Struggling woman
Struggling woman
Hi Ernest, hope you are doing well. First of all, before you read this I would like you to read it with your wife because it is a sensitive topic. If you can’t read, let your wife read it herself and tell you what you need to know.
I am a lady who has really struggled with sexual purity. Sometimes I felt like life was not worth living because of the struggle. I felt like committing suicide because I didn’t know how I would handle it in the years to come. Although I didn’t sl...

STALKING YOUR EX’S SOCIAL MEDIA
From several talks with young adults who have ended dating relationships, I noticed that most of them (especially women) keep tabs with the ex’s progress by occasionally stalking their social media. When I ask them what’s the motive, the answer is often something that sounds like this, “I don’t want to see them happy because that will make me feel sad.”
The stalker can’t imagine their ex progressing in life, that would crush them. They secretly hope that life is tough for their ex so that the...

The tragedy of being deceived that you are saved
In this Holy Week, before he was crucified, Jesus Christ gave a parable to his disciples.
Matthew 21:28-31 “But what do you think? A man had two sons, and he came to the first and said, ‘Son, go work today in the vineyard.’ And he answered, ‘I will not’; but afterward he regretted it and went. The man came to the second and said the same thing; and he answered, ‘I will, sir’; but he did not go. Which of the two did the will of his father?” They said, “The first.” Jesus said to them, “Truly I...

MAFISI KWA OFISI: A Response to Abuses and Excesses by Purported Ministers of the Gospel
I belong to a group of youth ministers from various parts of the country. Most of them hail from Nairobi. Over the past few months a stir was caused in the group following certain abuses and the excesses by people who claim to be ministers of the Gospel. It all started when two local “gospel” artists invited a girl for an orgy and infected her with an STI. They avoided her calls and only responded to the...

Precious Remedies against Satan’s Devices
Precious Remedies against Satan’s Devices
Thomas Brooks was an 1800 puritan minister who wrote a book titled Precious Remedies Against Satan’s Devices. The book is detailed with the schemes of Satan against the believer. Paul the Apostle cautioned the believer to be aware of Satan’s devices so that he may not have an advantage over the church. 2 Corinthians 2:11 “Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.” (KJV). The equipped believer will understand how...

The freedom of being a nobody
It isn’t wrong to say that we are living in a generation with a tremendous sense of self-importance. If you point this out as a problem, the critics will accuse you of not seeing the need for self-esteem. But even self-esteem has become a euphemism for self-aggrandizement. And self aggrandizement has an ancient code word that we hate to hear unless in the positive- pride. Deadly, infectious, venomous pride. Timothy Keller once said that we are so profoundly self-centered that we don’t think w...

The untapped power of fasting
You need to fast as a follower of Jesus Christ. Not Seasonally, but rather frequently. I got convicted last year to start fasting once a week, every week. This conviction came from a number of sources.
The first conviction came from my friend, JohnKigada. John shared with me how he fasts every Monday. He shared how it rejuvenateshim spiritually. He encouraged me to fast, especially since I am involved in alot of ministry work.
The second conviction was a portion of scripture fromthe teachings...
