Book Review: Code Name & Speak

Hello readers,

I found Code Name Verity a couple days ago, bought and read it. Here is what I thought of it.

Part One: It's tough read and hard to get into in the first few pages, but then it started getting very interesting. I love the three book references I found and the chocolate one. At points the story is either scary or funny. I love that it reads like a journal. It's cool to have the story in third person. It's interesting reading all this knowing the narrator is in prison. I love her last words the friends exchanged and how she ended her journaling with I have told the truth.

Part Two is a different pov. The girl's friend. It's great that she survived the plane landing. It's scary knowing who she's living with since their son is part of the prison. It's sad and relieving that she found out about her friend through a reporter.

I nearly cried when she confessed death. The author's note is interesting, too. So much research was put into this. You really should read this! Now that I have finished I already miss the characters. I want to read it's companion novel, ROSE UNDER FIRE.

Right after finishing CNV I immediately picked up Speak. I didn't want to dwell too much. I had finally got my reading streak back.

I wanted to cry the whole time I read it. It inspired me to write a few poems. I could relate to the story, yet in a different way. I love how everything slowly turned around for her. Everyone should read this, don't lose your voice. I know I should read more from this author, Laurie H. Anderson.

Love,

Where I Offically Announce It!

Hello readers,
After so many years of being told I need to publish my poetry. Even after publishing bits in magazines I keep hearing it. They want a collection. I try to research some publishers, but it didn't seem right. Soon self publishing sees the light. I do some research, go to my first online conference and gain the confidence I needed. But I didn't have the money. I hear about crowdfunding and tried it, but it failed.

I've created my own cover or two, it's minimal unlike other people's but I'm in love with it. I found people to help me with editing.

A to Z Poetry will be published September 19, 2013 - add it on Goodreads!

Also, I am wondering who is willing to help out with the cover reveal on the 4th? And the blog tour on the week of the 16th? Let me know by filling the sign up form.

Also sign up for the poetry blogfest on the week of the 9th! The fest will have challenges and I'll be picking my four favorites at the end of the week to have a special feature in the book (with your permission of course!)

Thank you and love,

Hello readers,

I'm finally doing another WUW!! And I have a surprise at the end (:

What I'm Reading

Unfortunately, nothing. But I may have an ARC of 'Ultraviolet Catastrophe' by Jamie Grey in my hands later today!

What I'm Writing

I'm revising a WIP. And getting back to my journal.

What Inspires Me Right Now

All these contests that are about to start and all the books that are being released.

What Else I've Been Up To

Remember how I tried a hand at crowdfunding and it failed? Well I have a back up plan, even though it's minimal.

Next week I will be revealing the release date for my poetry collection. I hope you are all excited because I am!! Also I will have an official call for those who want to help. Get ready and thank you!!

Love,

Less Social Media, More Writing

I made myself a somewhat strict schedule to not going on social media that much. For once in a long while I started my day without going on social media but by writing. It felt very good!

After doing my morning routine is when I went on social media, which is two hours after I wake up. It feels great to feel the breezy weather! Instead of tweeting it feels good to actually be journaling again (: I did yoga and really did feel calm and into the movements like the past few other ones this month.

I'm a bit ahead of the schedule and it feels good to be at more I want to do this than I have to do this.

Read some blogposts for about fifteen mins, now I'm off to social media for fifteen mins, but stayed for ten mins extra. But during social media I shared my pitch to be critiqued and critiqued others. So ten mins late and I'm getting myself to write in my WIP.

After lunch I spent time on social media. And attempting to do some edits. Then some more writing. I kind of can say after noon my plan went downhill. But I'm happy with the experiment.

In a bit I'm off to be tossed into sibling world.

Love,

Silly Flash Fic

Hello readers,
Ms. Janet Reid is having another one of her contests today and I entered! Of course here's my entry:
It's around 75 degrees outside and I want to be out all day. I don't want it to include the chum bucket or any bucket except my bucket list. I don't want any dirt on me or have to take a way too long shower to wash it off. At least I'm wearing my outdoor pants.
