Love it!

Ooh! So there is some sort of action/crisis going on and it’s in the banking hall. Excellent!

Is it Moriarty? Mary? One in the same? Or a new/unrelated side case? Interesting that we have military instead of cops.

More men in a military outfit!

https://twitter.com/liecaroli/status/717421773759856641

Episode one. Lots of military men.

Hypotheses?

1. “Moriarty” related crisis situation– some kind of new bomb plot? Hostage situation? Could it tie back to the bank gang? It’s not just cops but military, so it must be pretty seriously hairy, whatever the situation is. Seems like if it were this, we’d get some outdoor shots too, like a SWAT type situation.

2. A military personnel location, non-crisis related, like Baskerville or the palace guard barracks. Unless we get some outdoor scenes, it’s more likely this. What would they be filming in this building that would have military men hanging around? I saw the pics others have posted of Portland’s House vaults and big hall, but none of those seem particularly likely to have military guards.

Just brainstorming!

I am initially leaning towards the vaults as a military area and they have someone, a prisoner of importance. I am also wondering if they are mercenaries versus regular soldiers as their appearance isn't ‘'quite right’.

I’m with you on the they don’t look “quite right”. If we have subtle stereotypical costuming this might also imply they are (with) the “baddies”.

The could set up literally everything in this Banking Hall.

So we have SAs in business suits and SAs in military uniform, but no one from the main cast was seen until now. Why? Were they not in the scene? Were they not meant to be seen? Why? AA sounded as if she was about to film today. Are the soldiers Mary’s team?

I just saw one pic of Mark Gatiss outside and that’s the first I’ve seen of him, but he was likely there all day. Maybe they’ve found a way to sneak in the main cast so no one’s got a picture.

They could be Mary’s team or other baddies. Seems to be a lot of them.

Time for some detective work

So we have muddy shoes and maybe a location. Time to deduce, and I’m lucky enough to have stayed at St. David’s Hotel and Spa, and I just happen to know that they have Cardiff Bay Wetlands Reserve right next to that hotel.

Possible location of grey mud??? Now let’s try to find where she was sitting with those muddy shoes on.

That is the

Cader Idris statue, and it looks like the same stonework. So let’s look at it on a map.

So it might be possible that they are filming in wetlands, if my clues add up. Now it feels like Christmas and I’m going to jump up and down a bit!

I must reblog this again because it does things to my insides. Stark yet nuanced and clever.

Very interesting. Either it was the read through or they filmed a scene today. Sounds like a big Mary scene – villain? :-) I hope she’s chewing-the-scenery evil.

IT JUST KEEPS GOING IM HYSTERICAL

he literally goes from like waiting for the candid camera crew to appear to horror that it could be real

Martin Freeman is the master of reaction LOOK AT HIM

This is some of the best evidence for TLJC. What this is not:

* a bro chuffed for another bro for getting laid

* a guy who didn’t think his platonic mate was into girls seeing evidence to the contrary (some surprise might be there, but not this level)

* a guy who’s happily married seeing an old crush he no longer has feelings for hook up with someone else

He’s not just surprised that Sherlock has a girl or isn’t gay. He’s stunned and upset and jealous as hell. Someone has taken my place. and OMG, he actually is a sexual being, but not with me.
