I told you that it wouldn’t be easy,
that I would never be someone
who was easy to love -
but you took the challenge on
anyway.
I can say that I’m not surprised
at your sudden disapproval
for the parts of me that not even
I can’t stand, but you can’t say
that I didn’t warn you,
because I warned you.
I slapped on a neon orange
hazard sign just to make sure
you knew what you
were getting yourself into.
But you still crossed that line,
and how can you even say
that I should have given you
a heads up.
