If I soak you in the shower

Stared at my hands
in the last bits
of daylight,
Sunday morning
dissolved into
evening without
bothering with
afternoon.

These held you,
cradled breast and
covered skin,
traced letters I wondered
if you were reading
on the bare of your
back.

I wrote a wish
unfulfilled but
hopeful,
that one day
you’d find what
I found, and finally
see, what I have
always seen.
