collage monday
the base of this page started with a bunch of scraps i had laying on my table and the fact that i have a cuttlebug that has been collecting dust. i threw those scraps into embossing sleeves and began gluing them down to the page. then layered lots of paint until i found my way here. continuing to use of the overwhelming rub-on stash, i added them to the background and inside the circles.

headed to CHA...

bill and i are packing up today and heading out to L.A. to CHA (craft & hobby association) trade show. i kept my release simple this show and i am really excited about the new stencils. so excited that i have been chomping at the bit these past few weeks trying NOT to use the protypes in an inspiration wednesday! (ok i cheated once, lol)
i will also be teaching a wokshop for Faber Castell, this is a snapshot of the project and new road workshop "Techniques in Color" that i am launching.

my new posies are on the wall...
if you have been following my progress on facebook, these will look familiar. just before the holidays i started working on this series i am calling "posies". my LOVE of color just took over and i found myself creating like mad wanting to see with each piece how i could manipulate the color pairings and sizes.
i am so pleased with the outcome...what an i saying i flippin' overjoyed! we have been repainting and adding subtle improvements to our downstairs and i knew once we painted the livin...

these pages really evolved from layers and layers of colors and textures that werent making me happy. i couldnt even begin to tell you how i got here, but once i walked away and came back it felt a bit "starry night to me...kinda outer spacey. i am really trying to incorporate motivational messages into my work this year so this reads, "your life is your message to the world, make it inspiring". thought that was a good message to start the year off on!

i found kyrstyn's beautiful voice through taking one of flora bowleys online classes. i love to create to her music, its inspirational, and pure. when she reached out to me to help her reach her goal for her new album i was more than happy to help.

a new year for big dreams...
hi everyone, i'm back!

my family and i had an amazing week together in the mountains, i feel rested and quite frankly 7 days without art supplies i am itching with ideas and motivation to create!

taking a little family time...
i am going to take a small break from blogging until after the new year to be with my family and shut off from the "hustle and bustle" of everyday life. we spend this week every year tucked away in a cabin in the mountains (the 5 of us and the 2 dogs) and just enjoy ourselves.
