Where there's music, ramblings and a giveaway.

Hot!!
What is up with the weather, seriously? Two days ago I was wrapping myself in blankets and today it's so sweltering hot I feel like stripping out of my skin ugh. As much as I love summer and DNW winter to come along (for more than a week. One week of winter is plenty. Maybe two, so I can strap my snowboard to my feet a couple of times but seriously SIX MONTHS IS TOO MUCH, OKAY?) I am also no fan of 200% humidity UGH. Yes I know, have some cheese with that whine.

Writing!
I just passed...

Giveaway winner, things that have been happening, things that are about to happen.

First and foremost! The winner of Anna Lee's THE ULTIMATE FIND is loveless3173 ! Congratulations! If you PM me your email address, I will make sure the story finds its way to your inbox.

I am currently sitting in a local park, surrounded by squirrels and ducks (and a shirtless dude doing Capoeira right in front of me, but who would pay attention to that...) and it's so nice. I forgot how much a change of scenery can help turn up my writerly gears. I've written 2k of my paranormal...

Am I awake?

Dreamspinner Press just offered me a contract for The House on Hancock Hill. Excuse me while I go and lie on the floor for a bit.

AL_The_Ultimate_Findx

Welcome to my humble blog, Anna, and thank you for taking the time to talk to me. How are you?

I’m good, thanks! Busy and tired, but that’s normal for me. And I’m really happy to be here.

I just read The Ultimate Find and really enjoyed it. Can you tell us a little about the story?

Thank you! I’m...

Guest spots

Tomorrow the lovely Anna Lee is joining me to talk about her new ebook THE ULTIMATE FIND and she'll be sharing some tips as an editor for us hopefuls. On top of that, she'll be giving away a copy of her new book, so stop by!

I have to admit, I had A LOT of fun coming up with questions for her and I can't wait for the answers, and I was thinking to myself: I should do this more often. So, if you are an author (of any genre, although I imagine m/m readers will be more likely to find...

my heart is a church bell ringing

For anyone who missed it on Twitter, I LOVE THE NEW EDITORS ALBUM, OKAY? It's going to be the anthem of the *mumblemumble* I'm working on right now. I'm being tightlipped because every single project I started and talked about recently has died a sad death. Hopefully some of them can be revived but I'm just not feeling it right now. This one however! My lips are sealed.

Brother visiting from Belgium which was AWESOME. I showed him Detroit, I showed him the beac...

So I wrote a thingie

It's release day, oh yeah! Chasing Ghosts is here. (FINALLY, I hear you say. So she'll at least stop squealing about it!)

I'm talking about the short story at Romance for the rest of us, if anyone would like to pop by. There's cocktails and party hats, and later on there will be an extra little epilogue to the story for those who might be interested. I also answered some interview questions which will tell you... absolutely nothing useful.

You can find the story here at Torquere...

One week to go!

This morning I found a squirrel sunbathing in my rocking chair on the patio. Of course by the time I had located my camera, the dog had caught on and chased the little fellow away. For a hunting breed he's remarkably dumb when it comes to locating animals... unless I want to take a picture of them, of course. I remember a couple of years ago on a hike, we stumbled upon a coyote dining on a woodchuck, and my brave dog hid behind me. It's a good thing I know he has my back. Anyway!

In ex...

Hooked!

Nine days until Chasing Ghosts comes out! I still can’t believe something is actually going to be published. Words, written by me, it’s so surreal. And in the meantime, the short story Hooked, which started all this off, (the story I was going to self-publish and then decided to try and submit instead, if you remember) has been accepted by MLR Press! I think they’re aiming for a fall publishing date, so that is really great. This one’s more of a novella than a short st...

Chasing Ghosts

We have a release date for Chasing Ghosts! I'm so excited. Torquere Press will be publishing it around the twelfth of June and I'm swinging like a pendulum from elated to petrified. I'm told this is normal. Here's to hoping people like it!

As of five minutes ago my novel is now done completely. Manuscript, synopsis, summary, blurbs of all lengths imaginable... This chapter is closed. There will be no returning to it until I've heard back from the agent I've sent it to....
