Review: Dead Heat by Patricia Briggs

Dead Heat

Alpha & Omega Book 4

By Patricia Briggs

Paperback
Published by Ace

Alpha and Omega Series follows suit with the rest of the books so far. And

Out Today: The Last Boy At St Ediths, Well of Witches, A Gathering of Shadows, etc

The Last Boy at
St. Edith’s by Lee Gersten Malone –

accurately, a girls problem. Four hundred and seventy-five of them. That's how

Changing your Manuscript: Good, Bad, & Ugly

Hey guess what? Your first draft sucks. No way to get
around it, they’re all just crap.
But seriously, you’re going to need to edit that puppy

Vilifying Disability & Mental Illness

First off: Stop it.

I don’t get this trend. It feels lazy, oppressive, and
overall systematically abusive.
There is something heinous about the way the “other” is

I don’t really have a post for today, I just want someone
to explain to me why this is (apparently) still okay in media?

Breaking the Rules: 3 Things That Don't Work

When you’ve been writing and doing the indie publishing
thing for a while, you’re bound to run into a newbie who doesn’t know the
rules. It’s just a part of the process and it’s physically impossible to know
all the rules from the get go. You have to start somewhere, right?

The problem is not those newbies who don’t understand the
rules. It’s the ones who’ve read posts and articles about

Bechdel Test: Why it's Important and Why it's Tragic

The Bechdel Test, for those of you who aren’t already

In order to pass
the Bechdel test, a story has to do three things:
1 – It needs at least 2 named female characters
2 – those characters have to talk to each other
3 – the conversation has to be
