Actually I'd given up on writing. I was discouraged. Every book seemed to wring me out emotionally and because they were not huge successes in the publishing world, I wondered if I should keep on. I was empty. Nothing creative was going on for me, bu

Mostly I think the inspiration comes from not feeling too pushed about it. I hate deadlines because they take creative control out of my hands and put a date on it, a date that does not always allow me to back away from the work and then come forward

Firefly Lane (Firefly Lane #1)

That was the thing about best friends. Like sisters and mothers, they could piss you off and make you cry and break your heart, but in the end, when the chips were down, they were there, making you laugh even in your darkest hours.
There's little surprise that this is the sentiment used in Netflix's trailer for Firefly Lane, the series. It is the very heart of the novel. Real friends are in for the long haul. That's not always pretty, and it doesn't come without some ups and downs, but it is the foundation of friendship.
