NO SUCH THING AS CAN'T by Melissa Kendall

Genre: Paranormal Erotic RomanceCover Designer: Tibbs Design

After a string of failed relationships, thirty-five-year-old Madeline Majors worries her life will never be complete. Her obsession with having a child and her inability to conceive even though a multitude of doctors have said there is nothing medically wrong with her drives her to Madame Evangeline as her last resort.
Garth Summers is a shape shifter with a problem. As Alpha of his pack, he must have an heir by the time he is fifty years of age or a new alpha is chosen from the eligible males in the pack. But as a wolf shifter, he can only conceive with his mate who he has yet to find. With only six weeks remaining, he turns to Madame Eve for help.
Can a one-night stand bring two people the one thing they most desperately want, or will the reality of what they are send them both running?

“I don’t care what it is. I just want you,” Maddy said.
“I think you’ll care about this,” Garth replied, certain of it. Her whole world was about to be turned on its head. He opened his mouth, but a knock at the door stopped him. “Shit, dessert. Hang on a sec. I’ll be right back.”
He put his pants back on and winced as he tried to get his fly done up. Even with everything else going on, he remained rock hard. He strode to the door and pulled it open without even looking. The man filling the doorway had him wishing he’d taken the extra few seconds to check.
“What the fuck are you doing here, William?” Garth asked, his voice close to a growl.
Before he could stop him, William crossed the threshold into the suite. “Now, now, cousin. Is that any way to talk to family?”
Garth moved to put himself between Madeline and William. His cousin’s glee meant something bad was about to happen. “I’ll ask you one more time. What are you doing here?”
“Well, word of your little tryst reached me, and I thought I’d better come and see how things were going.” William finished with a wink, and Garth’s wolf pushed for control, wanting to knock the irritating smirk off his face.
“None of your fucking business. Now, get out, before I have you removed.”
“Not a chance, cuz. I have worked too hard for you to ruin my plans at this late stage.” William stepped forward until there were only inches between them. William didn’t scare him with his intimidation tactics. He could take his cousin in a fight, and William knew it. Also, if he moved back any farther, William would able to see Madeline, something not happening if Garth could avoid it.
He held his stoic expression and his ground, and, slowly, his cousin’s smile disappeared. Garth suspected William wanted him to ask about his plan, but he knew his cousin well enough to know his pride would have him spilling his guts sooner rather than later.
Neither of those things would happen if the footsteps he could hear behind him got any closer. “Madeline,” Garth called out, “please, do not come any closer.”
Before he could tell her to go and lock herself in the bathroom, his cousin opened his trap. “Oh no, my dear Madeline, please do come here. I want to meet my cousin’s lady friend.”
“What’s going on?” She sounded far too close. A quick glance over his shoulder revealed her standing a few steps behind him, wearing his shirt. Damn, that’s sexy.
He didn’t have time right now to do what he wanted to her. He had to figure out what the fuck William wanted and get him to leave before things turned furry.

A year ago, Amelia, Annie, and Charlotte found second loves in unexpected places. Now, everyone’s life seems to have fallen into place… until a late night knock on Charlotte’s door shakes up everything.
Love rarely goes as planned…
Unexpected news leaves Amelia confused and worried. She loves Owen but is not sure what her future holds, especially with them living the tour life. As the months pass by and Amelia begins to question everything, she wonders if her relationship with Owen can truly last forever.
Sometimes a first love creeps back in…
While helping Amelia sort out her life, Annie finds new problems of her own. A visitor from her past threatens to overturn her relationship with Joe. Annie must make some difficult choices.
As the three women face new complexities in the sequel to Then Comes Love, they learn the fairy tale can fade, leaving you to question everything you thought you knew. However, family and friendship can sometimes be the link you need to find what you want.

“Of course not, Charlotte. Get back in bed. Who would possibly be at the door at this hour other than a robber?” Leonard hissed at her, trying to yank her arm. He didn’t have his glasses on, so he didn’t even make contact with her.
Charlotte shook her head at the silly man.
“I’ll take my chances,” she whispered as he groaned and got out of bed.
“If we end up tied up it’s because of you,” he grumbled, rubbing sleep from his eyes. The pounding continued as Charlotte grabbed her glasses from the nightstand on her way from the room.
“Coming,” she yelled.
“Great, now the robber knows we’re here.” Leonard sighed, following closely behind.
“You’ve been watching too much Dateline.” As she crossed the kitchen and put her hand on the doorknob, she begrudgingly paused. She couldn’t admit Leonard was right. Peering at the clock on the stove, she realized it was 11:06 p.m. Probably not the smartest time to open your door. But she was committed now and couldn’t admit she had the creeps, not with Leonard right there ready to say told you so. So Charlotte flung the door to the right, and waited to face her attacker.
The sight in front of her eyes in the darkened hallway was both glorious and terrifying.
Amelia stood in sweatpants and a hoodie, tears streaming down her face. Her hair was a frizzy mess and her eyes were bloodshot.
“Grandma, I’m so sorry. My flight just got in and I was going to wait to see you until tomorrow but I just needed to talk. Oh my gosh, you were sleeping. I’m an idiot.”
Charlotte was horrified by the potential reason behind Amelia’s sudden visit. She was supposed to be in Amsterdam right now. She wasn’t due home until Thanksgiving.

