Thursday and Friday blending
I received a gift in the mail yesterday. My friend Kristy-Lyn who is a mad keen cat person and horsewoman of some skill and renown, as well as a marvelous business woman and maker of exquisite shawls, made me a shawl. She had been crocheting one in purples and thought "No this isn't right, it doesn't feel right for her(me)" and she went on the hunt for a colour more suitable to how she sees me

June is already speeding up
Someone lent me this book and it sat on my shelf gathering dust. I tried to return it to the library unread because I forgot where it came from but they gave it back to me, then in one of those, damn I have nothing to read, moments I picked it up and within the first chapter had become a Scott Lynch fan. So I am off to purchase my own copy, send this borrowed one home to the person who lent it to

Sunday so sleepy
I am back from an enormous journey around Victoria. I took a train on Friday to Melbourne and a suburban train to Blackburn and stayed in Forest Hill and on Saturday my sister and I traveled up to Kyabram past Shepparton to attend a memorial service for our Aunty Jeanette. The whole experience was a little surreal but the day was amazing in so many ways. I reacquainted myself with someone I had

Thursday Thinking
Today was less weepy than yesterday which is a good thing but it was also a thinking day. A fairly busy day. I took Lucky Luke to an appointment and entered the lair of the age challenged youth workers, visited two government departments, dropped the darling daughter off at her band practice, saxophone practice and an appointment. I was bitterly disappointed to have ti confirmed that the housing

It is Tuesday and I managed to miss Monday.
Actually I was visiting and travelling home and then could not wait to get into my own bed for a good night sleep. The funny thing about being away is how much coming home feels so good. So before I type up my notes from the weekend I want to tell you about an exciting opportunity I am going to involve myself in. A man approached the 52 week challenge group and asked for people to design his

and Dade is not a follower of my blog. (How dare he) instead he intends to read a gamers book called Oblivion oh I am corrected the game is named Oblivion and this is the game guide he is reading. The official game guide. Whilst typing this post I am reading it out loud in a condescending and irritating manner and Dade is thinking of revenge tactics. Veronica on the other hand is catching up on

Saturday and San Remo
I attended two fabulous workshops today. In the morning Kristen was taking us through the four 'what ifs' of writing a good short story.
. what if there is a challenge to the status quo
. what if there is an alternate narrator or narrative
.what if there is a challenge to the character
.what if there is a dilemma or surprise
she expanded on all these and had us writing short responses to prompts
