Prologue


Three angels were standing in the middle of a round, crystal room. Their long, silver cloaks were swaying slowly in the wind; the rustle of their wings was the only sound breaking the intense silence. One of them, a woman with curly, strawberry-blond hair that went to her feet, raised her hand and a huge, white cloud formed in front of her.

“The girl deserves to know the truth,” she said to the others.

“This is insane,” a male angel replied, shaking his head. He ran one palm through his messy, sandy hair; his big, blue eyes seemed to be brighter than the sky itself. “What if something goes wrong?” He stared nervously at the picture appearing inside the cloud.

“We are losing control over her.”

“She’s right,” the other male angel said. “It’s not safe to keep her here.” His golden eyes shifted impatiently between his companions. “We need to send her back to the earth.”

“You will follow her,” the woman said, looking at the blue-eyed angel. He was the youngest of the three of them, and his age was the only thing that stopped him from breaking the order. He didn’t want to spy on anyone. He used to be one of the best guardian angels, until one day he made a mistake and was obliged to follow the orders of the top-ranked angels. It was the worst part of his punishment; he hated being told what to do.

“You didn’t have to say that,” he snapped, meeting the woman’s emotionless eyes. Sometimes it was really hard to believe that she was an angel, and not a demon wearing snow-white wings. “You know I would have never left her unprotected.”

“Right.” The other angel smirked.

“Albert,” the woman hissed, warningly. Her voice sounded calm, but the intonation said it all — she didn’t approve fights between her subordinates. “This meeting is over. I’ll see you two later.” And just like that she disappeared, making the air in the room crackle. Albert grimaced at the force of energy left after her disappearance. He wasn’t as strong as she was, and the powers she possessed always made him uneasy. He looked one last time at the blue-eyed angel and followed the woman.



Left alone, the angel stared at the picture of the girl he was supposed to spy on. The girl was a guardian angel. She was slim and beautiful; with long, black hair and big green eyes, shadowed by the curling lashes.

She was walking down the alley surrounded by the age-old oaks, watching her fosterling. She seemed to be relaxed, but in reality her every instinct was on alert. Her wings were outspread, and though no human could see her like that, the creatures of the heavens always knew when she was on duty.

“I won’t let you down, Claire,” the angel swore in a whisper, making the cloud in front of him turn black. “Never again….”

5 DARK, EMOTIONALLY MINDFUCKING STARS!!!!!!

Oh my dear lord , I am out of words to describe what an amazing book this has turned out to be . Honestly speaking and no offense to reviewers who have reviewed it words cannot comply or even describe or make you realize how good this book is . I mean , no matter what I write here or what you've already read about it can in no way make you experience the intensity of this story . It's up to you pick it up , strap yourself and be lost in what I call a journey of a lifetime .

This book is totally bad-ass, awesome, epic, pawned, heart-stopping, hair-raising, spine-tingling, thrilling, electrifying, breath taking, totally wicked yada yada. I can go on and on but I think my limited vocabulary won't do it justice... so I'll just get on with my review!

If you are like most readers, one of the joys of reading is being swept away to another world for a few hours at a time. Reading can be an escape from the mundane activities of our daily lives, and it can be a doorway through which we enter the heart and soul of people and places we might never experience in real life. Well, Quintessentially Q is just like that! It's a true masterpiece, raw and powerful, a master class on creating rich settings and authentic characters.

There are love stories, there are Nicholas Sparks books, and then there's THIS. This masterpiece by Pepper Winters. This has got to be one of, if not the most touching books I've ever read. I enjoyed every page, every detail, every minute I spent reading it.

Before everything else, I think it's only fair that I warn you, dear reader, that this book is going to make you scream. It will make you beg and cry for mercy. You will want to put the book down and I urge you to keep going. The further I got into the story, the more I appreciated it. I wished the story wouldn't end. It's that good!

When I was finished, I felt so attached to the characters that I just thought, "It's over. I can't believe it's over." Pepper Winters's writing truly brought everything to life. From the character building to the flow of the story, her writing was superb! Quintessentially Q is a captivating story about real beautifully haunting love and its magic and everything else in between. This is the kind of book that leaves a lasting impression. This is the kind of book that, once it's over, you'll look back at your own life and contemplate. I know I did.

So overall, Quintessentially Q is a heart wrenching , compelling , erotically beautiful and seducing read will leave you marked forever and Q and Tess's journey will remain in the hearts of the readers for years to come .

5 stars is just soooo not happening for this book . Infinite stars to this one from , it's definitely a MUST READ !

Patty Devlin Visits! #ChristmasJoy

I just finished reading the most wonderful Christmas story by Patty Devlin. It's called Christmas Joy and I just had to know how she came up with the idea. What her inspiration was! She was nice enough to tell me in detail! Join us for some spiked spiced egg nog and without further waiting may I present Miss Patty Devlin.


My inspiration for this book was actually something that has been weighing on me for a while. Homelessness. I work in a Pregnancy center and see people from all walks of life, from the twelve and thirteen year olds to the forty-something. The kids who still live at their parents to the has-beens that don't know where they're going to sleep that night.

It's hard for anyone who works in social work to leave their work at everyday. I know. I hear it all the time. I know some people want their books to be light-hearted and fun and I tried to make sure this one was. But for me there was something else weighing on me- My recent trip to Hawaii where privileged folk takes dream vacations but the less fortunate pollute the beaches with what they call home: tents and sleeping bags, and everything they own, a bag, a chair...

An article I read said the city was trying to make it illegal for the homeless people to stay in the Waikkiki beach district, or the tourist hotel district. They knew what an eyesore it was and that it was affecting business. They were even going as far as trying to ship them to the mainland. Unfortunately, many of these "eyesores" didn't have identification to travel or family or hope on the mainland either.

