Funny When It All Lines Up Again

It’s funny when it all lines up again.

We had some friend’s visiting a few years ago. We ate at Snarf’s in Boulder on the way to go hiking in Estes Park and I managed to spill hot au jus all over myself because I didn’t notice that the edge of the table outside had a beveled edge. Since there wasn’t time to go home to change, I bought new clothes at Target, a Rick and Morty t-shirt (it was the day of the first McDonald’s dipping sauce fiasco) and The Avengers boxers, as well as a new pair of jeans. I just noticed today that I was setting out that t-shirt to wear along with that exact same pair of boxers. It’s funny when things line up like that again.

I don’t remember which pair of jeans would complete the set.

UPS Tarnishes Their Image For No Reason

I’ve been having a thing in the last 6 months or so where UPS will put something on a truck to deliver it to me, get behind in their deliveries, and take it back to their warehouse to try again the next day. Sometimes it’s a heavy mail season, sometimes it’s during snow (though often within a week of snow when the snow is no longer a problem), sometimes it’s just nothing. This is aside from when they leave packages inside the gate for my building group nowhere near my door and that no one goes anywhere near despite the fact they have the code to the gates. I get that this is all part of how they have to deliver packages. However, yesterday they just made themselves look bad for no reason.

I had a package they scheduled for delivery tomorrow. Yesterday afternoon, they updated the status to say they were going to deliver it early. Then the thing happened again where they ran out of time and took it back.

Now, they are actually going to deliver it (I hope) on the day they promised. However, since they updated to say they were going to deliver early and then didn’t, they now look like they are unreliable again. Why did they ever tell me? If they hadn’t updated the status to try to look good saying they would deliver early then I never would have expected it and they wouldn’t have looked back.

They shouldn’t have tried to improve their image and promise something they weren’t sure they could deliver.

I Need To Hurry Up With “Ducks, Newburyport”

I need to hurry up with Ducks, Newburyport. I did end up starting it once I got back from traveling and am enjoying it. It’s some of the more approachable stream of consciousness that I’ve seen. Still, it’s taking some time. After 10 days I’m still only on page 680. I need to get moving faster since I’m getting to travel again soon. I really don’t want to have to lug this thing on a plane.

Facebook Is Messing With Me Again

Facebook is messing with me again. After years of getting me used to wishing friend’s birthdays relying on the Facebook indicator about birthdays for the day on my initial Facebook open, they appear to at least temporarily gotten rid of that. Now, after people have come to expect others to remember, they actually have to rely on me to remember.

I don’t remember breakfast.

Sometimes something will pop up in my notices about birthdays for the day, but not often. Also, this oddly is random about which notices it will have a box to actually put wishes in and how many I have to go to their page to do it or do one of those weird graphic posts, even when I’m allowed to post directly to their wall. There just doesn’t seem to be any rhyme or reason to it, though I am at least trying.

People will just have to remember that, that I’m trying. I actually have to remember to go to events>birthdays and then check, which I do not always remember to do. Barring that, I have to hope that it’s a day that Facebook actually decides to randomly add a notice into my notice feed.

I just can’t understand the inconsistent site behavior. I’d worry about it more if I paid actually money for the site, or if the site was actually important. Before anyone reminds me of either, I fully know I don’t and that it’s not.

My Spam Comments Have Been Boring Lately

My spam comments have been boring lately. These are my primary interaction on this blog and I’m used to getting a post once and a while out of the good ones. I’m getting around 15-20 a day right now, so typically there’s been something interesting. Nothing recently though. It’s all just been the same old tropes, over and over again. I can’t get a post out of that…or can I?
