Mission accomplished!

It’s a 3-star review, but I’m proudest of this one. I startedNow & Foreverto be inspirational for both the sorts of parents and teens that the story is about, but also for their friends and families. To see a positive review from one such parent of one such teen is very warming:

3 of 5 stars

It’s a week before her freshman year when Lauren Conners is thinking, for what feels like the billionth time, of breaking up with her boyfriend of the past couple of years....

Is it just me or …

Does anyone else ever see that bit advertising “Learn how to drive more engagement to your site” in their WP stats page and you start imagining lots of people suddenly coming to your blog to propose marriage?

How many of you will now I’ve said that?

Mwhahaha … hmmm evil genius laughs are fun. Noted.

update: how odd. I hit publish on this at 6:30 this morning and I just found it in pending status. I was woken feeling very ill. Still don’t feel well. Feel well enough to find this post a little odd...

Contemplations

I can’t sleep. This is not good, I have an optometrist appointment in eight hours. C’est la vie.

Instead I will chatter on, as is my wont.

I’ve always been fascinated and a bit wary of user reviews. Yes this was prompted by my recent reception of one, but not about it. My feelings on that are neutral or confused, this post is just my sleep deprived brain unloading old thoughts. Thoughts from before I ever wrote anything that wasn’t for school.

So, back to what I was saying, I’ve always been wary...

Well … that’s depressing

Well, the one star on Goodreads was updated to include a review. They posted it on Amazon too.

I must say, it’s odd to see someone posting a one star review of something they say they didn’t finish. It’s typically considered bad form – unless the review was: This book wasn’t even spell checked, it’s unreadable. Technical merit, or more to the point a lack thereof, being a quite valid exception.

Still, it’s far less that which bothers me. It’s that it criticises the story for being what I say in...

Status update: Ready or Not

Well,Love or Lust is holding strong as an Amazon bestseller and hot new release (for category, but hey — itis a bestseller list — says so on the label). Which is lovely. Even climbing charts globally. A ping on the German radar and some love from Down Under hath come my way as well — thank you.

In the meantime I’ve got back to work onReady or Not and am nearly half through it. So far it’s not quite the disaster I was thinking, but I also don’t think I’ve hit the bits I wrote during NaNoWriMo or...

In reading and writing, who owes what to whom, I wonder.

Does the author owe it to the reader, to pander to their preconceived ideas and ideals? Or is it the duty of the reader to put those notions aside at the door and open their mind to the text before them? Perhaps both?

In a perfect world,...

A bestseller in the making.

#14 in “Hot New Releases” – Lesbian, and #29 in Lesbian fiction overall?!

That’s whereLove or Lust is on Amazon’s ranking system as I type this.

According to some, this means that I am a bestseller. I’m still in the 12k-th slot on Amazon, overall, but … wow.

oh, and for my UK friends?

I have expanded my print distribution channels, as a result Love or Lust should be showing up for all booksellers.
