The world needs more positive pictures during the #COVID19 lockdown, not less #WordlessWednesday

I read recently that certain Indian celebrities were trolled and even made to apologize for posting pictures of themselves enjoying with their children / leading a life of privilege while millions were suffering during this horrible COVID19 lockdown. Talking to friends about it, I realized that even they had stopped posting happy pictures of food and their family life because they were hurt by comments pointing out how others were suffering right now.

I disagree with that line of thought.

Kindness in the time of #COVID19

Across the world, the corona virus has spread its tentacles, shutting down countries, killing lakhs of innocent people and leaving millions more severely affected. During these hard times, it is worth it to take a step back from all the pain and sorrow and admire the kindness that has also come to the fore. To remind ourselves that, irrespective of our creed or religion, there are people doing selfless good deeds all over the world right now.

Unexpected gestures of Kindness

When parents of kids at Lakewood Elementary School in Dallas found out that the beloved crossing guard (the man assigned to keep their children safe as they walk to and from school) was struggling financially after his wife got sick and his car was repossessed, they decided to do more.
Guard Nathaniel Kendrick was annoyed to see some dads park a car right in the middle of the street in front of the school and asked them to move it. The dads refused, however.
"It's your car. So you get it out of...

Service Exchanges Messages of Kindness Between Strangers #WATWB

Though we have more potential to be connected to people across the world than ever before thanks to technology, the sad truth is that the exact opposite has occurred with people finding themselves more isolated and lonely, distancing themselves emotionally from the real world long before COVID arrived.
A simple message may hold the key to making a difference.

Politician pays off medical bills of man who racially targeted him

Online hatred and bigotry continues to rise every day, spreading more virulently than the novel coronavirus while sadly having no possibility of a cure till date. And while there may not be a vaccine for the wholesale bigotry one witnesses, a little kindness can go a long way as a local politician showed.
