We Gather Together

Thanksgiving is coming–that day when we all get together and stuff ourselves like turkeys, watch football, and play cards or board games with friends and family. But the holiday is much more. Yes, I love the food, the fun, the family. But I also love taking a focused time to set aside and be thankful for everything I have and take for granted: food, clothing, shelter, family, friends, good health.

candy cornWhen I was growing up, my Grandma used to set three pieces of candy corn at everyone’s place on the Thanksgiving table. Before we ate, we would go around the table and say three things we were thankful for. It was a time of blessing.

But giving thanks also creates a desire to share. I came across this article from Huffington Post and it reminded me what Thanksgiving is all about: sharing what we have with those in need. I hope we can all take time during this season of thanks to share. I am thankful to all of you for your support and encouragement. Have a blessed season.

As We Dream By The Fire

Fall is in the air so the holidays are just around the corner. Can you believe it? Pumpkin spice lattes and peppermint mochas replace sweet tea and iced coffee the seasonal beverages.

book coverI am overjoyed to be able to announce that I got to take part in a beautiful holiday project: 12 Christmas Romances To Melt Your Heart. 100% of the proceeds from sales of this anthology go to the Autism Society of America and straight into support groups for families touched by autism. I am honored to be a part of this group. My contribution is a novella from my Line of Fire series based in Somewhere, TX.

“I loved this book, from beginning to end, enough action, and love to keep everyone happy. The plot and story line were spot on, all the characters were wonderfully done. Weather you liked or disliked them. I love this lady’s books and love how she writes. She can take a simple plot and make it so much more that you don’t even know you are being sucked into her book.” -Kimi C.

Meet The Men in Cadha’s Rogue

Wait until you meet the men in my new book, Cadha’s Rogue.
Meet Erlan Mason
Erlan Mason
As a boy, kidnapped from his sister’s care, Erlan was sold to the pirate Brecht de Witt by his nefarious cousin. But Brecht was a good man, and saw that Erlan had promise, so he took the lad into his home and raised him as a son and gives him a new name for a new beginning.

New to the country of Holland, Erlan has to rely on his new family to center his identity, but he never stops missing his sister who died… or so he was told.

When he finds his sister alive, married, and happy, Erlan is elated. He stays with her in Scotland, but he misses the girl who was like his sister, the girl he has fallen in love with, the girl who has his heart back in Holland: Cadha.

Meet Valcymer Vanhorn
Valc Vanhorn
When his mother dies with unfinished business, Valcymer Vanhorn takes on the mantle of completing her work. He has a ship and a way to make money by ferrying customers around the narrow seas, but when a strange woman approaches him needing passage to Scotland, Valc hesitates.

The North Sea is dangerous, after the English wars have sent many men into the business of privateering–the early precursor to pirating. Crossing anywhere near England could bring them into the nets of one of these men. Little does he know, this strange woman is the daughter of one of the most famous pirates of them all, and she is determined to get to Scotland as quickly as she can.

Valc stows his parcel and sets sail across the North Sea, keeping a weather eye on the horizon in search of pirates. But he needs a free eye for Cadha, as well, because she has captured his heart before they can even reach open water.

Get to know them better Sept. 29!