Lindsay's goal with her writing is to show the power of love and the beauty of life while also instilling a true sense of realism in her work. Some reviewers have noted that her books are not the “typical romance.” With her novels coming from a place of honesty, Lindsay examines the difficult questions, looks at the tough emotions, and paints the pictures that are sometimes difficult to look at. She wants her fiction to resonate with readers as realistic, poetic, and powerful. Lindsay wants women readers to be able to say, “I see myself in that novel.” She wants to speak to the modern woman’s experience while also bringing a twist of something new and exciting. Her aim is for readers to say, “That could happen,” or “I feel like the characters are real.” That’s how she knows she's done her job.
Lindsay's hope is that by becoming a published author, she can inspire some of her students and other aspiring writers to pursue their own passions. She wants them to see that any dream can be attained and publishing a novel isn’t out of the realm of possibility.

ALPHA TANGO by E.M. Denning

Determined to have the perfect day, Kevin’s sister signs him up for dancing lessons. His instructor, Ginger, thinks he bit off more than he could chew and offers him some private instruction after class. As his sister’s wedding approaches and his lessons come to an end, he soon learns the benefit of following Ginger’s lead.

“I’m sorry.” Kevin found himself stumbling over the words. He crossed his arms in front of himself. “I’ll just stand over here and watch.” He took a step back but Ginger grabbed him by the arm and led him to the middle of the floor.
“Follow my lead,” Ginger said as she placed one of his hands on her shoulder and the other on her lower back. Her emerald eyes flashed him a stern look. “And try not to step on my toes. These shoes are new and expensive.”
“I’m new at this,” he admitted. His annoyance gave his voice a hard edge. “So don’t expect miracles.”
“Don’t worry, I keep my expectations low when it comes to first timers.” Ginger took a step and Kevin immediately stomped on her foot. Her gaze flashed down to the scuff on her shoe, then up to his face. She took note of his cocky smirk and matched it with one of her own. “Okay, hot shot, you lead.”
Kevin froze. His hesitation didn’t go unnoticed.
“That’s what I thought.” Ginger squared her shoulders. “Now, follow me. Once you get the hang of the basics, you can lead.”
If Kevin were to write a list of the most horrible experiences of his life, ballroom dancing would have almost made it on there. The only thing stopping him from walking out of the studio and telling Camille to shove it was Ginger. She was all smiles and laughter, even when he stomped on her toes and scuffed her new shoes. Even though he never got the hang of the basics and ended up following her for the entire lesson, he loved touching her. She was light and agile, so fast on her feet. She reminded him of a ray of light, the way he could feel her warmth on his skin.
Kevin stuck around at the end of the lesson. He leaned against the wall and watched the other dancers filter out. Some stopped to pat him on the shoulder and tell him he did well. Others were honest and told him he’d eventually get the hang of it.
After Ginger had said goodbye to the last pair, she turned and eyed Kevin.
“So what brings you here anyway?”
“What?” Kevin grinned. “Can’t a guy broaden his horizons?”
“A guy like you?” Her gaze raked over his body and he bristled at her words.
A guy like him. What was that supposed to mean?
“There has to be a girl involved. Someone’s making you come here. Fiancée?”
Kevin laughed and shook his head. The thought of him with a fiancée made him both cringe and laugh. He’d dated a lot of women, called only a handful his girlfriend and had met exactly no one he’d want to spend anything resembling eternity with. “My sister is getting married. She’s making me dance with her at her reception.”
“At her wedding reception?” Ginger’s face melted into a look of concern. “When’s the wedding?”
“Six weeks.”
Ginger cringed. “No offence, Kevin, but I think you’re doomed.”

