The Curiously Stunted, Incomprehensibly Disjointed, Perfectly Inadequate Adventures of Nicholas Cornelius Holloway – Episode 6

Tom Foolery strapped on his nuclear backpack and stepped out into the morning sun. It was going to be a good day. He could feel it.

The Curiously Stunted, Incomprehensibly Disjointed, Perfectly Inadequate Adventures of Nicholas Cornelius Holloway – Episode 5

“Eight is too many,” she said.

The shopkeeper raised an eyebrow.

She sighed, “But seven isn’t enough.” She groaned and pushed her face into her hands.

The shopkeeper folded his arms and inspected her over his eyeglasses. “Miss,” he said, “you understand these incinitaur pups will be as big as houses in just a few weeks?”

She glanced up at him. Her hands trembled. “Oh, yes. Yes, of course. I’m counting on it.”

The Curiously Stunted, Incomprehensibly Disjointed, Perfectly Inadequate Adventures of Nicholas Cornelius Holloway – Episode 4

The tasselled wobbegong puffed up his cheeks and chuckled, “It’s the obligate ram ventilator. He’s got to keep moving you see? Me? I can do this all day.”

He compressed his cheeks, lazily waggled his barbels, and remained precisely where he was. I had never seen a creature so proud of himself for having gone nowhere.

It was the first day of what would turn out to be a rather remarkable summer.

Suffering and Hope, Wrapped in a Fairy Tale, Embedded in a Novel

I intuited that I could either let this experience harden or soften my heart. I made a choice of the will to soften. And then things went from bad to worse. That’s an excerpt from a guest post published yesterday on Sarah Chorn’s Bookworm Blues. She’s running her second annual Special Needs in Strange Worlds [...]

How a Cleric, Two Poets, and a Prisoner Saved King Arthur

“At the battle of Camlann, Arthur and Medraut fell.” Geoffrey of Monmouth, Cleric – 1130 A.D. Written references to Arthur, including the quote above from the Annales Cambriae (c. 950 A.D.), predate Geoffrey of Monmouth, but Geoffrey’s History of the Kings of Britain secured Arthur’s place in history. Arthur – and the idea of Arthur [...]

Sometimes It Writes Itself

Someday someone will ask me, “Liam, how do you come up with this stuff?” And I will reply, “I don’t know, but check out these goofy pictures of knights I found on the Internet.” Sir Diagur the Disarranged could be counted on to always misplace at least one piece of his gear: It was said [...]

LiamPerrin.com is the most boring blog ever.

After several weeks of studying about blogging, promoting, writing blogs, marketing, and being a blogger I think I have managed to produce a rather professional looking container for what is possibly the most boring blog ever. I’m yawning as I write this. “But Liam,” you ask, yawning, then discover you’re too bored to finish your [...]

Her Eyes Lit Up

I love to explore the dissonance between how we perceive ourselves and how others perceive us. Dove has produced a video doing just that from a purely physical standpoint. In the video, women describe themselves and then are described by another to a forensic artist. The experience is powerful. A factoid provided by Dove claims [...]
