It’s Shirley Jump!

Welcome back to Tuesday Traditions at Indiana Wonderer. And I have to tell you, I’ve been waiting all year for this post. All year! And it’s only fitting that I have the talented and ever-inspirational NYTBSA Shirley Jump here today, one week before my debut novel’s release.

You see, Shirley was the first author to help steer me in the right direction when I began my writing journey. But not only is she a wealth of knowledge, Shirley is also one of the most selfless, intelligent women I know....

Meet M.L. Rigdon

Okay, everyone–I know you’ve been suffering through a torturous bout of withdrawal as I haven’t had a guest writer on Tuesday Traditions in a few weeks. But have no fear, I’m here to save you. Joining us today is a wonderful and talented multi-genre writer, who is also a tremendous advocate for our local writers. It’s M.L. Rigdon, and I couldn’t be happier to have her on Indiana Wonderer today.

So please join me in giving M.L. a hearty welcome!Master_Of_The_Dark_Cover

Wanted: Debut Celebration Suggestions

Ok, I admit it — I’ve been a bit distracted lately. No Tuesday Traditions with guest writers (although I hope to have one next week), sporadic postings about random thoughts…but can you blame me? I have a book coming out in two and a half weeks. And not just any book – my DEBUT novel.

Every time I check the calendar and see that I’m a day closer to Armed With Steele‘s release day (AUGUST 5TH–you have that marked on every calendar in sight at your house too, right??) I want to start dancing. Th...

Let the Words Fall Out…

I was plugging away at my WIP (work in progress) the other night and got broadsided by the realization that my poor heroine was getting harped on for having a particular character trait that was none other than … my own?!

Yikes. And it wasn’t the kind of trait you really want to have.

See, she was getting called out for trying too hard to make everyone else happy. And while my co-workers likely wouldn’t agree I do that, those closest to me probably will. I’m the kind of person who doesn’t mind...

Contrary to Popular Belief…

While on the treadmill today, I listened to a podcast I’d missed on vacation. Not my usual MO, but it was a nice change to get lost in dialog instead of my usual collection of jogging songs. Because usually when I’m past the halfway point of my run and the end of a song approaches, that’s about the time a whiny little voice in my head starts begging me to walk for “just a minute”. And there’s no way I’ll meet the goal of running my first 5K this year if I keep caving to that darned voice!
