Miss the CORA RILEY book launch party? No worries – we recorded the important parts.

SUCH PARTY. SO WOW.

Last night’s book launch party for Cora Riley was amazing, y’all. About 20 people came in person, and we think about the same number watched online. Many questions were asked and answered, many giggles and hugs were had, and many books were sold. A smashing success by any measure!

If you missed it, though, we made sure to record the livestream so you can catch up. Sound and video quality are not great, mostly due to having half-assed the way we recorded this – I promise to d...

Deconstruction: Lessons learned from paying for book promotion

Porsche Deconstruction by denton83 via Deviant Art

You might not have known this, butThe Transmigration ofCora Riley came outsix months after I wanted to publish it. On the suggestion of a hybrid author (who does both traditional and self-pub) whom I respect, I put off the launch to arrange professional marketing and promotion. I resisted like crazy, but after running the crowdfunding campaign, I was already in Serious Business territory and took my friend’s advice.

What I’d like to do is talk about what I did and how it went, along with the l...

The Publication Day of CORA RILEY

The Transmigration of Cora Riley: A Forgotten Relics Novel by Ellie Di Julio

FINALLY! ELLIE DI HAS COME BACK! TO YOUR BOOKSHELF!

It’s nearly one year to the day since I started writing this book on a cold visit to Cleveland with my husband. It was interrupted by reconstructive hip surgery and delayed (and supported) by a wicked crowdfunding campaign. And now, through dangers untold and hardships unnumbered, possums, The Transmigration of Cora Riley is out in the world, ready to leap into your hot little hands.

Here’s, the scoop, in case you’ve forgotten what it’s all ab...

The totally made up science of belief in “Cora Riley”

At the risk of getting too theoretical, I figured it’d be fun to talk about the world design of theForgotten Relicsseries. I’m currently in the midst of drafting the secondbook while anxiously awaiting the release of the first (next Tuesday!). It’s given me lots of wibbly feels and questions about how Cora’s universe functions.

One of those questions, I haven’t been asked by anyone – not beta readers, not reviewers, not interviewers – but it seems glaringly important, so I’m going to pretend s...

I’m being interviewed about introversion!

Just a wee note to let you know I’ve got an interview up today atConscious Introvert Successas part of Tanja’s “Awesome Introverts Among Us” series, talking about how being introverted impacts my life, both personal and professional.

Here’s a taste:

Let’s start by acknowledging that being an introvert means different things for different people. What does it mean to you? How does introversion show up in your day to day life?

Introversion, for me, is how much input I can take in the form of other...