I don't know, but it saddens me that human life is considered an eyesore and a problem that may result in people enjoying their high dollar vacations less.

I also wanted to get away from the stereotypical beauty-queen heroine. I hope that even though Christmas Joy was so deep it was fun and sexy too.

Now, I have incorporated one of my favorite family traditions in the book. That was hunting down the perfect Christmas tree out in the woods. We, as children, would bundle up in the back of our family car with cocoa and cookies and go for an all day ride through the national forest looking for the perfect tree. Most of the time we would end up getting out somewhere and walking for a a long stretch when we got close to narrowing it down. We did do this once with my daughter when she was a baby and I shared the story here on Celeste's Blog. We didn't do it again until this year... And the tree was much too tall to fit in the house! My dear husband had to keep taking it and cutting more and more out to get it to fit inside and by the time he was done he'd cut too much off. Go figure.

Now, lets find out more about this wonderful story!
 Christmas Joy

Joy hitches a ride headed to the Double R ranch, looking for a job. She is desperate to find a place to stay before the snow flies, however, she isn’t prepared for the feelings the large, sexy and entirely dominant man, who finds her, stirs deep inside her.

Living on the road has been hard and with her past she should beg for the job, but running is easier than dealing with her fears and these new feelings, isn’t it?

Nick is used to being in charge, after all he has been the one taking care of his brothers for years. So, he knows just what Joy needs—and he’s more than willing to put her over his knee and give it to her.

Nick’s also used to people leaving. He’s not used to having a chance to change it. Can he find her, convince her to trust him, and bring her back?

Will Nick be able to bring Joy into his home, his heart, and keep her there—for good, not just for Christmas? My Review:This book had a great meaning of what the Christmas season is truly about and what happens when you do something nice for someone. This story is about real feelings, the ones that tear you apart. Emotions that Joy doesn't want to face. Right now is the wrong time or is it? Excellent short story with a very strong story line and characters so real you want to meet them. Great story!

Overall, this was a brilliant, heart-warming tale that automatically puts you in the Christmas spirit. It’s a quick short read that I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend.

Wow! I really don't know where to begin. Everything about this story was just awesome. Don't let the cover fool you! It's stunning and beautiful yes, but this story is filled with so much action and adventure that I could see it becoming a movie. Well, an R rated movie ;)

Old-Fashioned Christmas is addicting! I seriously had to lock my kindle in the other room to stop reading while I did my chores... and the entire time I was cleaning I was thinking about the story! Then, as soon as I finished I raced back to my kindle to finish! I couldn't help it!

Nickie Flynn provides her reader with wonderful emotional and sizzling hot moments focusing on Joe and Melissa. Wow, let me just tell you that we get some nuclear hot and kinky times that will leave you panting. Seriously, Nickie Flynn knows how to write erotica. Damn! We also get some special Christmas family time and it was awesome to see.

I truly loved this book and it was such a treat. Old-Fashioned Christmas was simply a wonderful holiday read that had me smiling enthusiastically and definitely had me seeking out my fan in the middle of winter. Say what? Yes, as I have explained, Nickie Flynn....hot scenes ...spanking ....um....you get the picture.

I simply can’t get enough of the sexy Joe and will be anxiously awaiting the remainder of the books in this series, especially after some of the snippets that we get throughout this book. All I can say is, I am sure excited about what’s in store for Joe and Melissa!

Oh my dear lord , I am out of words to describe what an amazing book this has turned out to be . Honestly speaking and no offense to reviewers who have reviewed it words cannot comply or even describe or make you realize how good this book is . I mean , no matter what I write here or what you've already read about it can in no way make you experience the intensity of this story . It's up to you pick it up , strap yourself and be lost in what I call a journey of a lifetime .
This book is totally bad-ass, awesome, epic, pawned, heart-stopping, hair-raising, spine-tingling, thrilling, electrifying, breath taking, totally wicked yada yada. I can go on and on but I think my limited vocabulary won't do it justice... so I'll just get on with my review!
If you are like most readers, one of the joys of reading is being swept away to another world for a few hours at a time. Reading can be an escape from the mundane activities of our daily lives, and it can be a doorway through which we enter the heart and soul of people and places we might never experience in real life. Well, Quintessentially Q is just like that! It's a true masterpiece, raw and powerful, a master class on creating rich settings and authentic characters.
There are love stories, there are Nicholas Sparks books, and then there's THIS. This masterpiece by Pepper Winters. This has got to be one of, if not the most touching books I've ever read. I enjoyed every page, every detail, every minute I spent reading it.
Before everything else, I think it's only fair that I warn you, dear reader, that this book is going to make you scream. It will make you beg and cry for mercy. You will want to put the book down and I urge you to keep going. The further I got into the story, the more I appreciated it. I wished the story wouldn't end. It's that good!
When I was finished, I felt so attached to the characters that I just thought, "It's over. I can't believe it's over." Pepper Winters's writing truly brought everything to life. From the character building to the flow of the story, her writing was superb! Quintessentially Q is a captivating story about real beautifully haunting love and its magic and everything else in between. This is the kind of book that leaves a lasting impression. This is the kind of book that, once it's over, you'll look back at your own life and contemplate. I know I did.
So overall, Quintessentially Q is a heart wrenching , compelling , erotically beautiful and seducing read will leave you marked forever and Q and Tess's journey will remain in the hearts of the readers for years to come .
5 stars is just soooo not happening for this book . Infinite stars to this one from , it's definitely a MUST READ !
