Friday Fandom
It is a huge honor to be an author for a series as big as For Dummies. One that I cannot possibly even begin to fathom. The promotional work for it is hard though because so much of it involves promoting ME, as an author, as an expert, as an authority and as a person worth listening to.

Fear of the Unknown
The unknown is overwhelming me today. More specifically, fear of the unknown is overwhelming me. It has been all weekend.
Today is Monday April 22nd, 2013 and I’m told that this coming Friday, April 26th, 2013, is the day my new book, Web Hosting For Dummies, is due to arrive in the publisher’s warehouse from the printer.
That means that as early as next Monday, my first non-fiction book, my first professionally published book of any kind will start shipping to distributors and retailers…. and...

Don’t Pre-Order My Book!
My book, Web Hosting For Dummies is due to be released on May 13th, 2013. That’s less than four weeks away so I’m really starting to ramp-up the marketing now, but I’d love it if you could wait to order it for just a little while – and I’ll tell you why:
Id like you to NOT pre-order the book but to buy it some time in the week of May 13, 2013 – May 17, 2013.
This may sound counterproductive and might land me in hot water with the marketing team over at Wiley, but there’s a good reason for this...
