Sunshine and early mornings
I woke up early. I have no idea why. The sun shone through the window and I simply could not lay-a-bed one moment extra so I decided to take myself to a cafe and have eggs benedict for breakfast. A BIG mistake. It was way too early in the morning to be eating such a huge serve of ham and strong flavoured spinnach with an overly generous lake of hollandaise sauce and I ordered a hot chocolate

self doubt and Sunday's
One of the most debilitating things for any creative person is self doubt. There are any number of memes depicting the cyclic nature of perceived worth for any work, be it writing, music, or art in any form. I am no different from hundreds of thousands of other creatives who doubt themselves and their ability to create something worthwhile.

Sams solution- the art journey of a small press published book.
Last year in March I jumped into the tail end of the chapter book challenge (ChaBooCha) run by Becky Fyfe (facebook group and http://chapterbookchallenge.blogspot....) and contributed stories to the Teapot Tales anthology.

Sunday musing
It has been a formidable week and an amazing one and tiring and thought provoking. I managed to write a picture book draft and have revised it several times. I uploaded the first 250 words to the forum on 12 x 12 and had some excellent suggestions and feedback for improving the piece. I sent it off to two ladies to critique but have yet to hear back from them. I am hoping to send it off to RYS (

What do we leave out?
This is the colour of my daughter's hair. I have to share. I simply love it.
It was an accidental colour but it suits her so much. The only other person I have ever known to pull of this particular shade is the character Lilu (Scarlett Johansson) in the fifth element,
My daughter can wear just about any colour. She has that pale pale vampire skin, the kind that used to be referred to as

okay what'sthe date?
It is the 12th of August and I am finding more and more wonderful things to do with my words and art. I have been participating in a desultory manner in the Nerdy chicks Kidlit summer school, in fact for a while I have been desultory about a lot of things but I am finding my 'mojo' again.
The term 'mojo' has an interesting history. If you would like to know more, I suggest reading this blog

The week spins by so fast I'm dizzy
Here we are back at Sunday. It is a beautiful day today with the sky clear blue. Quite a few places around the state experienced sub zero temperatures this morning and the snow has been falling steadily in the mountain regions. Snow is not something many people outside of Australia associate with our giant island home. Sun, surf and beach goers are the stereotype people think of when 'Aussie(

My poor neglected blog
My blog has taken a back seat to many other interests of late. One of the best things any writer can do is to live their life. Experiences add authenticity to prose and poetry. How can we write about a thing when we have nothing with which to compare it?
I completed the art work for one writer and have begun some concept drawings for another. My new chair and desk have arrived and I am so very

A week later
Today is Sunday the 20th of July. I like a date at the beginning of a post so I can tell how current and relevant it is. Sometimes it is very difficult to get basic information about a piece of information on the internet. My daughter is studying her second last year of high school and needs to find information that is current and relevant and it is not always a simple task to verify.
It seems

Friday 11th July
Today is not a birthday for anyone I know. It is cold with a high of just 13 and 7 the expected low. My eyes are twitching from too much screen and we are all on a frenzy to clean. Clothes from the wardrobe and boxes of things to send to the op shop. Yesterday a door knocking fund raiser came in out of the cold. I made him a coffee and gave him some gloves and sent him on his way. Nice lad,
