Look at that second definition...and then shake your fist in the air and cry "NOOOO!"


Yes, "literally" no longer means literally. Now it means something that isn't literally true, but is used for emphasis or to express strong feeling.



As in "I literally hate that definition!" Of course, it's been pointed out that using literally that way is hyperbole. And hyperbole
shouldn't be taken literally.
