Friday in Philip Island

Heading off from Stawell, it took us six hours to get to Philip Island. We stopped in Glenroy at the kebab house for lunch and it was magnificently delicious. Then we managed to take a wrong turn due to the map book being seven years behind the new turns but extricated ourselves from that and were soon merrily tootling down the Mornington freeway and finally arrived at The Island Accommodation

Thursday and I'm thirsty

Well I went to the doctor this morning and I had the wrong day and it wasn't even my appointment. A crazy start to the day so I went for retail therapy and spent one dollar.

I took my own sweet time packing my bag and I had a leisurely lunch.

Since finding my missing paperwork I have been so much more relaxed and now that all my folders are tidy and organised even more than they were, I am

weepy wow what when how Wednesday

Today I felt the whole roller coaster ride of emotions. I sent daughter dear on the train to a birthday party and she forgot something vital so I had to run home and rush to the post office and priority pay it thus adding to the expense of an already expensive day. I was feeling a bit pushed to the wall financially already but put the essentials in the fridge for the boyos while I head off to

a birthday Tuesday

Happy birthday to my youngest. We had cake with her favourite music store guys for morning tea after band at 8am and I organised her student travel card, picked up her friends from school and paid for her trip to another friends birthday. Lots of focus on her today which was lovely.

I received a parcel in the mail. It was a prize for

Moody Monday and rejection letters

 Waiting for who?

I had three of my stories rejected today. This is part and parcel for writers but three in one day is a bit hard to take. One was for a picture book that took seven months from submission, the second one came in the wee small hours and only took eleven weeks and the third one was a small piece rejected very quickly.  There is a lot of waiting in the mainstream publishing world.

Sunday's child rewrites the tune

so I deviate from the old rhyme because it doesn't fit with modern children.
The traditional lyrics
Monday's child is fair of face,Tuesday's child is full of grace,Wednesday's child is full of woe,Thursday's child has far to go,Friday's child is loving and giving,Saturday's child works hard for a living,But the child who is born on the Sabbath DayIs bonny and blithe and good and gay.     My

Thursday's child has far to go

I have a Thursday child. I expect she will go far.

Not much time for much today because I have written almost 12,000 words today and loving where this story is going. It has been brewing and gurgling for about four years now and finally coming to fruition. I am going back to the novel now so have a wonderful Friday when you get there.

Wednesday's child it full of woe

Well Wednesday wasn't full of woe but I did discover I am a teensy bit crazy either I am insane crazy or just a normal writer.  Today I decided to reread a novel I wrote
in Nov. it still needs a few chapters but I had put it aside in
January. When my two characters met after a long absence I burst into
tears and found myself leaving the computer to make myself a cup of tea, sobbing all the way
