T for Tidy

Tidy is something I am not.Today I decided to spend Time doing art.
I had not been doing as much art as I prefer with all the things I signed up for this month and I missed it so today was arty.

As I mentioned yesterday, this weeks theme in the 52 week challenge is HORSE so here for your viewing pleasure are the first batch of my horses.

Sumptuous, sublime, submission, sing

Sing a song of sixpence a pocket full of rye
four and twenty black birds baked in a pie
when the pie was opened the birds began to sing
and wasn't that a dainty dish to set before the king and so on and so forth for verse after verse...

Have you ever taken the time to wonder where these nursery rhymes come from, what their history is? I love doing that and finding the verses that were not

R is for Responsibility, Rejection, Rapacious and Rewrites

Right back when I was a little tacker I disliked the three R's.
Reading was okay but Writing and Arithmetic, which was always known as Mathematics, did not start with R. I did not understand how anyone who was supposed to teach me expected me to respect their ability to do so if they could not spell.
I did not know about assonance and consonance back then and I still do not think it is

Q is quintessential

Q in the guise of "God" in the episode  "Tapestry"  Star trek of course.

Portrayed by the actor John de Lancie

I love this character best of all the star trek characters and I have been a star trek fan since the original series. Q is quixotic and the quintessential 'wild card' character. He is the ultimate trickster. I admire a writer who can take this kind of character and really

P for Poetry

Poetry. All this month I have been studying various forms of poetry and the various components of rhyme. Metrical feet, iambic pentameter, dactyl, spondee, trochee and all the other weird words that are the jargon of poetics.

I am slowly beginning to understand some of it and know it will take some time and practice before it becomes quick and easy.

One of my favourite poems of childhood was

O for overachiever

Overachievers are individuals who "perform better or achieve more success than expected." [1]
The implicit presumption is that the "overachiever" is achieving
superior results through excessive effort. In a teaching context, an
"overachiever" is an educational label applied to students, who perform better than their peers when normalised for the instructor's perceptions of background,

This was my first attempts at using scratch paper. I didn't think about the direction of the book or the orientation of the text and while I like

M is for Maniacal Monacle wearing Monarch Monkey

Much ado about nothing. I am going to bed early tonight and intending to try and become an early riser. My plan is to manoeuver myself into a much more physical maintenance program. I have my physiotherapy exercise sheets tacked to the wall, my weights and my stretch bands all ready to go.
I need to be much healthier if I am to meet the demands of my new career. So without further ado I shall

L for Lacrimonious Lundi

although I am not extremely teary and weepy at all.

Love is the best L word I think and Lasagna, licorice, lollies, lick, lemons, lyrebird, lyrics and lace.

Lucy Lawless is apparently an L name for today and has been on the tongue (la langue) of everyone at Melbourne SupaNova pop culture convention.

Lots of lucious L words languish and are lost from our language and we should look the up
