Well, I paid for it!

and cheap it wasn’t.

So I’ve gone back to it because I found that after 2,749 years (approx.) it had finally forgotten all the hideous stuffups I’d done to its CSS.

Well you may ask how this happened, when some of you are aware that I am the willing Forum slave of a truly wonderful bloke, whose unending kind help has got me through something like six different themes. (He must want to kill me every time he sees me move on … but he probably figures I’ll come back to [insert whichever theme M.R....

It’s all Greek to me

Sighh … I knew it would happen one day …

All I can tell you is that the motto of this follower’s site is something like

“Those who hang out with wolves learn only to scream; but those who hang out with eagles learn to fly.”

Does that help? If not, tant pis pour vous: I know nozzink more.

What am I on about, for heaven’s sake?

Thought I’d give your mighty brains something to chew on. Hang on – brains don’t chew! Brains … get cudgelled!

So cudgel away, team, and tell me the result.:-D

Addendum!: Good...

Weekly Writing Challenge: Threes

http://dailypost.wordpress.com/2014/03/03/writing-challenge-threes/

Write about a memory inspired by either three of your own photographs

1
2

Chic (my husband) : cat (ours) : camera (his, but not a professional one)

There’s an acronymic kind of threesome for you! These photos, while all being of my husband who’s no longer with me, are also of the same one of our cats. His name was Doctor McCoy (no, sorry; you’re going to have to work out for yourselves the names of his two brothers …), and he was lo...

LIOLI #2

Here we are with the second LIOLI challenge, mounted behind a far less strident version of the icon. I was seized with the whole STAY CALM thing, a month ago; and didn’t stop to think how clashing it might be. Hope this icon’s more acceptable. It would be really nice if you included it – even if just within your lioli post: it has a link back to here behind it.:-}

Methodology: for new bugs.

This is a fortnightly ‘competition’ without a prize; but I shall compose you a personal poem in acknowled...

I failed you LIOLI entrants

:-(

I handled that first LIOLI really badly, and I apologise to Jackie, Janet, Irene, Megz, Deirdre and Steve.

Please don’t go off in a huff, you six heros, when I say that I’m not going to award a winner, this time. All six of you are winners in my eyes; because you have patiently dealt with my less than professional marketing of this project since I launched it a month back. (That was a bad decision, too …)

In fact, of course, I didn’t market it at all; and as I’m not Cee or Ese(or any of the...

Do I love or loathe flying?

Yes.

I like driving; like seeing the country change, working my way towards each evening’s new destination, seeing new things (and on our annual pilgrimage to Wyoming, beloved, familiar things.) I love being able to stop for look, a meal, a walk, a bathroom break; being able to listen to “Lord of the Rings” for the 30thtime or to Bill’s favorite...

Noisy Pilgrims

This is a photographic site, and I know there are many – several of which I follow, with much pleasure!

Today’s imagefrom Noisy Pilgrims is positively mind-blowing, in my extremely humble opinion – and you can all shut up![grin]

Of course, if birds don’t move you, you won’t agree. Go there and see …

Oh, and btw: if you’re asking yourself why I didn’t simply reblog it, it’s because reblogging has become sumpn awful for me: I get two versions of any image, and it looks all over the place. I exchan...

Here’s what you might have called a surprising confession, were it not that I published a post the other day on the same topic; and the fact that I trashed it within 2 seconds made no difference – everyone got the email and could peruse it. I’d hit ‘publish’ instead of ‘preview’ and it wasn’t ready; and I haven’t yet worked out how to unpublish without trashing. Any input there welcome, btw.

I suspect it may come as a disappointment to some to learn that I crochet (and I knit, too!): doesn’t s...

Weekly Photo Challenge: Abandoned

I find this utterly abandoned castle particularly appealing in the context of the new life growing around it – see all those budding pinecones?

It’s somewhere on the route between Annecy and Geneva: I’ve tried my best to ascertain where it is, and what it is, and failed miserably.

That maketh me mad. If perchance anyone can identify it for me, s/he will win a very large prize.

I can say that with confidence, as I’m perfectly sure no-one will be able to …[grin]
