I introduce Eevie around. She shakes hands like she means it, holds her own in conversation, and gets the occasional laugh out of guys I didn’t think had a sense of humour. She must’ve been taking note of some of the ins and outs of motocross, having the balls to ask some interesting questions.

Take note, people: funny, intelligent woman with the guts and looks to match. That confidence is heartbreak material. They’re practically drooling over her. It’s almost pathetic. If they thought they had half a chance, they’d be down on their knees in a millisecond begging for a shot.

Boys, it ain’t gonna happen. Every delectable inch of her is mine, including her heart.

Talking with some of the support crew, Jones edges his way into the conversation, standing a little close to Eevie for my liking. He puffs out his chest, and hooks his thumbs through the front loops of his jeans. Blonde hair and a baby face, he’s a pretty boy. A mummy’s boy. From the way he carries on, he probably got everything he ever wanted as a kid, and had all the latest gear. Mum could barely afford to buy my jerseys, and when she did, I wore them until I outgrew them. I had no choice but to make them last. Last round Jones threw a tantrum like a three year old over something stupid. He got what he wanted, though. Disgusting. Not that I give a shit where he’s come from; at least I know I don’t carry on like a fucking twit.

My eyes are on Jones, and he knows it. Damn it, if he doesn’t like pushing my buttons, and having Eevie here he’s gonna do anything he can to push. If he weren’t on my team I’d barely give him the time of day. He’d be half an alright bloke if he wasn’t so self-absorbed.

He acts like he’s engrossed in what Eevie’s talking about, but his eyes travel down her chest, and even lower, as if he’s trying to rip her clothes off purely with the power of his mind. It heats my blood more than it should.

“When you’re ready for a real man, Eevie, come knockin’ on my door,” Jones says. His eyes dart in my direction before resting back on Eevie’s tits. Fucking douchebag.

Eevie frowns, and purses her glossy lips. “Sorry, I don’t understand. If I’m ready for a real man, why would I knock on your door? Wouldn’t I just go home?” She bats those long lashes. That’s my girl.

Everybody erupts into a fit of laughter, me louder than most. Jones shakes his head, and playfully punches me in the arm. “You’re killin’ me, Aidan. You win today, and I hate you for it, and now your woman’s gonna break my heart,” he says, faking a southern American accent. He clutches his chest as if wounded, and winks at Eevie.

I take a long swig of my beer. “Life’s a bitch, Jones.” Now fuck off.

It was just two simple words. Julian had heard them before from lots of different women. But there was something different about this time. He couldn’t quite put his finger on it. ‘…revealing,’ Eva interrupted, taking the dress from him.

‘I was going to say flattering. Just try it on, please?’

Eva nodded and skipped back to the changing room.

This time she emerged silent and obviously nervous.

Julian exhaled sharply. His cock bulged in his trousers. ‘Fuck. You look amazing.’

Eva lowered her head and fixed a strand of stray hair back behind her ear with shaking fingers. Julian knew she had no idea how stunning she was. He was going to change that.

‘I can’t reach…’ Eva spun around to show Julian the open zip that exposed her whole spine.

Julian sighed hard. It took all his self-control not to rip the dress from her body and fuck her there on the shop floor.

Deciding to write books was something I had contemplated for a while. A co-worker of mine had gotten me started me on the 50 Shades Trilogy. I had quickly became absorbed! Reading contemporary romance had become a part of me.

Little did I know that my daughter was a product of the "50 Shades Baby Boom"! I remember going to my doctor's appointment to find out that we were off to labor and delivery- and I didn't download any new books to my kindle! Talk about bummed out! However, I made up for that when I was home for my maternity leave. I believe we read 40+ books while I was home.

I am a full time new mom, and wife. Yes, I do work full time, I am currently doing multiple things, bouncing back after baby, weight watchers, exercising, training for a 5k, reading and writing. So far, I have really enjoyed writing as a hobby.

