Weekly Round up

Welcome Back!

Time for this week’s Round Up post! What are the highlights of what I’ve been reading this past week? If you remember, I said in a previous post, I read or scan about 500 blogs on a regular basis.

What I post on this blog tends to be a combination of answers to submitted questions, cool infographics I find and think are worth sharing and these Round Up posts are a way of summarizing a few helpful articles I have found that would be of use to my audience.

This Sunday, I want to share 3 interesting blog posts.

I field a lot of questions about how to “Optimize” or just generally improve the content on a website. The first article I’m sharing is on the subject of how to improve your blog page. I found it to be clear and concise with actionable steps.

How To Improve Your Blog Page

The second article I’m sharing today is about the next major WordPress update which is currently scheduled for a couple of months from now. I like to know what is in the works for these updates before they actually arrive.

WordPress 5.3 Development Kicks Off: UI Polishing, Editor Improvements, and New Twenty Twenty Default Theme

The last post I’m sharing today is about easing folks onto your mailing list. I have written about this in one of my books as well as numerous blog posts. Many different reasons for the creation of welcome notes or a series of welcome notes. This blog post found on The Book Designer is a great commentary on this subject. Enjoy!

7 Tips to Stay Safe on Public WIFI

Welcome back!

We are often advised to “stay safe” on public WIFI. So…how do we do that exactly? Many of the authors I work with are stellar writers, but not very technical. So…giving the advice of “stay safe” is not a helpful piece of advice.

Today’s infographic grabbed my attention as it gives some specific pieces of advice. Hopefully you find this helpful.
