Happy 1st of December!

This year has gone by too fast. But I'm happy with how it has gone.

And this past month I participated in NaNoWriMo and actually won it for the first and two days early, shocker, right?!

Later this month I get to celebrate this blog's 6th birthday, wowza!

That's all for now,

What's up Wednesday: Winners!

Hello readers,

I'm in the midst of reading HEIR OF FIRE. Whenever I put it down to do life, it kills me. I want to keep reading.

I'm still revising DH. Realized I never mentioned her old friends. Now they are starting to appear and love her new friends.

I'm also still doing NaNoWriMo. I'm at 41k!

Earlier, I was listening to the song True Colors. I think of writing color poems for my book. I realize I have. More than a couple, too. Two about black and white. One about purple. Two about rainbows.

Then suddenly I thought of the title for the book. Kaleidoscope.

My writing goal is to write 4k today. I did it yesterday, so I'm hoping I can do it again today. I hope I can win nanowrimo within the next two days.

Other than that, it's time to announce the winners of the giveaway! I will be contacting you soon.

Thank you for participating! If you haven't won or are still interested in my books, you can check them out here.

Monday Blessings

Hello readers,

I'm blessed I could have a little blog tour for my poetry collection.

I love those unexpected plot twists in stories you read and even in the stories you write.

My biggest blessing is my friends and everything they do for me.

Last Day of HUGS & KISSES Blog Tour

Hello readers,

It's the last day of this belated blog tour. I decided I should share with you some known and unknown behind the scenes facts:

1. While looking for poems to include I cried reading some of them.

2. These poems took more than three but five years.

3. I was supposed to publish in late July but unintentionally delayed it until mid August.

4. It's the shortest out of my three books.

5. Shel Silverstein is one of my inspirations.

I will be announcing the winners of my giveaway on Wednesday. Thank you!

Hugs & Kisses Tour Day 4

Hello readers,

Poetry Prompt:

Write a love letter to something or someone you had to let go.

My attempt:

I love you
I'm going to miss you
I already hear your pleas
I hear my own
but I'm going to have to let you go

You don't know this
but I do
I want the best for you

You aren't in a safe place
the best place
I want you to be comfortable
loved by more than one person
to be safe

I love you enough
to let you go
know you will remember me
I will see you soon.

What's up Wed: Blog Tour Day 3

Hello readers,

What I'm Reading

CROWN OF MIDNIGHT! The first book was already great but this second book kicked it up a notch with the OMG! moments.

What I'm Writing:

I'm keeping on with NaNoWriMo at 28k!

In between I'm switching back and forth between two stories:

Reading Deciding Hijab after a long break. I forgot about her short conversation about a school dance club. I didn't even put in a scene of her joining after the conversation. More revisions to come.

The other story is one I have a sneak peak on Wattpad.

What Else:

It's day three of belated Hugs & Kisses blog tour.

Earlier this month Medeia reviewed my book.

If you have read it or is planning to read it I would love to see your review on goodreads!

Poetry Prompt:

Write about the feeling reading gives you.

Hugs & Kisses Tour Day 2: Cover Design

Hello Poetteers,

It's day two of the belated blog tour! I get to talk about the cover design. I knew I wanted an illustration. A hand drawn look a like. An animal or little child with a balloon.

While looking up cover artists I fell in love with Sarah Kettle's work. I picked her to make the cover.

She did deliver what I wanted along with more. The title had to be in the picture. When I saw the mockup with two birds holding balloons and kissing with a kiss imprint in the background, I knew it was perfect.

We just had to change some color and finalize it. She added some beautiful floral bordering and it was set to go.

Poetry Prompt

Include birds and balloons in a poem.

Hugs & Kisses Tour Day 1: Cover Title

Hello Poetteers,

It's day one of belated blog tour of HUGS & KISSES.

I already knew I would be using the older poems on my blog. I had to name my book after it.

The format is what I was thinking about. Maybe to have it like a list.

Hugs.
Kisses.
Poetry.

Maybe I should take out the the word poetry.

Hugs.
Kisses.

Then I decided to simply have it HUGS & KISSES. I wondered to add 'a poetry collection'. I decided against it, since I didn't do it for the other two.

Poetry Prompt:

Include hugs and kisses in a poem.

Monday Blessings:

Blessed to be in the culture and diversity I'm in.

I'm glad I get to do this.
That I still haven the energy to do this when there isn't much.

Love, Fida

What's up Wednesday

Hello readers,

What I'm Reading:

I got and read two e-Arcs.

1. Behind the Stars by Leigh T Moore. I gave it 5 stars. The synopsis was left vague which left the story to be unexpected.

2. The Attic of Sand and Secrets by Medeia Sharif. I gave it 4 stars. I love the mystery. I love the diversity.

Also, I finally... for the first time, got to read THRONE OF GLASS by Sarah J Maas!! I gave it 5 stars.

You will find more in depth reviews on goodreads.

What I'm Writing:

I'm in that two week slump for NaNoWriMo. This weekend I was at 17k. It's been three days and I'm at 18k. Hopefully better days are coming.

Lists are very helpfully. I recently learned one way to revise your novel is to write one line about each page you have. It's timely but you get to see what you character or plot point is missing.

What Else:

Got an award from Jessica at Lunatic Poet, thank you! I have to give seven facts and pass it on to some of my favorite bloggers.

- I've been blogging for almost 6 years. The 6th anniversary in December.
- This is my 4th year doing NaNoWriMo

- I have 3 self published poetry books: A TO Z POETRY, HER OLIVES and HUGS & KISSES.
- I created this hashtag/team name for my readers: #Poetteers.

I award this to Crystal and Medeia.

Thank you,
Fida
