Writing
Currently I'm working on a short called Stormwatch. It has jumped the line ahead of the novel for the moment.
Far future science fiction that I hope finds the right mix of entertainment and science.

Pounding the Keyboard
Still working away on Aza'kor. The novel has gained life and continues to grow. Occasionally I have to force it back in its cage to keep it from rampaging around the neighborhood.
Also have a couple of short stories that keep demanding attention. Science Fiction and even one horror.

Screenplays vs prose
Some have asked me about the transition from screenwriting to prose.
I spent most of the last decade focusing on my screenwriting to some mild success. Over the last two years I switched to prose for various reasons.
With a screenplay there are no he said she said. No long exposition or scene descriptions. It makes for faster and easier writing to some extent. The writer relies on the director and actors to put their touch on the story. The writer supplies the outline for the most part with plot and dialogue, and then the creative team molds it into something that may or may not resemble the original work.
With prose, it is a one person show. (With some help from the editors.) It allows me to explore (improve) my wordsmithing. My characters aren't always changing the dialogue on me. It allows me to more fully explore my voice, and feed that monster inside me that must tell stories.
An unfamous author can make more money in screenwriting than they ever could with prose, but the satisfaction and fulfillment of a finished work far surpases that of a screenplay.
Two years and counting focusing on my prose. I'm studying those masters that have gone before me to learn from their art.
My novel that will be published in 2013, I hope will exhibit my continued comfort with prose.

Amazing Stories
A few have asked me about my articles for Amazing Stories Magazine.
I write a weekly column for Amazing Stories Magazine. I alternate between my Tech Geek column and the Game Room.
My column appears on the website every Wednesday morning.
www.amazingstoriesmag.com
Amazing Stories is the world's first science fiction magazine. It was first published in 1926. Some of the greatest authors in the genre have graced its pages. Without Amazing Stories leading the way, science fiction and fantasy might not have reached the level of popularity it has today.
The publishing industry is shifting. Standard print magazines are finding their readership dwindle. As a science fiction community, we should be looking towards the future and how this industry will adapt.
The reborn Amazing Stories is forging a path into the future for the publishing industry. They are hoping to give short fiction a new place so that it does not become the lost art that it is moving towards.
Amazing Stories will ALWAYS be free to read.
Hope you enjoy some of the great articles on the site.

Friends
Travel advisory. I have a friend button and will use it. I'm not one to closely guard my friends list like some exclusive club.
We could all use more friends.
If I haven't gotten around to requesting your friendship, don't be shy. Feel free to send me one.