My work book club, "HE" had consumed us (and by us, I mean 2). We were critics of the stories and characters. I then thought to myself, "hmm, I bet I could write stories just like this, and have them turn out like I'd want them to." Well, joking turned into thinking. Thinking turned into brainstorming. Brainstorming lead to opening a word document and letting my mind explore.

Growing up I had written short stories with friends, and as extra credit for school. This is probably where it all started... I had turned in one of my short stories without re-reading, or editing it completely. I had my paper returned to me saying the "content was inappropriate." Apparently contemporary romance was frowned upon in English class! Oops! So maybe I was destined to become a writer.

I thought to myself that I want to live in this world and make a difference and have a part of me in history after I leave. This is me staying forever young.

Here I will post my journey, it's a learning experience for me, so please bear with me.

Review: Bang (The Black Lotus Series #1) by E.K. Blair

He thinks, in this moment, that we’re making love. He fills me slowly as I lie beneath him. Arms laced around his neck. Legs spread open wide, inviting him in deeper as he makes a meal out of my tits. He believes everything I want him to. He always has. But this is merely a game for me. A game he foolishly has fallen into. E.K. Blair has an uncanny ability to write damaged characters that you can’t help but fall in love with.  Bang is decidedly different from the Fading series, but in my view, it is just as fabulous.  My focus in writing this review is no spoilers, so it may be a bit cryptic, but not knowing any of the detail of the story really is crucial to getting the full impact as you read.
Laced with suspense and revenge there are many unexpected twists in Bang .  Elizabeth, the primary character is a very damaged woman, hell bent on seeking revenge and retribution for the violent years spent in the foster care system.  Pike, her foster brother and resolute ally is the only thing that keeps her stable, and the two have a grand plan in place to deliver the vengeance they believe they are owed.
Despite being damaged there is much to love about Elizabeth.  Her life experience has been horrific and the path she has chosen is understandable.  Her story is revealed in a gradual way and it is not until quite well into the story that you understand a number of the connections/relationships.  The intrigue around what is happening keeps you glued to the page and wondering just how all the pieces of the puzzle fit together.  Ultimately though, what I saw in Elizabeth was a woman simply wanting to find peace, love and happiness – and really, who doesn’t want that?
The pace of the story builds as it progresses, ending in … well, a BANG!  Technically, I guess it is a cliffhanger finish, but having got there I don’t feel cheated or like I need the next instalment now.  The intensity of the finish is perfect for the story.  Do I have questions I still want answered?  Yes, definitely.  Will I mark my calendar for the next instalment in this series?  Absolutely!
If you like a story that leans to the dark side (and let me be clear there are some graphic, violent and distressing scenes in this story) then Bang is a book you should pick up.  I was riveted the entire time I was reading, found myself totally engaged with the characters –sharing their emotions as the scenes played out before me and fervently hoping that everything would fall in Elizabeth’s favour.

~ Trina ~ “A sexy woman, eh?” I close my eyes as that deep, male voice that has been playing in my mind for the last four days calls out to me from the doorway.

I pivot on my heel to see Lucca leaning against my door frame with a smirk spread across his face. “I don’t buy that, Miss Foster. Everybody wants to feel wanted.” His eyes follow me around the room, the heat from his stare causing my entire body to flame. 

Standing upright, I turn to face him as his words slice to my core. “I know what it’s like to feel wanted, Mr. Ellis, and believe me, that’s not what I want. Feeling wanted and being loved are two completely different things.” I stop before I say anything else to reveal information that I don’t want anyone else to know, especially the guy that enlivens things inside of me I didn’t even know existed. “My students will be back from lunch soon, so please excuse me as I set up.”

“You’ll never know what being loved feels like if you don’t allow anyone to get close to you, Miss Foster.” Running his fingers through his messy hair, he walks out of the room. “I’ll see you around.” His voice is calm and collected, and the words he speaks are true.
