Well, week one of the new schedule is finished!
I really do like this new schedule. It had been super easy to keep up with what I need to post and when. I hope you guys are enjoying it to. Aside from the minor hiccup Friday morning with the domain, everything is working out well. If you have anything in particular you’d like to see, please don’t hesitate to let me know!

Book Review Thursday
I am trying to stay as immersed in books as I can while still leaving room for writing. While I haven’t finished a book yet, I will let you know where I am in what I’m reading!
Pretty When She Dies by Rhiannon Frater:
This book is a bit rough so far. I like the premise, but I just can’t get into a vampire crying tears of blood. It’s on the border of trying too hard, but I want to finish it. I have heard so many good things about Rhiannon Frater, and a lot of my friends are into her work, so I wanted to give her a fair try.
Etiquette for an Apocalypse by Anne Mendel
I really enjoy post apocalyptic novels and this one is really different than the zombie filled novels I normally pick up. It’s a bit more realistic as far as what could happen to end the world. I’m not very far into it, and I am debating actually posting a review on here, but I wanted to fill you guys in!
Sorry that there isn’t anything new to report, but this is the day for book reviews, so I wanted to give you what I could! Thank you so much for stopping by!

I want to start off by saying NEVER NEVER NEVER publish work you’ve self edited. You need at least one more set of eyes reading your work to see what you missed. However, I do suggesting self editing before you send your book to your editor. If there is something you want to change or fix, it’s good to look over it.

Well, it’s my turn to take part in this amazing blog tour! So many talented authors are taking part in the My Writing Process Blog Tour and it’s such an honor to be a part of it. I was nominated by the amazing Dawn Chapman over at Kananudra’s Blog. I have been following her blog for quiet a while now, and I suggest you guys hop over there and take a look
What I am currently working on?
I am currently working on a few projects right now. The top priority is anything to do with my series The Night Touched Chronicles. I have the sequel to Celine, entitled Jeremy, as well as a collection of short stories regarding the main characters of the books. I also am working on a post-apocalyptic zombie novel that is currently untitled, along with a novel involving 3 sisters who find out they’re witches. How does my work differ from others of it’s genre?
A lot of novels in my genre are about insanely beautiful high school kids who fall instantly in love with each other and vow to be together forever. My characters are adults (early to mid 20′s) and have things going for them in their lives. Now, I will admit that I have had one of my main couples have an instant attraction to each other, but that doesn’t mean that immortality implies together forever. I have an issue with cliched work, and I try to make my characters stand apart from the crowd in that regard.
Why do I write what I do?
I discovered Buffy the Vampire Slayer at a young age and I have been obsessed with it ever since. I loved Joss Whedon’s characters and how the vampires still seemed so human. The show was thought provoking and comical. The dialogue was never stiff and the character were all around awesome (even the bad ones.) I became obsessed with writing my own vampire story after that. Whedon’s vampires were so different than anything I had seen before, or since, and I just remember thinking ‘I want to do that.’
I write what I do to bring a different view point. I know that I have come into an already well developed genre, but I think that my work stands out because my vampires are so different than those in the main stream. They don’t sparkle, they aren’t vegetarian. While they drink from blood bags when they have to, they prefer fresh humans with no concern about hiding the bodies.
How does my writing process work?
In random bursts, to be honest. My writing process has been full of self doubt and me dragging my feet. I am concerned that my sequel won’t be as good as the first so I procrastinate a lot. When I am feeling confident, I sit down, work through it, and I make sure that it flows and doesn’t sound silly. It helps to have people in my life who encourage me, of course.

Her first passion has always been writing and poetry, which she has done since a young age. She is also incredibly artistic and divides her time between writing, teaching and her artwork. She enjoyws travelling when she can and has a profound love of landscapes, particularly those of New Zealand and Dartmoor. She also enjoys stargazing, playing chess, watching films (especially sci-fi & fantasy) and buying yet more bookcases for her growing library! Joleene Naylor- Joleene Naylor grew up in southwest Iowa surrounded by soybeans, corn and very little entertainment – so she made her own. She has been writing and drawing since she was a small child, with a particular leaning towards fantasy, horror and paranormal. It is this love of all that goes bump in the night that lead her to write the paranormal fantasy series Amaranthine. Besides writing, she also creates amazing book covers, maintains a large selection of free stock photos, and illustrates a weekly web comic. In what free time she has, Joleene blogs, updates her website and hopes to win the lottery. Until she does, she and her husband live in Missouri with their dog, cats and turtles. However, until she actually starts buying tickets, she may never actually win anything.

More changes!
Some of you may have noticed the new schedule set up in the banner! You may also have noticed that there is no set schedule for Saturdays and Sundays. Well, let me explain why!
I feel that by setting myself up with a schedule I will be more inclined to follow it, and not overwhelm you guys with posts. Now, barring book releases and blog tours that require specific days that are outside of the schedule, I will be following it pretty closely. Another example would be when I don’t have a book to review, I will just post an update or potentially run a flash sale or something.
As far as Saturdays and Sundays, I have left those open in case I have some random thoughts, or if I decide to have any guest posts, or something like that. If you have something that you would like to see on these days, please don’t hesitate to leave a comment!
I really want to keep up with this schedule, and I am going to try as hard as I can.
