distortions that fear has created. I decree healing in my heart from all of the toxic beliefs, expressions and behaviors that are grounded in fear. I put my trust in your words that I must fear not, knowing and believing that you are within me, with me and covering me and everyone in the world at all times, regardless of whether we know it, believe it or by what name we call You.
Today I stand in Your light, with Your love, placing my total faith in You. I surrender my mind, heart and life to You knowing that Your presence is my defense against fear; my protection from fear, and my antidote to fear.
Today I ask and allow myself to know the deepest root and cause of real fear; imagined fear; fear of the known; fear of the unknown; fear that I have created; fear that I have inherited; who and what motivates fear in my mind; who and what motivates fear in my heart; how fear limits me; how fear rewards me; how I impose fear upon others: how others impose fear upon me; and as these things are revealed, I ask that You will demonstrate the truth of Your presence so that I will surrender each fear to you.
As You lift fear from my mind, heart, spirit and life, I ask that the empty places be filled with Your power, Your love, Your wisdom, Your peace, Your joy, and Your perfect will for my life. I ask that as I read these words and speak these words, that they become filled with the living energy and presence of You within me, and around me that takes dominion of my life and in the world.
I decree that as I ask, and allow and believe it is done through me, to me, as me and for me.
For this I am so grateful.
I let it be.
And So It Is!
Amen and Amen.

Going Back to The Village

Young people, it’s important to not allow toxic culture to lead you into mind control—a modern day form of slavery. Keep exposing yourself to who and what inspires you to not just have better ‘things’, but to be better, think better, create better, and vibrate higher in the world Lalah Delia

Today, I had the absolute honor to be the feature speaker at the Bishops and Trinity East Sixth Form School Achievement Day. The school won an unprecedented 20 scholarships. I could not even be more proud of the school, the teachers, the staff. They worked so hard with patience and love, the results are now showing with these all wonderful all round students that they are producing.

This school is willing to take risks, they are willing to move beyond just academics to produce students who focus on being productive world citizens.

I want to take the opportunity to congratulate all the students, the teachers, the support staff and everyone involved. I want to urge them to continue to show and shine every single time and I want to thank them for the opportunity to be a part of this event.

Shine on!
Peace

Clarity requires Courage

Here's how clarity works...it's a doorway to understanding what you need, why you need it, and how to honor that need. The fog that's hovering over your feelings, your decisions, and your doubt will finally clear and aha...clarity. It feels like freedom and sings like gospel song. Soft, beautiful, and uniquely true. It's clarity. Because it's you . Maxie McCoy
Clarity requires that we be completely honest with ourselves. It requires a level of courage that may even scare you. Clarity requires that we love ourselves enough to know that there may be some people that are not comfortable with your level of clarity. When that is the case to not be too concerned with others and their confusion over your own clarity. When you are clear, their confusion will not shake you or break you.
Clarity requires that you take the time to know who you are, and why you are here.
Getting to clarity is a process, not an event. It takes time.
Clarity is about boundaries, setting them, and honoring them for both you and others. When you get clear, you follow your intuition even if it makes no good sense. It means that you show up, knowing that you will be fine no matter what.It means that....you are clearCrystal

Power Plays

Myth 1 : Power lies in the title – biggest myth power lies in you not a title, in you understanding who you are, and that is a long journey

Power plays
Power moves
Power slots
Power positions
Do you have a definition of power?
Do you know what your power is, where your power lies?
Do you believe that you have power?

Is money power?
Is your position at your job, your home, your church, any organisation that you are a part of considered power?
Is power just for the have's?
Can the have not's have some of the power?
Are you afraid of your power?
Where is your power?

Gary Zukav said that your authentic self is the foundation of your power.

I have learnt that we are all born powerful, by virtue of us being here, we are powerful.
Our power lies in the belief that who we are is enough, and once we start from that place, the power that we have grows exponentially. I learnt this after realizing that no amount of money, status, friends in high places, material possessions can make you powerful if you do not believe that you are.
The status quo is power lies in status and riches and political appointments, and yes that may be so, however not having it ought not to render anyone powerless.
Flip on your power switch! It's in you

Peace

A Delay is Not A Denial

A Delay is Not a Denial - Luke 18

Disappointment sucks doesn't it? When that thing that you want so bad is eluding you, or taken away from you or even denied, doesn't it feel like a sucker punch to the gut?
Confessions on the Journey - disappointment hurts! As part of the human race, I want what I want when I want it. Can anyone feel me here?
What I have learnt is, sometimes what I want is not what I need and sometimes what I want is not what is best for me.
I have also learnt that divine timing is always on time, so sometimes what I want, I am not ready to receive. We are not ready when we are in fear, when we are in doubt, when we are yet to learn some of the lessons requires us to be that person that can receive the very thing you say we want. Sometimes we have to be more patient, more disciplined, more focused, more restful. Whatever it is, once we get there that thing that we are ready for seems to just fall in our laps.

Disappointment is also about letting go of control, yes, humans again, want to control everything and will not learn that we cannot. We can respond to situations and circumstances. Control is different to being prepared and being ready. My mantra has been expect the unexpected and handle it!

So, as I navigate through my disappointment today I am reminded that, a delay is not a denial and divine timing is on time, all the time.
Many times the things that I believed I wanted was no where near to the joy and satisfaction received from the things I got.

Peace

Back to the Norm?

so many times in life we allow fear to stop us in our tracks:the sad thing is we don't always recognise that we are afraid. We find excuses and rationalisations. We create responsibilities, true or false,we must tend to before we move forward,we create challenges and obstacles so real in our minds they manifest in our lives. Behind it all is fear. Iyanla Vanzant

There are times that I return from a trip abroad and I am feel trapped. It's almost like I feel that I have returned to some sort of cave with one window. The feeling comes and goes
I thought about it yesterday and decided to spend some time with the feeling, asking it to come chat with me for a moment, I want to get to know you better before I make a decision.
What I  learnt is, I want to do more, I am impatient about the process, some fear is seeping in that I am not doing enough. The old "not enoughness" rearing its head again.
The cave is self imposed. And guess what? Amazing things can happen in a cave

So, the decision is to keep plugging away and believing
Keep making decisions grounded in love not fear
Keep being willing and open to make another choice if the original choice made is not working out
Keep open to the Universe using you in the way it sees fit and being obedient to the call
Keep showing up
Keep feeling the feelings and letting them go

Peace