The Devil’s Analyst By Dennis Frahmann

Is it all coincidence, or are these just the first feats by a crazed admirer determined to force the truth from Danny? And what is the truth? The complicated days that follow force Danny to have another look at his own relationships, misdeeds, and damaged past. But will he ever learn the lesson that will satisfy the devil who taunts him?
Excerpt
C H A P T E R O N E
Midnight Twenty minutes to midnight, and the ice on the frozen lake outside cracked. The loud reverberations of winter echoed through the night and invaded Danny Lahti’s peace.Danny was prepared to let time move forward in whatever incremental way it chose. At that moment . . . sitting on a sofa in an enormous room near midnight . . . huddled within a century-old hunting lodge of a long-dead lumber tycoon . . . on the shoreline of a lake nearly forgotten in the isolated woods of northern Wisconsin, Danny Lahti was not concerned about the potential for a technological apocalypse as time turned to the year 2000.But he did feel on the brink. Something was about to happen. Things should change; they needed to change. He couldn’t really say why. Danny never felt he was the introspective type. But he had always felt connected to a larger universe, one in which he received premonitions of what was to come. The end of the century. Or maybe the start of a new millennium. It depended on the pundit. But computers only knew what they were programmed to know, and they weren’t programmed to deal with changing from 1999 to 2000. Maybe early computer scientists never thought about a century starting anew. December 31, 1999 could prove an existential threat. They called it “Y2K.” Who knows, maybe every generation deserved its opportunity to restart the clock. For Danny, his past was too painful, but the future felt too uncertain. In a way, his life could be the snowdrift-covered lawns that surrounded this house. On the surface, the drifts were unblemished and glistening in the weak moonlight. But beneath their surface, under the shapeless accumulated flakes, were the remains of years of living. If Danny had the time and the tools and the energy, he could shovel his way into discovering the dead flowerbeds, the abandoned lawn furniture, and the century’s worth of trails across the grounds. But who could be bothered? Eventually, the warm sun of spring would surely melt the snow. Just wait. The past would be exposed.Danny had always been the kind of person willing to wait. When he was only twelve, his mother committed suicide and he found her dead body. He waited then, always expecting someone would eventually arrive to explain what had happened and why. When his father withdrew into a hermit-like life that barely acknowledged his adolescent son’s existence, Danny still waited. Someone would surely make his father forget his dead wife and remember his child. He was still waiting. And when Josh came into his life, promising an escape from these cold woods into the warm, loving life of the Los Angeles sun, Danny followed and waited for Josh’s direction. He waited. He always had. Perhaps he always would. It was his nature not to rebel and not to question, to try to be good and not rock the boat. A new year, a new century, a new millennium, not even “Y2K” could change that. Because Danny Lahti had never been able to find the energy to grab the reins of his own life. And he didn’t intend to start now. And yet something was changing. He felt it.The ice cracked again. Nineteen minutes to midnight.

INFECTED WATERS: A TITANIC DISASTER by Alathia Paris Morgan

A TITANIC DISASTER
by Alathia Paris MorganGENRE: paranormal historical horror fiction

Everyone knows the tale of the Titanic…a doomed voyage…here is what actually happened on April 14, 1912. Murder, chaos, and the undead threaten to sink the ship faster than any iceberg.
As a nurse, Nora Ryan was prepared for the common illnesses, but what she discovers instead is an infection modern medicine has yet to name.
Head steward, Jonathan Davis was not expecting to meet Nora and he certainly wasn’t expecting to fight a deadly infection alongside her. As the first victim of this strange illness dies and passengers are rapidly becoming infected; these two strangers must find a way to stop these undead creatures from taking over the ship.
The trip home from England to America becomes hectic for the Lambert family when they overhear startling rumors from their second class stateroom. People are dying, and the dead are taking anyone they can sink their teeth into with them. Will their family make it to their destination or will they be caught in the rising tide of infection that intends to leave no living being behind?

“What happened?” Jonathan pulled her closer to help keep them both on their feet.
“Our patient died. I need to let the captain know so he can decide what to do about the body.” Nora took a deep breath to steady herself and instead inhaled Jonathan’s cologne.
“I’ll get him for you. Go back and stay with the body until we can get there.” …..
“What do you suggest we do with his body?” Nora asked Captain Smith, hoping he had an idea.
Exchanging glances with Jonathan, he informed them, “I believe we should burn his body. There is no one to identify it, and if we wait until we land, the infection from him might move to some of the passengers. It’s a chance I’m not willing to take. Has anyone else been stricken?”
“Just one crewman, sir. He isn’t doing so well.” Jonathan affirmed.
“It doesn’t seem to be an airborne illness. Only through the exchange of blood or saliva,” Nora added, hoping to be helpful….
“Nurse, I want you to keep me informed about our crewman or any other things that seem suspicious to you. If this is what I’m afraid it is, it will still manage to affect everyone, no matter how cautious we are in preventing it.”
“I understand, and will let you know of the slightest change in our passengers.”
“That is all I ask. Thank you so much for your service.” Tipping his hat, the captain left to return to his duties.
Jonathan passed the captain as he returned with his two roommates, Timothy and Brad.
“Okay, boys. We are going to wrap the body up tightly in the sheet so people don’t know what’s going on.”
“Here’s the stretcher. He’s all ready for you.” Nora stood back as the three men transferred the body over.
“When you get downstairs, make sure you throw him into the fire, along with the wrappings. We don’t want anything to spread.” Jonathan instructed the men.
Hurrying to open the door for them, Nora stood to the side. “Do you need me to come with you for anything?”
“Nah. We got it, pretty nurse.”
“Nothing we can’t handle.” Brad grinned at her, almost dropping his end of the stretcher.
Jonathan led the way through the corridors and over to the crew staircase, staying ahead to redirect anyone in their path.
“Even dead, this guy is super heavy. Wonder what he ate for dinner?” Brad asked.
“A fat man from the feel of it,” Timothy answered, laughing.
“Shh. We are supposed to keep this quiet, gentlemen.”
“Sorry, boss,” they whispered apologetically.
The door to the engine rooms kept the amount of noise contained and partitioned away from the passengers.
Concerned with how heavy it was and where they should set it down, Brad and Timothy never saw the body sit straight up until a hand landed on Timothy’s thigh.
“Bloody hell.” Timothy screamed as the infected man’s mouth latched onto his leg, its teeth tearing out a chunk of flesh.

The Bastard Son by Jerri Hines

The Bastard Son by Jerri Hines Series: Winds of Change, #2Genre: Historical Romance
Cover Designer: Erin Dameron-Hill at edhGraphicsRelease Date: July 26, 2016

Sumner Meador walked in a world of wealth and privilege as part of Charles Town’s elite, but that was years ago. Now he fights in the Southern backwoods driven by the passion he holds for the Patriot cause, shadowed by his past. Reeling from a devastating defeat at the hands of the British, Sumner seeks haven at his farm, only to find an interloper—an unwelcome and unwanted distraction. He has no time for the young woman or the complications she brings with her, but soon discovers he has no option but to give aid to the stubborn, courageous beauty whether she wants it or not.
Jane Kilmer has been violently thrust into the midst of the civil war ensuing in the backwoods. Hiding from one of the most dangerous vigilantes, Jane trusts no one. Suddenly, she has no choice but to put her life in Sumner’s hands. Both desire revenge, but neither wants what happens—to fall completely, undeniably in love with each other. As the war rages around them, their love is put to the ultimate test. The question becomes not whether their love will survive, but will they.
Author's Note: This book was previously published with Whiskey Creek Press as Another Night Falls under the Tides of Charleston Series.

Night had fallen. Everything had been set for the evening. The horses fed; the dishes cleaned. Warren promised to bring a cow next time out, although Sumner didn’t see the necessity since he wasn’t planning to be around here for long. But there again, the girl might enjoy fresh milk.
Jane prepared another fine meal for supper. She was a good cook, but he expected she had cooked from an early age.
Walking back from the barn, he found her sitting on the porch, smiling up at him. In the fading light, she looked beautiful. She had taken off her cap, leaving her hair down in a braid over her shoulder.
For the life of him, he couldn’t get the thought of having her in his arms out of his head, with her firm breasts pressed against him…her body arching instinctively to his.
Warren hadn’t even suggested it would be harmful to leave a young, innocent in his care. Perhaps, Warren thought it the lesser of the evils in her life.
“Thank you for the supper, Jane. I was thinking of retiring for the night.”
“I will do so shortly.” Rising, she moved over to the railing and stared out into the coming night.
Go, leave her. Instead, he came up behind her. “Are you feeling well? I know you still have the effects of the bump upon your head.”
“I have recovered,” she whispered. “It is not what bothers me. I feel so lost. I had thought I would at least have my grandfather’s land after…”
“We are working on a plan to remove you from this area. I know of people where you would be safe and won’t have to worry until after this war is finally over.”
Turning, her eyes met his. “I don’t want your pity.”
“It isn’t pity I feel for you.” With the words, all his good intentions dissipated with a strong craving to have her back in his arms. He gently caressed her cheek. “Run, Jane, from me.”
She made no movement to leave him. She lifted her face up to his. He needed nothing else for his lips to descend upon hers. He would have stopped if she pulled away. She did not.
His kiss deepened, devouring her with his lips. His hand lowered, caressing and smoothing along the curves of her body.
“I want you, Jane,” he whispered. “More than I have ever wanted another. You feel it also…this longing between us. Tell me you do.”
“Yes, Sumner, yes.”
He talked no more, but swept her in his arms and answered the dictates of his body. In quick strides, they were in the bedroom, making quick work of the barrier that lay between their bodies and their desire.
